  1. If you want to shitpost about something, make another thread. A RUMOR DOES NOT CHANGE THE SALARY CAP
  2. The less anyone reacts to media talking about the salary cap, the better. If they're opening their mouth, they're full of shit. In short, Browns are absolutely not "3m under the cap".. I don't know why media does not open up OverTheCap or Spotrac for every article when this is mentioned..... but this guy obviously did not. Sure, the discussion of Ward's contract changes may very well be precise, but the asserted overall context is dog biscuits that animals would ignore.
  3. Denzel Ward's change which is linked elsewhere makes 2028 a void year at 2.9 and converted 14.2 to signing bonus. Ward's cap hit in 2024 is now 12.1, 0.1 less than his 2023. NFL Cap: 255.4 2/29 Browns : 287.7 Current Available 2024 Salary: [255.4 - 287.7] = -32.3 Because Browns current available cap is negative 32 million, look for every player you can name to go through this.
  4. NFL Salary Cap next year: 255.4 2024 Browns cap hits per player Current Browns total for 2024 as shown in that second link is 297.5 -- Dealing with this gap is where Berry makes his salary. What is actually going to happen? Even @tiamat63 would lose money making prop bets on Browns salary cap moves this offseason. I'm going to try to keep this thread updated with what gets us under the cap by the date with drafted rookies signed.. so the goal is about 242 for non-rookies.
  5. And the Browns care about the Browns. This is the same situation with workers and all businesses. They don't care about you - all interactions are always transactional. Take your enjoyment of watching Nick Chubb's ass to pornhub. Complaining about Watson isn't going to change anything. Future Browns salary cap moves will, however, change the players on the roster next season.

  7. Gambling websites explicitly attempt to make the user addicted. They hire psychologists to push all the buttons within the human psyche currently known. They have meetings where the phrase "And you can see exactly when the user becomes addicted" is discussed. Gambling addiction is not "an unfortunate coincidence" -- it's the single goal of the business. VPN's never "hide" you.. today's available technology sees through VPN's instantly. As an example, one of the first gambling sites, PokerStars, was only available for use within New Jersey. So anyone in the US could/would put money in, and then when they tried to cash out and claim to be Sitting In NJ, PS would deny them bc they could see the person is sitting in oklahoma. Good luck cashing out once you put it in. And yes, every podcast that mentions or streams gambling is being paid to lie to you. NFL partnering with these groups is, to put it incredibly charitably, a wild disservice.
  8. I think the issue with the LB's on our roster has more to do with unrealistic hopium expectations clashing with the reality of their individual limitations. The pre-draft athletic weaknesses of Walker and Taki are proving to be completely correct. Those two guys couldn't cover in space before the draft -- voila, they still can't do it today. I think the problem lies with anyone who let themselves think We Would Be Fine with them in any large role. Walker was a rd5 pick for good reason, and note that Taki was projected the same or lower. These same concerns were visible before the 2023 draft, and instead of addressing them with player(s), we ran it back in the 2023 season. Hopefully LB gets dealt with before 2024. The issue with Wills likely is that a replacement isn't coming until 2025.. I wonder if the round2 this year we likely could get for him will prove to be better than the round 1 or 2 we could get for him in the future after signing the new contract. The issue to me is more that Conklin's knee could lead to retirement rather than multiple solid seasons of play..
  9. Coming up with 2 pages and counting of insults "isn't political" in the same way the 10 foot Let's Go Brandon flag on your neighbor's F150 "isn't political." The entire reason for this thread is political.
  10. Fun fact: Will Smith's famous slap line said to Chris Rock was taken in its entirety from Reacher season 1 episode 1. The episode released before the slap. I'm glad that the entire reason this Taylor Swift shit is even a topic is the identity politics conservatives claim to be against.. and it's hilarious to me that conservatives polarized themselves against the biggest pop star on the planet. Because Taylor is white and started her career in country music, she just magically must be a conservative? Recent proof that she's not conservative is the entirety of the hatred.. and the reason for the conspiracy theories and big mad emotion because There Has To Be Some External Reason She Chose Against Us [other than her own mind, because of course women can't think for themselves, amirite?] The stupidest of the conservative Swift nonsense is that if they just neg Taylor Swift enough, she'll date them. Alpha males unite on this thread, apparently - because the More Plates More Dates forum is down? She lives rent-free in conservative heads - and the conservative tears are fucking hilarious because the whining is so goddamn pathetic. And I have some terrible news for fans of "country music" who aren't just playing on a team.. That genre started out pushing causes that now map as "liberal." If you like listening to Merle Haggard or Woody Guthrie, controversial songs such as "This Land is Your Land" are now radical left heresy!
  11. If you've wondered "Where's the heat?" in your jalapenos lately... thank Texas A&M.
  12. I think I'm finished with the Alex Wright and James Hudson Experience. At a certain point you're not Developmental.. you're a CFL player. Or the UFL, the new one after the USFL merged with the XFL. Ronnie Hickman was undrafted for a reason. Harrison Bryant.. I suppose can stay TE3, but I thought NFL players had heard of switching the ball from one arm to the other.
  13. Smith was only salty because he knew he was about to get fired.. and he was fired shortly after this game. The fake kneel-down reminded me of Marino's fake spike TD [aka The Clock Play] to Mark Ingram Sr. This play started the slide that got Pete Carroll fired as Jets coach. Aaron Glenn, current Lions DC, is the Jets player who Mark Ingram beat for the TD. Side note about Aints that isn't discussed enough: They have drafted round1 worse than the Browns the last few years. 2022 OT Penning, 2021 DL Turner and 2018 DL Davenport all achieved the basketball DNP-CD this season. That's basically what Browns gave for DW.
  14. It was good to see friend of the board Conor Stalions living his best life in the stands of the Rose Bowl yesterday. This will rightly be taken to be another institutional middle finger to the NCAA and treated appropriately. Even if UM does win next week, that shit's going to be vacated so fast your head will spin -- so Washington's the 2023 champion either way! The NCAA has the ability to [and does] assess the penalty of forcing coaches at any level [Harbaugh, coordinators, position coaches, GA's, etc] to not just be fired but also not employed anywhere for any period of time. Look up "show-cause." The prior Tennessee football coach [Pruitt] received a 6 year show cause penalty this past July. He's unemployable until 2029 and hasn't held a job since 2021. The sign-stealing is of course only one of the infractions. Fun! My guess is Harbaugh gets a 3-year, both coordinators get 1 each, and one position coach on both O and D [the chief guy Stalions talked with on that side] gets 2.
  15. I had the game on mute. Brett Kollmann and his podcast buddy from Bootleg Football streamed the entire time and gave much better commentary than the game announcers.
  16. All that cash from the coke dealers of Miami only to lose to the Fighting Schianos at Rutgers. Soon the NIL stuff will stabilize because all the splash at TAM and Miami the last couple seasons are entirely a zero between the white lines.
  17. First UM claimed the B10 looking into UM cheating was A Witch Hunt Then UM declared No Rules Were Broken Then it was No Punishment Can Take Place This Year Then it was Get Jim an Extension Then it was Ryan Day Cheated Then it was Ryan Day RICO Then it was They (UM) are going to get a TRO if Jim is suspended Then it was UM leaving the B10 Then it was War Then it was Michigan Against The World Then, the week of the OSU game, Jim Harbaugh accepts punishment. The only question I have is.. who else gets fired? There has to be somebody on the O side of the ball who Stalions was working with in the same way he did with Partridge because OL knowing where pressure comes from is the most important gain from signal-stealing. RB coach Mike Hart? The OC? For those of you who haven't seen it yet, this is the clip of UM learning they're playing Alabama instead of FSU. Guess who they wanted to play!
  18. Flacco's 374 passing yards were the 12th most by a Brown in any game and the most by a Brown since Baker Mayfield threw for 376 on Dec. 30, 2018.
  19. Today's news Apparently "not blocking on run plays" is now a violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy.
  20. At least this trade won't be the worst in NFL history. David Tepper and what he's currently finding a way to do in Carolina are almost at the level of needing the Stepien Rule in the NFL.. His trade for Bryce Young by itself is worse than the Watson trade, and that's the tip of the iceberg.
  21. Flacco's bones haven't turned into mush -- it's his ability to quickly diagnose pressure and make the correct audible that I worry about. And that's presnap.. He definitely doesn't have the muscle memory with Browns WR's to stay on schedule and move through his progressions after the snap.
  22. That'd be a no on Leonard even before you look at his contract. Maybe, if he gets back to being the player he was before the surgeries.. today he's a liability on the field and would take a roster spot from someone who can help
  23. Canada has been a narcissistic dumbass with no self-reflection for years, it's shocking he lasted this long.
