Dungy: Colts won’t take Browns lightly

Yeah, right. Wait 'til you check the game film, Tony. Make sure you're wearing a bib to catch the slobber.

Just roll your helmets out there. That ought to do it.

Tony Dungy vowed not to take the struggling Cleveland Browns lightly this week now that the Indianapolis Colts have completed a difficult four-game stretch.

The Colts (7-4) beat New England, Pittsburgh, Houston and San Diego in succession to move solidly into playoff contention.

The Browns (4-7), meanwhile, have lost three of their past four and are coming off a desultory 16-6 home defeat to Houston.

“One of the things I try not to do is read too much into the teams that you’re playing and what their records are and what the perception of them is,” Dungy, the Colts coach, said at the team complex today, about 12 hours after Indy’s stirring 23-20 victory in San Diego.

“The schedule comes out in May and in June people say, ‘They should win these,’ or ‘This is going to be a tough stretch.’ And you really never know, so you can’t assume that Pittsburgh’s going to be tough and San Diego is going to be tough but Cleveland isn’t.

“Cleveland is the only team that’s beaten the (New York) Giants all year, and they’ve played well in some Monday night games. They’ve been up and down a little bit, but if we think they’re not going to play well, we’re going to be surprised.”

As for injuries, Dungy said center Jeff Saturday suffered a strained calf muscle Sunday night, and his availability for the Browns game will be determined later in the week.

Peyton Manning is going to literally laugh in the middle of each play when he stands back there and sees the same 3 man rush and pathetic 8 man drop zone every play. It's going to be like playing a high school team for him.

Exactly. And no need to rush Bob Sanders back, either, as you can easily shut us down without him. Trust me.

Chubb, Lum has no clue about our defense because DA doesn't play on it. All he wants to do is throw in his little rant about DA anywhere he can. This was a thread talking about what Dungy said and "pop goes the Lum" with his little spittle spewing comments about how his qb has been wronged. Lum is an idiot and always will be...hopefully on the next teams board that DA ends up with.
