Title this portion of the thread "most frustrated" franchises. Here is the list of the major league teams that have gone the longest without winning a title be that since they last won or since the date of the origin of the franshise. In this case I will only list those which have not won in the last 40 years. Note here that two teams got themselves off this list by winning in the last year: the Saints and the Blackhawks:

1908 Chicago Cubs MLB

1947 Arizona Cardinals NFL (won while in Chicago)

1948 Cleveland Indians MLB

1951 Sacramento Kings NBA (won as the "Rochester Royals)

1954 San Francisco Giants MLB (won while in New York)

1957 Detroit Lions NFL

1958 Atlanta Hawks NBA (won while in St. Louis)

1960 Philadelphia Eagle NFL

1961 Texas Rangers no titles, Year of Origin as Washington Senators

1961 Minnesota Vikings no titles, Year of Origin

1961 Tennessee Titans AFL (won as Houston Oilers)

1962 Houston Astros no titles, Year of Origin as "Colt 45s"

1963 San Diego Chargers AFL

1964 Cleveland Browns NFL

1965 Buffalo Bills AFL

1966 Atlanta Falcons no titles, Year of Origin

1967 Toronto Maple Leafs NHL

1967 Los Angeles Kings no titles, Year of Origin

1967 St. Louis Blues no titles, Year of Origin

1967 Denver Nuggets no titles, Year of Origin

1968 New York Jets NFL

1970 LA Clippers no titles, Year of Origin (as Buffalo Braves)

The recent titles by the Lakers and Blackhawks result in the following stats:

1. This is Chicago's 26th overall title in the 4 major sports: 11 in football, 4 in baseball, 6 in basketball, and now 4 in hockey

2. This is Los Angeles/Anaheim's 20th overall title: 2 in football, 6 in baseball, 11 in basketball, 1 in hockey

Think about how close some of these teams have come to not being on this list:

The Arizona Cardinals lose in the last few seconds of the Super Bowl

The Indians take a lead into the bottom of the 9th of the 7th game of the WS

The SF Giants take a recent WS to the 7th game

The Tennessee Titans/Oilers are stopped "one yard short" in the last play of a SB

The Buffalo Bills lose 4 SBs in a row, especially the one that Scott Norwood misses the FG on the last play

The Bengals are defeated on a last minute drive by Joe Montana in a SB

There may be other stories like the above.

The last "Super Bowl" in which there has been a shutout was in 1964 when the Browns shut out the Colts 27-0.

What? Some people want to say that wasn't a "Super Bowl"? Well, it is if I want to say it is. The term "Super Bowl" is just a made up name for the NFL Championship game after all. I only extrapolated the fallacy a little.

Average winning score of title games since 1966?

Just a guess: 27-13.
