  1. The whole world is getting Blackrocked where everything is owned by LLCs that are owned by Corporations that are partners in other LLCs owned by trusts and fiduciaries funded by hedge funds and pension plans. If you’re one of the lucky stupid rich people, that’s the stuff you’re participating in these days. I’m sure the Quatari royal family owns stock in a lotta shit.
  2. It was an idea, you gotta give me that. Definitely being goofy. But deep down, l didn’t think it was a bad idea.
  3. Well shit, you’re right. https://www.usa.gov/official-language-of-us That throws a wrench into things then. Welp, l’m an asshole. I guess the republicans would have to formally legislate English and Spanish as our official languages? I mean, it’s worth a shot? I dunno…
  4. Right? It’s crazy how that happens. And then let’s fast forward to the part where the pendulum swings the other way and we’re assholes to immigrants again, but we’re kinda stuck with the 80 gazillion that are already here. Many of whom speak Spanish. And not to imply they don’t have a work ethic. It’s integrating that work ethic into the fold of America.
  5. Point 1: handouts or opportunity? I have to believe the latter is the majority. Nobody uproots their lives to move a great distance unless it’s a better long term situation. Handouts are just a fish, man. We have to teach them to fish. Point 2: sure, but the majority speak Spanish. It’s literally the border to a Spanish speaking country. I’m just saying, this would be a solid move by republicans to steal some thunder and win some votes.
  6. This is admittedly some out of the box thinking on my part, but l think it’s an inevitability within the next 50 years. So the wide open border thing seems to be viewed as a ploy by the democrats to engineer a voting base for the next several years, yeah? That seems to be a theory anyway. I got an idea for republicans to steal that base. Let them be the ones to formally introduce legislation to make Spanish our official second language. You old guys? Don’t worry. You’ll be dead by the time it comes to fruition. But if sweeping the rug out from the democrats is your concern right now, it’s not a bad idea.
  7. I watched this one. I dunno man, you see “brainwashed idiot” but l see a dude who was invested enough to make the trip from Alaska to (presumably) DC to say his piece. I appreciate the young dude’s interest and initiative. I thought Mr. Kennedy’s inquisition was pretty jive, bringing up 4 year old tweets that have nothing to do with the matter at hand. It was pretty apparent why he was doing it. Is it a big ask to want our elected officials to hover on the high ground?
  8. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/d3MJRejs9LVmw4AS/?mibextid=WC7FNe I started following RFK Jr. on social media. This is an interesting spot on who benefits from the war in Ukraine. War is big business.
  9. https://www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/2024/3/23/moscow-concert-hall-attack-why-is-isil-targeting A pretty informative article that delves into the who and the why.
  10. Really? Over Trump or Biden? I believe he’s an anti-vaxxer. Is that really a dealbreaker for you? I can’t say it is for me. I think we’re far enough removed from it that we can acknowledge that some bullshit was shoved down our throats over the vaccine. His message of unity is most appealing to me, and that he’s blurring the party platform lines with his candidacy. He’s a pro-environment guy, speaks about lifting up the poor and middle class, fixing healthcare, getting out of proxy wars and focusing on our own health as a nation. He even acknowledges the fear mongering going on in politics these days, where there’s an attempt to direct our choices out of fear. You recognize that too. I don’t think he’s going to win or anything, but l hope like hell he makes some waves.
  11. I watched it a couple times. No, he didn’t get in to specifics, but he was pretty clear about the issues he wants to address. I thought the video was well done, and dare l say, uplifting. I’d like to see him get enough support to be invited to a debate or 2, kinda like Ross Perot got. This was the first time l’d heard him speak. Kind of a rough speaking voice, like he sounds really strained at times.
  12. Goodness, you got a couple more months of it then? If you got a some links to any particularly over-the-top Trump lovin’ ads l’d love to check them out.
  13. I’m real curious about WV because l’m sure Trump’s name was uttered many a time in ads for local candidates. Were there any specific candidates who were flat out over-the-top with how much they support Trump? And how did they fare in the results?
  14. That was an interesting read. Pretty crafty, and l suspect some of that stuff was going on this cycle too. My dude Larry Kidd lost, but he was running against 5 other cats and the guy who did win was down with Trump, maybe just not as over-the-top about it in his ads. I’m curious how effective that ad strategy was in various parts of the country.
  15. I suppose you’re right on that. It’s pretty icky though. A poor girl’s tragedy gets turned into a bastardized Destiny’s Child refrain. I mean, there’s more substantial things to rally around if your concern is that other people aren’t as concerned with the border issue as you think they should be. Here’s some stats. https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/cbp-enforcement-statistics/criminal-noncitizen-statistics Big spike in homicides when Biden took over. And that’s just border patrol’s stats. I don’t think anyone’s disputing it’s a problem. We got options if we’re looking for names.
  16. There was a dude running for the Ohio second congressional district named Larry Kidd, and l caught some of his radio commercials. It was very apparent that part of his campaign strategy was to show just how much he liked President Trump. And l’ve caught wind of other Republican primary candidates using that angle too, and my question is how did it play in whatever local elections you follow? I know we got got members from all over and l suspect a number of candidates used a similar strategy, and l’m curious how it played out for this round of mid-terms. I’ll link Larry’s commercial for reference. He’s not even in my district, but you’ll see what l mean with his ad. It’s pretty great. https://kiddforohio.com/tvad
  17. Her father also dislikes her death being politicized. It’s kinda disgusting how her name is being dragged through the politicization filter. There’s other homicides at the hands of illegals we can focus on. Let the statistics speak for themselves and let her family grieve in peace. https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/4539384-laken-riley-father-death-political-immigration-debate/amp/
  18. What do you got against Mormons? Sure, it’s annoying how they send their youth door to door to convert us, but that’s just a minor inconvenience.
  19. Hindsight being 20/20 and all, why didn’t we just give the Jews half of Utah after WW2? They would have gotten along SO much better with the Mormons. But no, they had to plop down in the middle of people who hate their guts. I mean, sure, the Holy Land! Pretty big bragging right if you snag the Holy Land. But you know, Utah is kinda holy too. Jesus delivered dish ware there. We all know Muslims are the fastest growing religion, and has been for some time. Plenty of those folks are Americans too. It’s simply one of those things to consider, that sympathy towards Muslim plights is going to grow in the world.
  20. Who does number 3 work for? Jerry Jeudy reminds me of Judge Judy. They look so alike. Hit the gavel hard for us Jeudy.
  21. It’s not just for breakfast anymore..
  22. Just gonna throw this out there, but the “well regulated militia” bit in the second amendment could be explored more as a solution. My thought is, make militias a thing again. Let local gun guys who love America form quasi military clubs in every county. Have a strict vetting process for the people at the top of these clubs. Chances are a lot of them will be ex military or law enforcement types with a useful background. Then, decide how much gun is too much gun for the average person. Is it ARs? AKs? Bazookas? Let it be a democratic precess where we vote on the weapons. The “too much gun for the average person” weapons, only folks in the militias can have those. Everything else is free game. incentivize the militias to locally weed out the non-militia folks who have the “too much gun” guns. And it’s not a bad idea to have pockets of people all over the place that can mobilize at the drop of a hat, and they have machine guns, tanks and bazookas. Bazookas.
  23. Goodness Calf. Don’t do this to yourself.
  24. I actually appreciate what Kennedy is doing. He’s not winning or anything, both the major parties will make sure of that, but he’s pushing the envelope, and in a way, blurring the lines between the 2 major parties’ platforms. I don’t think l’m alone in saying the issue platforms of the 2 major parties have become bastardized versions of what they used to be. He’s a guy from a prominent democrat family, but he’s championing some right wing causes. He considered Rand Paul for his running mate? That would have been interesting. If we leveled the playing field where party affiliation meant nothing, l actually like him best so far. He’s honestly my personal front runner. This running mate story is weird. It’s notable that Redstate did a story on Kennedy. It’s tough to find a peep about Kennedy’s candidacy in any news outlet, which l believe is by design.
