This incident seems a little overblown to me. If it were any other player, it would be a non-issue. But Manziel has a target on him because of who is is. Cowher's right, we should cut him for being a distraction.
Great point. I lean toward McCown for this reason as well, but I still think the Browns will start Manziel. Look at it from this perspective - if Josh starts and loses, Pettine will get a ton of criticism. Much more than if Manziel loses.
I can live with the QB struggles last week. Our starter got hurt and Manziel was thrown in there with very limited practice lime. Hopefully he'll be better prepared this week.
What I don't get are the struggles we had on the O-line and the defense in general. Didn't we fix those areas? Didn't we focus on our linemen (both sides) during the offseason???
The difference is Hoyer knows how to read the defense, and has great timing on his throws. Manziel is more of a improviser. A bit sloppy, but fun to watch. I think Hoyer is the right choice at least for the 1st part of the season.
