it isn't about conservatives doing it too.

I've done it once in a long while, and some libs raised anger and offense about it.

but let a lib do it, you get silence, a change of subject, and a grand liberal "haha".

It's about hypocrisy, not about who done it.

But conservatives dod fo the same thing. Countless times. Didnt ann coulter call obsma hitler and fox news ate her box out on air for an entire week. I think i even saw hannity eat the shitbox for a minute or two

So, let's see, Ann Coulter called Obama Hitler (citation needed) and it excuses 50+ years of democrats painting all their opponents as Nazis? It's easier than ever these days. After all, no one really remembers anything about the nazis anymore except they put jews in death camps.

Who thinks Obama and Hitler are pals? The Republican Women of Anne Arundel County, Maryland. In June 2009, the GOP group published a letter from its president, who explicitly compared the recently elected president to the Nazi leader. Obama and Hitler have a great deal in common in my view, she wrote. Obama and Hitler use the blitzkrieg method to overwhelm their enemies. FAST, CARPET BOMBING intent on destruction. Hitlers blitzkrieg bombing destroyed many European citiesquickly and effectively. Obama is systematically destroying the American economy and with it AMERICA.

Who paid cash to call Obama Hitler? The North Iowa Tea Party. In summer 2010, just a few months after President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act, a Tea Party group near Mason City, Iowa purchased a billboard meant to draw attention to socialism. The signwhich warned that Radical leaders prey on the fearful & naiveshowed large photographs of Obama, Hitler, and communist leader Vladimir Lenin beneath the labels Democrat Socialism, National Socialism, and Marxist Socialism.

National Tea Party leaders condemned the billboardThats just a waste of money, time, resources, and its not going to further our cause, said one spokesperson from the Tea Party Patriotsand the leader of the Iowa group that purchased the sign later expressed his regrets. The purpose of the billboard was to draw attention to the socialism. It seems to have been lost in the visuals, said Bob Johnson.

Which country music singer made an awkward Hitler quip? Hank Williams Jr. In a 2011 interview with Fox and Friends, Williams attacked a golf summit President Obama had held with House Speaker John Boehner. It was one of the biggest political mistakes ever, said the singer, most famous for his presence in the Monday Night Football broadcasts. It would be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu, OK?

When a confused Brian Kilmeade asked Williams to clarify the statementYeah, I dont understand that analogy, actuallyWilliams snapped back. Well, Im glad you dont, brother, because a lot of people do, Williams said. You know, theyre the enemy. Theyre the enemy," he said, referring to the president.

Williams later apologizedI have always respected the office of the Presidentbut he lost his spot with the NFL and ESPN, which pulled his contract.

Whose sermon compared health care reform to Hitler? Bishop Daniel Jenky. In a 2012 homily, the Peoria, Illinois bishop accused President Obama of waging war on Christian believers through health care policies, and the contraception mandate in particular. Hitler and Stalin, at their better moments, would just barely tolerate some churches remaining open, but would not tolerate any competition with the state in education, social services, and health care, Jenky was quoted as saying. In clear violation of our First Amendment rights, Barack Obamawith his radical, pro-abortion, and extreme secularist agendanow seems intent on following a similar path.

In the years since, the Supreme Court has weakened the mandate, broadening religious exemptions for a wide group of religious organizations, nonprofit and otherwise. Theres no indication (yet!) that Obama wants to close churches and curtail religious freedom.

Which elected official used social media to compare the president to Hitler? Arizona state Rep. Brenda Barton. In a post on Facebook, the Arizona lawmaker blasted Obama for closing federal monuments during the October 2013 government shutdown. Someone is paying the National Park Service thugs overtime for their efforts to carry out the order of De Fuhrerwhere are our Constitutional Sheriffs who can revoke the Park Service Rangers authority to arrest??? Do we have any Sheriffs with a pair? Barton wrote.

Even after strong criticism from local and national outlets, Barton stood by her take. Its not just the death camps. [Hitler] started in the communities, with national health care and gun control. You better read your history. Germany started with national health care and gun control before any of that other stuff happened. And Hitler was elected by a majority of people, she said.

Who is the billionaire who thinks Democrats are a goose step away from becoming the Nazi Party? Home Depot co-founder Ken Langone. In a 2014 interview with Politico, the major GOP donor fretted over Democratic appeals to populism and against the 1 percent, including those from President Obama and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio. I hope its not working, he said. Because if you go back to 1933, with different words, this is what Hitler was saying in Germany. You dont survive as a society if you encourage and thrive on envy or jealousy.

I'm sure a picture of Obama locking arms with a bunch of European heads of state wouldn't have provoked any kind of negative Republican reaction at all! More...

I should say that, for the most part, I dont think any of these are sincere. Im not sure that anyone who calls Obama Hitleror who did the same to George W. Bushis thinking much about their analogy. Instead, theyre reaching for the most evil name they can imagine, and attaching it to their chief political opponent.

The simple truth is that theres no one in mainstream American life who is like Hitler or the Nazi Party. But given the popularity of that comparisonit has fueled success for at least one conservative writer of noteI dont expect it to fade away, not now or for the

In a 2009 interview with conservative talk show host Alex Jones, Paul said he was concerned about Obamas increasing power. You had the money destroyed in Germany in 1923, he said, and out of that chaos came Hitler, who promised that these awful people were the ones doing this to you and we need to round them up and put them in camps. And the liberties just went out the window. But people actually democratically voted in a Hitler. And I worry about that again in our country.

He then made an apparent joke about whether Obama supporters had brown shirts on, a reference to the Nazi stormtroopers.

In 2012, Perry urged people to fight against Obamas re-election, invoking the battle against the Nazis as well as the American Revolution. It is a powerful moment in Americans history, and you are on the front lines, Perry said. This is Concord. This is Omaha Beach.

In a 2014 interview with NewsmaxTV, Carson suggested the Obama administration had created a favorable climate for the rise of Communism in the United States. The interviewer asked whether Carson was specifically calling Obama and (former) Attorney General Eric Holder communists. Carson responded by encouraging viewers to reach their own conclusions. Read The Naked Communist, a 1958 book by Cleon Skousen, he said. And read, you know, (Hitlers) Mein Kampf, and read the works of Vladimir Lenin.

Indirectly compares Obama to Hitler

The [iran] deal being negotiated today is reminiscent of Munich in 1938, Cruz said in April, a reference to British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlains disastrous peace pact with Hitler.

In an interview with The Iowa Republican, Graham mildly criticized Huckabee. I think the analogy that Mike used was inappropriate, he said. I like Mike a lot . . . but Im not accusing President Obama and John Kerry of walking the Jews to the ovens.

Later, Graham added his own Hitler reference: I think Obama is misjudging the Ayatollah the way people misjudged Hitler. Hitler at least lied about what he was going to do.

Rick Santorum, US Senator, Pennsylvania

In 2012, Santorum who was running for the Republican presidential nomination eventually won by Mitt Romney delivered a rambling speech in which he compared the preelection mood in America to the days leading up to World War II. America sat from 1940, when France fell, to December of 41, and did almost nothing, he said.

Santorum denied making an Obama-Hitler connection, but Romney advisor Eric Fehrnstrom was quick to connect the dots. Speaking on MSNBC Fehrnstrom said, Just yesterday, [santorum] was talking about World War II and making a comparison between President Obama and Hitler.

Here's a bit of an interesting read. As it turns out, snakey politicians will do anything to further their own cause regardless of which side they're on. So, you know, a lot of politicians have made baseless accusations that their opponents were Hitler, or nazis, or whatever. I know, I know, it's shocking but you were alive for the last six months so I'm sure you must have heard that unlike all the other, former Hitlers, Donald Trump is actually literally Hitler.

Nobody was calling Jeb Bush Hitler, or Ted Cruz Hitler, or Kasich, or Carson, or Rubio. Backwards, maybe, but not Hitler. Then along comes someone legitimately suggesting that an entire religion be registered (and as cal will tell you, registration leads to elimination...), barred from entry and the rest. You have german people en masse saying 'don't elect Trump, he's frighteningly reminiscent of Hitler'.

Now I'm pretty certain Trump is saying most of those things just to rile up the base and isn't actually the reincarnation of Hitler, but it's not a trivial case of 'I don't like this person therefore Hitler' like pretty much every other case.

Well I would suppose if any of them had won the Republican primary The Narrative from you folks on the left would be remarkably different.

The last Republican president was pretty friendly toward immigrants as I recall and I suppose if you wanted to take the time and do a Google search for George W bush Hitler you'd find quite a few hits.

Hitler was the leader of a military government which led to the death and suffering of untold millions. I think it's foolish to compare any of the US presidents today to him, regardless of whether you're on the political right or left.

Well this is obviously false equivalency. Hitler's dad didn't participate in the assassination of a US president. Crazy libs.

If I may resort to the typical tag that's typical liberal reaction. Nobody ever said Ted Cruz father was involved in the Kennedy assassination. What they did say is that he was hanging around with Kennedy's assassin no more no less. If Hillary's father had been photographed in the same room with Charles Manson it would be just as big a deal and would not, of course, mean that he helped with the Sharon Tate murders.
