Given the Browns "as is", my pick would be Haden....PERIOD! That shut down corner opens up a lot of options in defensive/blitzing schemes. The other positions listed can be filled a little further into the draft.

free agency may change some of our needs but as of now, who do you risk selecting with our 1st pick?

 

I think Haden will be there and that is who we will pick. Instant starter and impact player by mid season.

 

If he isn't there, looking at the list of who probably will, I went Dez Bryant as my second option.

 

While i like mcClain, he isn't that much better than a Spikes(if he is) and Spikes may be there for our second pick.

 

Bryant on the other hand is a clear cut first at his position and a player who has all the earmarks of being a great, impact player in the league.

 

Bottom line, he fits the same mold as Haden....we can't get anyone near his quality later in the draft....even a few picks later. It's him, and then the rest.

 

The only way to get better is to start selecting players like that. The draft needs to be less about need and more about selecting players who will be at the top of their profession for a decade. Five years in to a pro-bowl career, nobody is going to think the guy wasn't needed.
