Hey, I grew up in NE Ohio but I don't know any of these! My Grandma lived for a while next to the Garfield house in Mentor so for him I'll say Mentor but it probably wasn't called Mentor HS in those days!

That is a very well deduced guess. It is not right, but it was well thought out.

Check on McKinley and Green, however, I believe Douche HS is on the other side of the PA state line, thus is not in NE Ohio.

You could have added ESPN college football analyst/former Vikings RB Robert Smith. He's from Euclid but went to one of the private schools that recruited great football players on the east side and now I can't remember the school (doh!). He was also the ONLY one ever named "Mr Ohio" twice as the best football player in the state.

Bob806 got #1, #5, #17 sorta, and #21 right.

I didn't know Bo Schembechler was from around here, but I knew he went to Miami of Oh. My uncle played with him for two years, kind of cool (even if he coached that school up north).

Check for #20 (I guess I did leave Tom off).

On #18, the HS in question is in Mantua, but is not called Mantua HS

.

Seeing as how that's where I grew up im going to take partial credit and say Crestwood on this one but it's #17 not #18. Chrissie Hynde went to Firestone in Akron I think.

Right. Crestwood H.S. I don't know why they gave the school the name Crestwood. Do you?

My curiosity is peaked because the street I live on happens to be named Crestwood. (but not in Mantua)
