The Gipper
OK, in the glee...for some of the Saints winning the Super Bowl here is this weeks survey question, plus a few more to give yourself some thought: My own answers: 1. Who do you think should be the odds on favorites to win the Super Bowl next year? I think that if the QB situation with Favre were as good next year as this year that the Minnesota Vikings have about the most complete team in the NFL. (Sure, I would like to say The Browns, but I am trying to be realistic) 2. What is the Browns greatest position of need for the next draft? Defensive back 1st, then D Line. 3. What is your favorite nickname for someone active in sports today? Don't know why because it is pretty stupid, but I like the Flying Tomato. (Shaun White, snowboarder) 4. Should the Jaguars be moved to LA? No. I don't like teams moving just because their asshole owners or the other asshole owners or the commissioner or idiots in the media don't think they are making enough money. Stick it out in J-ville. If the NFL wants to give LA a team, then expand, and add one to San Antonio as well. 5. A. What is the furthest north you have ever been? Just north of Fairbanks, Alaska which I looked up to be at 64 deg. 50' north B. What is the furthest south you have ever been? St. John's U.S. Virgin Islands. I wasn't sure if the Virgin Islands or the Caymans was further south. It is the Virgins at 17 deg. 76'. I have never been to the southern hemisphere. C. What is the furthest east you have ever been? Paris, France. D. What is the furthest west you have ever been? The western slope of Oahu around Makaha beach. It is at 158 degrees west. For purposes of deciding east and west, use the international dateline as the dividing point. E.g. if you have say, been to Japan, that is east....even if you got there by going west. The Gipper
In that case, I guess I have been as far east and west as one can go Yes, that is possible. I used the International Date Line, but in reality it is Longitude Line 180 degrees. If you have traveled across this longitude line, yes, you have been as far west and as far east as you have been. New Zealand would be East as that country sits at between 165 degrees E. and 175 degrees east. However, if one were to travel in a northeasterly direction from there and visit Tonga or Samoa, you would be on the other side of the 180th longitude. Thus you would be in the West. It is not a matter of which direction you travel, it is a matter of where you were longitudinally.
