Earle
dont be suprised everybody to see DA rebound if given the opportunity! I dont care who the man is as long as we win! but it is nice to be able to pimp both QB's maybe there will be an offer for one of them in the off season. Mr. T
why wouldn't it be Dorsey? He is touted as being the smartest QB we have.
Riffer X
I said before that DA may not be done here and we need to back the guy. He has a lot of tools and has proven he can kick ass from time to time, which is better than 95% of the backups in the league and I still think he is not near as bad among starters as his ranking puts him. I like DA, but half of what I say is to rile my good buddy Lums. Lummox gets all flummoxed and shit.
Earle
We also have Cribbs a former Quarterback. What would you say if they had a package for Cribbs and Harrison running the read option?

OconRecon
Since BQ is the starter and if he gets hurt do we see DA or Dorsey? maybe its Cribbs? Of course its DA for '08. For '09, I'd like to see 1. Quinn 2. Dorsey 3. Cribbs If Quinn and Dorsey go down in the same game, Cribbs could get us through. He already plays on offense, defense, and both sides of the special teams unit. No player knows the team better than Cribbs. Of course, I have no clue how to get him a few reps in practice. How many teams have a solid #3? I just don't know. Dorsey has to be the most solid #3 in the NFL.
Old Dawg
I hate to state the obvious, but Anderson will be traded soon after the season, maybe for a 2nd round pick. We'll sign a veteran backup. There is zero chance of the Browns not giving Quinn the offseason and 2009 as the starter. Nah Nah Nah Nah, Nah Nah Nah Nah, hey hey hey goodbye DA, goodbye Lums!!! Beat it!

Lumbergh
I really think it's premature to say that I'd put the percentages like this 4% quinn regresses, throws INTs and looks worse than DA. Quinn Traded, DA promoted back to starter. 11% Quinn plays average or below average, DA kept as back up insurance. 85% Quinn plays well enough for the Browns to feel comfortable trading or cutting DA. Thanks for your percentages. The real deal is that both players are under contract and it's unlikely either is moved. Although if Quinn is NOT the clear cut starter he may ask to be traded to get incentives in his contract.

WPB Dawg Fan
I said all off season that the best thing FOR DA was for him to be traded from the Browns before the draft. He was going to be looking over his shoulder all year long...and any performances below his early '07 levels were going to lead to chants for Quinn....and let's face it...he DID need to improve over his finish to last year and Quinn IS a highly rated 1st round draft pick so it only made sense. With that said, DA and his agent signed the contract. Now they, and the Browns, have to deal with the results. In this case...the only way he gets back to being starter is if BQ totally bombs (thanks to his own struggles he gives BQ an excuse to struggle) or gets hurt. DA's contract is only a 3 yr contract....which means if the Browns dedicate themselves to BQ next year...DA will be on his final year going into 2010 and will likely even get LESS than they will this year. All this adds up to...if BQ does even moderately well, DA will be moved. If BQ struggles and/or gets hurt...DA will be cheap insurance in comparison to a 1st round draft pick...so he will stay. The odds say BQ will do well enough (in context to DA's performance) to allow the Browns to trade DA....and DA's contract is extremely movable. I would not be surprised to see a high 2nd...and under the right circumstances 2 2nds (like Schaub) from a club that feels he fits well (Minnesota anyone?). DA could remind a lot of people of Culpepper in that Minnesota offense!!!

Vegasdogg
Although if Quinn is NOT the clear cut starter he may ask to be traded to get incentives in his contract. Quinn will have the starting position next season, unless someone gives us what he cost, and that is possible since he is worth it. Unlike DA who most likely will not command a 3rd round pick, which is pathetic for a "Pro-Bowl QB."

lemosley01
quinn regresses when D's get the book on him. 6 games max.....DA saves his bacon. bank it. I agree. If your new QB who hasn't played as a starter in the NFL can't perform after 6 games, you might as well give up. It's not like we've given the current #2 25+ games to overcome the book the defenses got on him. DA doesn't see the field again as a Brown. bank it. Flugel
Since BQ is the starter and if he gets hurt do we see DA or Dorsey? maybe its Cribbs? Maybe it's Don Strock again. That guy used to be hilarious. When they used to tell Strock to go into the game they'd always have to say: "don't worry - you'll still make your tee time tomorrow." Coach if this game goes into OT I'm gonna miss my tanning appointment. I don't think I can stomach another game of DA. I think I'd rather see Dorsey QBing our offense from the same playbook he won something like 30 out of 32 starts with at Miami. - Tom F.

The best look at Don Strock was in that snow game against Houston when he's got a serious suntan from spending the previous 9 months on the golf course and its 10 degrees in Cleveland. Awesome game too....Strock started out shitty and led us on a comeback in the 4th quarter...

Vegasdogg
quinn regresses when D's get the book on him. 6 games max.....DA saves his bacon. bank it. Defenses already have the book on DA so there is no reason to go that route again. And by the way, defense's get the book on every QB, it is how that QB adjusts that makes the difference. It remains to be seen how Brady will perform. We already have seen how DA reacts --- not well.
roach
Chances of Quinn starting against the Texans- 96.4% Chances of DA coming in if Quinn gets injured- 92.3% Chances of DA starting the rest of our games if Quinn can't return for the rest of the season- 89.6% Chances that Howard from UK has a good time in Cleveland this weekend 97.5% Chances of Cowher coming here (until he makes a decision)- 50.0% Those are Roach's prediction, and he's sticking to them. OconRecon
Peter King on the ND Halftime Report says he talked to Quinn this afternoon and the finger is painful and it is effecting the amount of spin Quinn likes to put on the ball. There's a chance of DA if the weather creates more pain. Also, said something about a tendon injury in the finger as well. For the known mechanism of injury, an associated tendon injury is common and also heals without consequence.

Earle
This sounds as if Peter King is just trying to stir up some drama. Do you really think that Quinn, after waiting so long to become the starter is going to hand the reins back over to DA? This guy is a trooper, and will stay in there and fight for his job. Did you ever see him give up? Hell NO! Even when Hawke laid him out into the street he still came back with full composure. did Jared Quit? Hell No! that fat fuck kept going to Subway gagging down those bland subs and lost 4 dress sizes!
