Pretty cool how so many Browns fans found this site that were not part of the 'click" Meaning friends of the people from the AOL days, I found this site and been a member since 2007 the same day we shipped Charlie Frye to Seattle when Stan wrote a really funny post that said he would of loved to been a fly on the wall for that phone call where we were able to get something out of Frye, It was long and really funny and I been a member on here since, Back then my name was Brennan's Bunch, I found this site just playing around on the web and saw this page and wanted to check it out. Crazy how this board brought so many Browns fans together, God Bless Stan and his family and all of you, I don't get the chance to post much on here any more and when I do I pretty much be an asshat and screw around with some of you then stay away for a month or so. Really am sad that I never got to meet the "Man" who started it all. I still laugh at the video somebody posted of Stan when he was at some bar and sports caster went around the bar and was asking fans trivia questions and it really caught Stan off guard, he was like a Deer in the headlights lol.Way too many memories to post that made me lol. RIP Stan

So I was texting with Kathy and she asked me to post this again. Stan hated it but like everything else we laughed when we talked about it.

  2. I haven't posted on here in years. Tonight I went to Stan's wake. I met Stan (online not in person), when he was Atenears on the AOL board. I used to go on the AOL board before and after the Browns left in 1995 and continued posting while they were gone. Some of you may remember I used to spar with RavenBalti or something similar to that. So after the Browns came back I got tired of arguing with the troll (Ravenbalti) and eventually went on with my life.  I didn't post anymore until I met this guy in Marblehead a few years later. His name was Stan, I began to talk about sports and then about the Browns with him and thought he was a great guy immediately. It was right after that that he mentioned the AOL board and that he started his own Board to take the place of the one that shut down. I told him my aol screen name and he immediately knew who I was (on line at least), what a coincidence? We both had a place in Marblehead and we both had mutual interest in Cleveland sports, specifically the Browns.

After which I signed up for the BrownsBoard and had may interesting conversations with all of you. I met Kathy and his family and became his friend. I also have come down to the tailgates a few time since I had season tickets as Stan did. I partied with Stan many times at the lake and before the games at the lake front. I grew to love Stan and his wife and family and had many boat trips and a couple of vacations together. We laughed every time we were together.

That being said, It sucks you are gone Stan. When I got the called from Kathy it was a kick in the gut. You loved bringing strangers together for a good time. You took risks, you lived life like most of us want to but don't have the balls. You traveled and had fun. I will miss your laugh. I hope one day the Browns live up to the their name as you said they didn't. I hope one day to see you again.
