Tim Couch Pulls Out
Albert Einstein once said "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" That pretty much sums up the offensive strategy, I'd say. Alendor
whenever daboll gets uncomfortable he climbs back into his shell and calls a conservative game. this game it seemed to happen once watson got banged up. ever since that play his calling because simple and predictable, and offense didn't do anything since then. daboll just can't handle any kind of pressure, he folds like a cheap suit the moment the going gets tough. if he can get a good lead, like vs NE he keeps things somewhat creative, however if the game is close, you know our offense will get nothing done, as daboll will just run, run, pass, punt. USFBrown
Here's an idea... throw the fcking ball to Evan Moore. Even if he's covered he usually catches. I don't get it, our 2 minute drill is good. Why not run the fcking two minute drill all game? I'm just super pissed, drove from Orlando to Jville to watch this pile of shit offensive play calling. It's embarrassing to get all these opportunities and turn overs and still lose. I thought we were making progress, but this just took us back a whole lot. Carolina Brownie
I completely agree. By the way, don't talk shit about your team. You get yelled at for doing it because the Browns are so perfect.

I certainly wont disagree that dabs often freaks out way to soon and way to easy and he has a tendency to turtle up and play to lose at the first major signs of trouble, however we have to consider that there is more film footage on colt and we have no WRs and our beatup and makeshift O-line often did not give colt the time for anything to break open or even to develop nor did they create the holes or conditions to spring hillis, in my mind everything just went bad on both sides of the ball with all the injuries, if not for ward, haden ,elam and brown we wouldnt have even been in this game... We are in a rebuild and we are banged up, this is the time of year not having good depth really hurts!

And I know everyone is banged up this time of year, but we're really banged up and we don't have the guys replace the injured ones yet.

S. Brown missed tackles all game and Rubin played his ass off up front. the defense played well all things considered, thanks to our solid depth. i agree about the offense for the most part tho. Hoss
The problem I have is the pass plays didn't include any quick hitting slants to the WR or circle routes to the RB. The pressure was not an adjustment Daboll and Warhop made, but they still included 5 step drops in the game plan. It was just silly watching McCoy drop back right into the pressure the OL (and coaches) failed to pick up. Plus, today they gave up on the run to soon I think. 21 carries for Hillis today, on the road, against a team not known for stopping the run, was not what I was looking for. Yes they were stopping the run, but they also sacked McCoy 6 times, flushed him four other times, and hurried him on most of this throws. No screens? No quick slants? No shallow crosses? The kid is playing on the road, so how about taking some heat off of him and get the ball out quicker once you see his isn't having the time for those 5 step drops? Sure nobody expected the Jaguars - and their 14 sacks in 9 games, to rush the passer this well. But guess what, that is what ADJUSTMENTS are for, coach. We are in a rebuild and we are banged up, this is the time of year not having good depth really hurts! ya, i completly agree, however his playcalling when he gets scared does the opposite of trying to make up for our weaknesses. ya, maybe colt does have footage on him now, well maybe don't do a predictable run run, and leave him with 3-10 where they know his has to pass. thats the issue, doesn't matter how good we are, if they know we're gonna run on 1st and 2nd 90% of the time, and stop it, they know we will pass on 3rd and 10 100% of the time. shit 1 good play action when hes in turtle mode could be a big gain. god knows they'll bit on it if your last 10 1st downs have been runs up the middle.
