  1. Clowney is a good player but is going to command superstar money and he's always hurt. Seems like a bad investment to me.
  2. I never really understood the "mentor" backup QB thing. Just make up a position for him on the coaching staff and save the roster spot. Gilbert is out playing Stanton so far and if that's the case he should be the backup. Better, cheaper, more potential.
  3. Takitaki looks like a great special team guy that could develop into a decen rotational player. High mmeffort guy that will always push the guy in front of him. Wilson needs a little development but giving how pass driven the nfl is now I would think he should start sooner rather than later. Kirksey should be sweating bullets
  4. I think he could be a serviceable 3rd down back. He can be upgraded in that regard, but he is not a good backup RB. RBs are a dime a dozen so we should find someone before the season starts. Hell bring back Hyde as insurance policy he will probably get cut
  5. Im not going to pretend I was all over Moreland, but I thought he was a good value pick late. I was critical of the Takitaki and Redwine picks and some people got butt hurt. With how the draft played out I actually gave it a pretty good grade because if you swapped where Wilson and Takitaki were picked it looks good. I'm still not a huge fan of the Redwine pick because I thought there were better players available. (Dionte Thompson, Rodney Anderson, DeMarcus Christmas, and Jimmy Moreland) It was a mid round pick so I get gambling on athleticism. With that said I am really worried about the safety position. I think Randall is solid, Morgan is ok, but there is nothing behind them. Whitehead looked bad we have to find an upgrade.
  6. I would keep him just for kick returns. Who knows he may develop into a decent WR but we don't need him to do that right away
  7. With Beckham, Landry, Higgins he is battling for one of the last spots in the reciever room. With so many young players playing well I say package him with some picks and try and get trent William's. They need help at the position and I doubt they will get anything as good as a young promising receiver and a mid round pick
  8. We already know what we have in Smith, a decent rotation guy. Thomas is very raw/inconsistent so I would not be comfortable with him forced into snaps. We should be able to find some roster casualties before the season starts.
  9. Wilson and Greedy looked promising. Lawrence and Davis played well. I saw problems with our DE, RB, safety depth. It was a good showing all around. Jimmy Moreland had 5 tackles 3 pass defended and 2 forced fumbles do you guys remember certain people criticizing my evaluation of him because he went in the 7th? Shhh
  10. The talent jumps off the screen, but White is slow to react. Could develop but I would rather not risk a high draft pick on a developmental player. I've been banging the drum for those 3 for a while now and I absolutely love Pratt
  11. Pratt, Hodge, and Watson are just as good if not better than the Devins. Hopefully Simmons falls due to injury to us in the 2nd and we land one of those 3 in the 3rd
  12. I didnt even think about the potential of a 3 rb set. Imagining Duke and Hunt running little flare routes and Chubb hammering it up the guts is damned near impossible to stop.
  13. Duke can't be happy with the snaps hes getting and now we bring in a Hunt to take away even more playing time. He is going to be nothing more then depth and special teams at this point. Granted hes making like 5 mil a year and hes not destroying his body.
  14. What does this mean for Duke Johnson? I have always felt we under used him in the first place and now he will be lucky to get 5 touches a game. What is his trade value a 5th rounder?
  15. If we land a combo of Deflippo and Pagano I will be pumped. I would be a little concerned with a power struggle between kitchens and deflippo
  16. You're right. I thought I remembered a year where they were making a huge deal about his completion percentage. Maybe he had some good stretch or something.
  17. I agree he has alot of work to do as a passer and he can't run this much every year, but he has only used a playbook for 4 years now. There is no reason to think in a year or 2 he can't run that offense as well kapernick did and he was completing 70% of his passes.
  18. I openly admitted that I wanted Greg Roman's gimmick offense. We were coming from no offense and I know that his offense doesn't require an elite QB. I was attacking this offseason by trying to change the culture. I liked Baker and had him as our best option, but I didn't see a rookie QB turning around the browns
  19. I've never seen him take a huge shot, hes like a greased pig. I dont think he is going to play more than 8 years but he will be a headache for us for the better part of a decade
  20. I explained that's why I loved that fit. If he went to any other team I wouldnt have been that high on him but he had Greg Roman on his side. Hes made careers for Kapernick, Tyrod, and salvaged Alex Smith. I think if schottenheimer wansnt there I think Greg Roman would have done an even better job with him
  21. Outside of the completion percentage I nailed this. I was nervous about these predictions because I was pretty much the only one on team Jackson. I'm not so crazy after all huh?
  22. I was thinking the same thing. So he has to start 6 games or push. Top 3 passer rating among rookies. Win half his games 60% completion with 2:1 TD/INT ratio Take the ravens to the playoffs
  23. This is a tricky one. Let's try and keep it to this year. If he doesn't play it's a push. If he gets 2 out of 4 on the following list I win. Lamar will be one of the top 3 passers in this rookie class. (Adjusted for playing time) He will win atleast half of the games he starts. He will complete atleast 60% of his passes with a 2:1 td/int ratio. He will take the ravens to the playoffs.
  24. I wasn't comparing Cam Newton and Lamar Jackson as players I was talking about the effect they have on a team. Everything will revolve around Lamar when he takes over in Baltimore. He will shoulder the majority of the offense output. Lamar has thrown more NFL passes then RG3. Baylor ran that gimmicky offense and inflated his stats. If you can compare RG3 to Lamar you can compare him to Russell Wilson, Seneca Wallace, Tyrod Taylor, or any other mobile QB. Lamars running ability over shadowed how much he developed as a passer. As a freshman I didn't think he could cut it as a passer but when I went back and watched him develop, I think he can develop into a pretty solid passer
