  1. The open gambling world, at some point is going to shake all of pro sports. With Gambling legalized, it's going to corrupt these sports or lead to rampant speculation about games being rigged or being another form of pro wrestling. As Han Solo would say, "I have a bad feeling about this".
  2. Has Jedrick Wills been released yet? Dammit if I watch that wasted excuse of a LT give up mid-play one more time and stand around while watching our QB get hammered, I swear to god, I won't do anything but yell at the TV again. BUT cheese and rice he's terrible.
  3. When Haslam bought the team, I remember that being one of the first things he looked at doing, and after a few consultations, the answer was no. Time for a dome in CLE. As for the previous statement too about Cooper slipping and dropping the pass in the EZ? I read that the stadium has a boiler system with 40 miles on conduit to prevent the field from freezing. Was it just that cold that the heating system couldn't keep up, or was the heating system not on at all. Also, wait for a few players or teams to start bitching about the potential injuries when playing in inclement weather and some type of initiative that will force Teams to have "equal" playing fields across the league and forcing owners/cities to have domes. Less cold induced injuries. Fair and equal kicking games, etc., Not that I agree with it, but that's the trend we have in our society today.
  4. I can see why Koramoah went left and inside... But doesn't JJ3 (43) have enough sense to fill that hole opening to his right? There was no where to go on the left side??
  5. First, my post had more than just what you're quoting, so perhaps the person "upvoting" liked the portion of my post that you chose not quote. Who upvotes is really irrelevant. It's not like everyone has to vote on every post to decide if they agree or not. There could be many more that agree and like myself rarely upvote. In the end, what you believe and feel is all that matters, not some online forum mechanism that is suppose to help you feel better about a posted opinion. Zeppe went what 24/34. Decent game. He was only sacked twice and only 2 QB hits, in 4 quarters, against this defense that was suppose to be top in the league. Whether it be blitzs, better pressure from front 4, the poor execution of blitzs, schemes, poor tackling, poor coverage, all of it. It stinks. I will be the first to admit that if you're seeing blitz and I'm not, perhaps it's because it look like how a blitz should look because we suck at that too. We got picked apart by a rookie QB. Most other teams would have welcomed him to the league in a lot worse fashion.
  6. Don't disagree to a point. JB had an open throw yesterday, very little pressure at the time. Under threw the ball and it was picked. Last week. had an opportunity to run for a potential first down in the red zone, JB threw a pick instead. There have been additional instances when he should run verses throw. Yesterday, JB's pocket presence was poor. JB can run, but is slow. Dobbs IMO, gives us a more Watson-esq type of offense. And I agree with you wholeheartedly that our defense has been shit. Blown coverages, despite being 12th (as of yesterday) on 3rd down conversions, it does seem like it's a lot worse. We had one sack yesterday, one? We should be expecting more out of Garret. Why aren't we pressuring more and showing more blitz packages, is that personnel, or is that Joe Woods?
  7. This is what every team is doing to us. We can point fingers at the front office, Stefanski, Depo, etc., but right now, teams know how to beat us. Heard a suprising stat last week on the The Fan from the browns beat reporter (forget the name). He was speaking to the run game, and at times what is the perceived perception of not running enough. First stat he presented was that if you remove running QBs, the browns were number one in run attempts in the league. The second stat was that in the last two years, teams that averaged 12 yards per catch were 32-1. The point, the run game and the passing game both have to be good. The glaring omission in this thread is that Jacoby is a career back up, when faced with a definitive decision, can't make them consistent enough nor has the skill set to get us where we need to be. If our record was what it is right now with Deshaun, I think this topic is justified. But with JB on the helm, we are just getting by. The one issue I have is that I think we should look to Dobbs. IMO, he made plays during preseason and can move his feat and gets out of pressure. If we want any chance of playoffs, it's time to move on from Jacoby and give the damn ball to Josh Dobbs.
  8. Execution. Analytics can't fix that. Coaches try and the players have to make the effort to improve. Tackling is a talent that can be learned and improved. If guys are constantly missing those tackles, move on.
  9. True, but the analytics don't tell JB to throw the INT instead of runnin g for an apparent first down. Analytics are their to suggest, and have some merit. The other side of the coin is execution, and that's been the hardest part for this team and season, especially on D.
  10. I can't be the only thinking that Dobbs is the better choice of Brisket.... right? Jesus Christ, Brisket couldn't out run the Panther's nose tackle.
  11. This, this, and this. It was always plausible that Baker was on the chopping block. He is not Stefanski's guy. Yes, Berry was in the room when drafted, but I'm not sure how much say he had in the decision since it wasn't his ultimate call. Then 2020 came, we made the playoffs. Baker had a stellar 2nd half. No contract extension. That was the biggest red flag. IMO, that is probably what started the riff between Baker and the FO (as MKC has reported various times). As fans, we should have seen the writing on the wall that Baker was not this FO's man... anymore. Let's not be surprised by this. Eric Metcalf tweeted yesterday that a FO, if they are not looking to upgrade every position, all the time, they are not doing their job. He also stated that the Browns always tried to replace him, yet he always gave them a reason not too. He competed and won his spot. And now Baker must do the same. He's also facing a contract year. So if he remains with the Browns, he is going to have to force this FO or another team to want him. If he plays like shit again, especially without injury, this FO was making the right call.
  12. Per the CDC over 10K died due to drunk driving in 2016. That's 25% of gun related deaths. So, what number of deaths have to occur before we have a "problem"? People still die because of those issues, whether they directly or indirectly affect you or others, people still die. My point, is 40K died due to gun deaths. Over 600K due to alcohol, tobacco, or drugs (and yes, most of those don't directly affect or kill others), but the point is that why don't those 600K deaths matter as much as gun related deaths? Because it's political. Isn't a preventable death, regardless of the cause, tragic? When politicians figure that they can divide and gather votes by pushing those vices i've mentioned, they will come for them. Maybe not in our lifetime, but they will.
  13. And the point being, despite all the laws we have, there are still 500K more deaths related to drinking, tobacco and drugs. And to state that those deaths only impact the person who dies of alcoholism or lung cancer or an overdose is not correct either. Family and friends are deeply impacted by those deaths as well. The point that is slipping by some of you is that the narrative that is being put in front of us by politicians and our MSM make it appear that this country has some overwhelming gun problem. That is not the case and is shown by the numbers. If you really care about the deaths of others, then the cause shouldn't matter. If we should ban or even legislate gun ownership even further, then we should do the same with alcohol and tobacco. A death is a death, even if it is self inflicted like alcohol and tobacco CAN be. Stop being manipulated by politicians and the MSM. Do some damn research and form an intelligent opinion based on some damn facts rather than what your political party chooses to espouse. Just wait though. One day, politicians will make alcohol and tobacco a political issue (in some ways, it already is with sin taxes) and some will want to ban (again) those items. And when the politicians come for it (so they can get votes) let's see how you like that big ol' gov't then.
  14. Nope. Drunk drivers kill. Second hand smoke is harmful and can lead to death. Associated deaths due to drugs and the drug empire kill. But you're missing my point. How many deaths does it take then for those deaths to be a concern?
  15. Some perspective. Some say we have a gun problem. Maybe. In 2019, 40K deaths related to guns in the US. That's all types of deaths, homicide, accidents, police, etc., In the same year over 600K deaths related to Alcohol, tobacco, and drug use. In this country we like to label situations and occurrences before we understand the true context. Why are the deaths of 40K more important than the 600K related to alcohol, tobacco, and drugs. Why aren't we fighting to restrict, legislate, or criminalize those concerns. Also, those numbers are straight from the CDC.
  16. KC picked apart our zone D all day. Not sure if Man would have been a bit better. But damn I was tired of seeing the middle open all day and the short out passes too. Garret and Clowney showed pressure, but a bit disappointed that we didn't see either of them get to PM more than they did. Two more stops by us with added points and this game is over. Why couldn't Joe Woods adapt the D better? Perhaps what we saw was the best we could do with that offense? PM knew he didn't have a lot of time to throw, and Andy Reid called the plays that worked.... all game long. We clean up the mistakes, game over. Well played. Again, two years in a row and we had KC beat or close to beating them. Is KC the new Denver? I'll take this Game 1 over last year's game 1, any day. This is going to be a fun season to watch.
  17. What will happen is a real female athlete will say or do something during the Olympics that will be deemed offensive and intolerable and will be canceled by the media, IOC, and all social media mediums and will also be barred from sanctioned competition.
  18. What this country needs is that middle ground party, which does exist, but doesn't get the voice of reason it deserves. The Libertarian party. Strictly constitutional, limited government, personal freedoms and rights that extend to even the LGBTQ crowd. Here is the platform. https://www.lp.org/platform/ I"m not 100% in agreement with everything, but damn, they get very close on a lot of issues. We need to drop this two party system and allow the freedom of political thought to exist in all levels of government. But most people, as even represented in this forum, can only see black and white. Trump or Biden. Our hopes and freedoms don't rest on either of those two asses, rather it rests on the political literacy that "We the People" should know and understand. It rests on "We the People" to demand better from all levels of politics and our media. We are allowing our personal identities to be shaped by politicians and the media. Instead, We the People, should be shaping our politicians and the media should exist as an unbiased factual representation of information to the people.
  19. George Washington warned of a two party system when he left office. Our current two party system, in which it is currently working, is dividing this country. Not every political issue is right or left. Right now you can't be governing and fiscally conservative while also being socially liberal at the same time. I'm very for the constitution and all that it stands for. But I also understand that the constitution, when it was written and the influences around it's construction, have socially changed and therefore it doesn't speak exactly or precisely to every social issue we have today. I don't want heavy taxes. I don't want big government. I don't care that gays, LGBTQ want to get married, let them. It doesn't hurt me at all. Love is love. Let the love. I also think we could, as a country do much better about our healthcare and the astronomical rising costs. Can it be done universally... I bet it could. I know this country is rich enough to do so. Education, for those that want to learn, could be heavily subsidized via public education. But if you want to go to Harvard, Yale or any other private school, go for it. The costs are on you though. I"m all for the individual making their way and granting every american the same opportunity as the next. That is what has made us great. I hate our current socio-political norm now. It's wrenching this country apart. So yes, two parties in my opinion are not doing us any good. However, the third party being optioned, I'm not sure is the best route either. As for Trump, if he could have just put twitter down, I think he woudl have done fine. But our MSM played off of his in abilty to shut his mouth. That was his down fall. Now, 5 months into Biden, North Korea is threatening, MSM is reporting on any gun violence they can, hacking our piplines and infrastructure, this country is a mess.
  20. The officer in question has resigned, has been arrested and formally charged with 2nd Degree manslaughter. What this kid has done with his life prior to this event has never ever been a consideration or part of any narrative, nor will it matter in this one.
  21. I kind of chalk this up to something similar. One trump was first elected, numerous news articles and opinions on how Trump was going to get us in a war with N. Korea. A few months later, nothing ever happened. In fact, in the media, N. Korea was non-existent. Now, I'm seeing N. Korea back in the news with their threats and demands. Hmmm... Probably seeing the same cause and effect here with guns.
  22. https://www.yahoo.com/news/blm-official-calls-investigation-founder-114017918.html So this woman is a self professed Marxist yet uses the BLM to live a very capitalistic lifestyle. Got to love it!
  23. I Could be wrong, but did I see that KC has on of the worst run defenses in the league. Next week !could be very interesting!
  24. That's two weeks in a row with egregious holding and no calls!!! Maybe the the analysts in the game aren't supposed to comment on "no call" but this is two weeks of the refs not calling holding is bullshit. I wish the analysts would start calling out the refs and bring more attention to it. You know the players know it so why aren't they and the coaches getting fired up about it? That first half was so much fun to watch. I haven't seen this team play like that, since... ever. I know we were 9-3 in '94, I just don't remember the Offense looking as potent as yesterday.... until the 2nd half.
