Hats off to Jaguars

I gotta give some credit to the Jaguars, they stuffed Hillis time and time again and made us beat them with our putrid receivers and we couldn't. The Jags dominated both sides of the line all day long.

We didn't deserve that win. All those gifts and we still got beat. The Jaguars are a much better team.

Exactly! Even though their offense turned the ball over 6 times, their defense did what it had to do to prevent a lot damage from the turnovers. There is a lot to be excited about with this team, it just isn't all there yet but there are several pieces that I like.

We should have won. All those great turnovers and we still got beat. Mojo Drew is much better against a worn out defense at the very end of a game and got lucky.

Thats my version :D

Well said. Obviously, the Browns have injury, play-calling and execution issues but let's not take anything away from the Jags.

Here's a team without a fan base who is the tongue-in-cheek joke of the NFL. They have a good coach and I don't care what anyone says...when Garrard isn't pressured, he can win games. He's a tough SOB and he's got a tremendous running back in MJD. They've had quality wins this year. They are much better than people give them credit for.

You are the only team with injuries.

We are only missing our best pass rusher in Kampman.

I hope you don't count on McCoy being your franchise QB. That kid is softer than an 80 year old man in a cold swimming pool.

How the hell would you know? No one's making excuses for the injuries. Every team has them.

The Browns are a team whose level of play this year has risen dramatically, but there are still holes to fill. The Jags just seemed to exploit every weakness we have. They were very well prepared & deserved to win, but we were in it 'till the end.

We're getting there.

You want to talk down McCoy? How about that INT machine you have in the backfield named Garrard. If our offensive could have done something today you'd be crying in your beer over Garrard's shitty performance.

I'm sure you'll be a Dolphin fan within 5 years.

Lol, the point is your offense didn't. Garrard might've had a bad day, with 2 of the ints on the WRs, but he still found a way to drive down the field and tie it up.

Colt McCoy is pure garbage and will be exposed more and more as the season goes on. It's hilarious that you all think he's the answer.

Anyway, good game! It was hard fought but the better team came out with the W. :D

Please- the Jags had the perfect D. Stack 8-9 in the box and dare the Browns crummy WRs to beat you.

One INT in miracle time on a ricochet- and Colt sucks? Garrard has a game like that against a playoff contender- and you'll get beat by 30.

PS Noticed plenty of blue seats masquerading as fans- LA No Way? Get used to the idea with that kind of (lack of) fan support.

way to show up late after a tough win and cherry-pick his post, garbage classless opposing team fan.

wow, one injury! that certainly legitimizes your jerky post! do us a favor, go suck something and forget this web address even exists.

Dear Smug as Fukk at 2 am,

crawl back into the hole you crept out of, the troll position is already filled here.

is this what most Jags fans are like? they see a thread giving them satisfaction and they feel empowered to register on our board after the win and talk unnecessary smack?!?!?

all i see are some cowards who show up late to rub it in that didn't have the confidence (balls) to register last week and do it then. nuke em, mods.

No, "most" Jags fans aren't like that. But every team has childish, instigator fans who will troll like that because they have nothing better to do with their sorry life, I guess.

I'll go ahead and apologize for newjags and fanmatt, since they probably aren't man enough to come back here and do it themselves.

Now, getting to the game...Jags should have lost that game, even though our defense turned in its best performance of the year. Turnovers, turnovers....same thing happened earlier this year (6) vs. the Chargers and we weren't so lucky.

I moved to Alaska from Jville 10 years ago, and was watching the game over at my brother's house yesterday. I knew it would be a slugfest, since browns/jags games usually are. Cleveland had already whipped NO and NE (badly, in NE's case). I had butterflies throughout the game, which got worse with every turnover of course.

IMHO, Colt McCoy is the real deal. He's very young and still learning, but has great instincts and will only get better. His escape for that Hillis TD pass was amazing. Those 2 Jags posters earlier might not have had anything good to say about McCoy, but if he was our starting QB the would be defending him.

Also, Hillis is the real deal. Reminds me of Alstott from TB, or maybe your own Jamal Lewis. He gave a stiff-arm on one run to the left that completely flattened one of our defenders. If he can stay healthy, he'll be probowler.

Your team does have a few issues, just like ours does. I know you were out a few starters due to injuries, like we were. I think your OLine needs a little work. Our DLine is pretty bad, but we managed to get McCoy down 6 times, I think. Our secondary needs a lot of work, but your secondary (at east this game) looked decent to me. Heads up playing to get that many picks, and the agressiveness in stripping the ball and gangtackling paid dividends for you guys.

Your Dline looks good. You got to Garrard and pressured him many other times which caused bad passes (some of which became turnovers). It seemed like near the end of the game your defense didn't blitz as much. Blitzing was working for your team earlier, so why stop? Oh well...either way, it looks like Mangini has turned out a good product. I just hope for your guys' sake that he gets enough wins to stay on and see his effort yeild more results in the W/L column. You guys should be at least 5-5 now.

Anyway, thanks for the hard-fought game & insight afterwards.

ur right KJ, i guess they're (Jags fans) not all like that. B)

i can understand how a hard-fought win like that could get someone amped up to be honest. i know if i were a Jags fan i'd feel pretty satisfied. they were tenacious and really earned it yesterday.

that was quite a clear and unbiased review of the game, and pretty much the way I saw it as well.

that Garrard is one tough SOB. there was no quit in him. although the Browns were missing their signal-caller/primary right rusher in Scott Fajita and Robaire Smith, my favorite d-lineman he can still relate to what Brees and Brady experienced. 6 pix is a LOT to overcome and he took it all in stride and fought and still won that game.

your defense played awesome. i can't believe they stopped Hillis so well. our line couldn't make a hole for him and the Jags sealed the edge well too, he had nowhere to go. great adjustments by Del Rio.

Mangini and Daboll basically got outcoached Sunday. and if that weren't enough Maurice JD had a good game, and top pf squandered timeouts, missed field goals and an anemic offense we just couldn't finish.

but, it was still fun to watch and although i was sick about it yesterday, today i see a silver lining that we are one slot closer to that elite WR we desperately need and trust Heckert be able to get for us.

unlike us, the Jags are still in the hunt and made it happen, plain and simple. so congrats, Kodiak, and good luck down the stretch.

hopefully our guys take something from this and it pays some dividends later. our coaches can learn a lot from it too actually.

Well yeah, I'm satisfied with the team's performance, but we haven't won anything yet. Last year we were 7-5 with 4 games to play and got clobbered 4 consecutive times to end the season (once by your team). You guys beat the bejeezus out of us then, even though you had nothing to play for. You ran all over us, not giving us the respect you'd give a speed bump.

I'm very happy with our defensive play, and MJD ran hard all day. I just wish I could count on my team giving that kind of effort every week. Consistency has been a real issue for us since JDR took over.

Thanks for wishing us luck down the stretch, because we'll need it. I do not expect us to make the playoffs this year, and would be happy with 9-7 and just missing, but we'll see. GL to your team for the rest of the season. Will be very interesting watching Colt mature and the rest of the team gel around him.

You guys should get your 4th win hosting the Panthers this week. The following week will be a slugfest in Miami :) Should be a great game!

As a browns fan lving in florida i made my first trip ever to jacksonville for a game...

when i got to the tailgating sections is when reality hit...This is a tame bunch..and it felt like 1/4 of the fans were us browns fans...pretty impressive showing by the orange and brown overall..non playoff season etc..

the jag fans muscles grew as time expired of course.. and i took a little bit of crap heading back to my water taxi haha... also found it odd that the best seats in the stadium were half empty...

Our seats were great but that stadium is lacking in personality and whatever that middle school cheerleader thing is they do when they make a first down has got to go..its like watching a football game with the cast from Glee.

The offense sputtered run after run... Our old D coord Mel Tucker was dialing up the right scheme for the teal..and had a little chip on his shoulder...

But overall hanging with a ton of browns fans i have never met was soo much fun not even the loss could take that away..

Wish i could go every week...you friends back home in Cleveland enjoy it!

I was at the game too. Was at a Browns / Jags gamne 2 years ago as well and have to say, Jags fans are headed in the wrong direction.

Going in, a few were mouthy and trash talk. More than previous game. Comming out, too many were overnight heros.

Jags know they won that game by the skin, but also that we handed it to them. On the other hand, ANY team that gets 6 turnovers and turns up 3 pts. from those turnovers deserves to lose.

Most impressive of the entire game was Colt McCoy driving downfield FAST at game's last minute. Anybody who say this kid - and that's what he is a KID (tough for a kid at his age to jump in so soon, much less play likehe does) - isn't the real deal is completely short on Football smarts. We'd have won that game still if there hadn't been a juggle on reception at games end. Unreal given the lousy way we played. But I guess that's waht bothered me most about the Jags fans. They knew that game was a gift from a team that screwed the pooch way too often with little production - most definitely not the same crew that played N.O. or N.E. All of sudden, given a dumb luck break at games end, the fans are superstars. Give me a break !

As for our guys, while I REALLY like the production from Hillis, boring calls and used the same tools over and over. Need to mix up. Is Vickers not allowed to touch the football. From our success of recent, we are becoming entirely too predictable. Yes, the Jags prepared well for this game, but there wasn't much preparation needed. Control Hillis and pressure McCoy and we have nadda.

Off season need another strong RB and receivers.

Cudos to or defense... and Maurice Jones Drew. That guys is a beast.
