Contrary to common belief, that plane is not necessarily, and very likely ISN'T breaking the sound barrier. That just happens when the conditions are right for it. I say that it's not breaking the sound barrier, because it's a Blue Angel, and not even they are allowed to break the sound barrier over land in a noncombat/training situation.
