WRREBEL
Let's not give him coach of the year yet. He has done a great job these last two games. You have to give credit whre credit is due. This next game is so big for so many reasons. I'm sick of winning games agianst good teams and people still taking shots at the browns. We beat the saints, and the media says it was a fluke, we beat the pats and all of a sudden the best team in football the pats really aren't that good. I'm also sick of people saying that now they think colt isn't the guy. They say he is just managing the offense. Ok, so what has he done to show he isn't? If we beat the jets watch how media will be on our jock.. our players are also confident and with another big win, who the heck knows what could happen this year. Baleiveland! dogma
If they beat a NEW YORK team then the media will have to report it, because the sports world revolves around NY. Of course the focus will be on the Ryan bros. If the Browns beat the Jets the way they beat NO and the pats they should start getting some real attention. The Gipper
Don't forget that Mangini is the first coach in Browns history to have had previous head coaching experience prior to coming here. For once we may have brought in a guy that is able to learn from past mistakes and make decision and prepare a team from some experience. Actually Stan, Nick Skorich was the HC of the Eagles before he became HC of the Browns. Nevertheless, your point is made.
The Gipper
Actually, Nick Skorich (71-75) was head coach of the Eagles before helming the Browns. Mangini is only the second Browns HC to have previously held the position elsewhere. OK, Pete and RePete were in a boat. Pete fell out. Who was left. The Gipper
With Mangini and Ryan this team has a swagger and toughness that we have not seen since before the team left. The remaining teams on the schedule should be very afraid! New England had no answer for Hillis yesterday! We are not the pushover or guaranteed victory for the opposing team. Now when teams play the Cleveland Browns, they know that they will be in for one hell of a fight! Maybe Holmgren has some part in this too, no? shepwrite
No one will argue Bill Belichick is the benchmark standard of which all NFL coaches are compared. He was throughly THROTTLED by one Eric Mangini in every phase of the game..period. Have you ever seen Brady so frustrated and confused..not me. So enough of this negative Mangini crap. He has got this franchise moving in the right direction in season and a half..He has built a TEAM..A TEAM to be proud of, a team that is tough and smart and hard working. This is what Cleveland is all about..This team represents the people of Cleveland..Mangini is our coach..Good for us Good post... but any time one fan calls out another for having an opinion is a losing game. Then if Mangini flops next year, do all the "doubters" castigate all the "reacharounders?" Next thing we know, none of us can give an opinion because some evidence might later get us "called out." Mangini gave us PLENTY of reasons to be doubters. He seems like a different guy this year. I think the light went on when the weight came off. He's even kind of funny. DawgTracker
I think that mangini was severely stressed out acting as coach and GM. Now that he has a controllable workload and great people around him life is much easier.
