The Gipper
If the playoffs started today the following teams would be in: AFC: East: Jets with #1 seed (by virtue of their win over Pats) North: Ravens (by virtue of win over Steelers) South: Jaguars (by virtue of win over Colts West: Chiefs Wildcard: Patriots and Steelers NFC: East: Eagles North: Bears (by virtue of win over Packers) South: Falcons with #1 seed West: Seahawks Wild cards: Saints (best conf. record) and either TB Bucs or Packers (would need to go to strength of schedule to break tie Note this: every single one of the Browns losses this year have been to a team that is in line to make the playoffs, plus two of their wins have been over these teams. The only team they have played so far that is not in playoff position is the Bengals. That is why they have had by far the toughest schedule in the NFL. samoth
We will only play 3 more teams with losing records (Panthers, Bills, Bengals) this year. Dolphins are questionable at this point. That we have 3 wins with the talent on our team is a huge testament to coaching. I figure we'll end with 6 or 7 total assuming McCoy's injury isn't serious. I think we need 6 or 7 wins to keep Mangini's job.. Don't get me wrong, I like him as head coach.. I just think if we end the season with only 3 or 4 wins no matter how many close losses we have, it won't be enough to save his job.. That being said, we should win at least 3 out of our next 4 games.. so that would be our 6 or 7 wins with Bal and Pit left to go..
BROWNandORANGE
We will win the next couple of weeks. To be honest, we have 4 very winnable games. We play Carolina, Miami, Buffalo, and Cincinnati.
steelershittypros
what if the Browns were 10-0? The playoffs do not start for several weeks. what is the point of this thread?
The Gipper
what if the Browns were 10-0? The playoffs do not start for several weeks. what is the point of this thread? The point of the thread is to simply do a status report on the playoff race. I thought that much was obvious. Certainly it is not the FINAL status, merely interim. It is meant for entertainment and discussion purposes. It is a far better guage of what is going on in the NFL than these so called "power rankings".
