kshutchins
Brace yourselves! The holiday season is upon us. It's the season when excess seems to take over. We excessively eat, drink, watch tv, and groan about the woes of our various sports teams both real and virtual. I spent Thanksgiving in NYC and had dinner catered by Zabar's (yum). I was staying with my kids who have no TV so I was forced to watch the Macy's parade in person, attend a Broadway show and play Dominion instead of watching football. ::gasp:: I counted my blessings as you should too. If you're sitting in a comfortable chair, holding a beverage, staring at a computer screen, you have a lot to be thankful for even if your fantasy team is in last place and the Browns won't have a winning season. Confidential to everyone: Our very capable Heidi who writes the reports for League Three, will be out of commission for medical reasons over the next several days. She has submitted an abbreviated report and an extra Heidi Klum pic to tide you over until her return. Please add a note of encouragement in this thread to let Heidi know that she was missed. A warm "welcome back" would also be appreciated upon her return. I know Heidi wouldn't mind if you took the time to elaborate on the events in League Three while she's gone. Beanpot's League: There are only two weeks to go in the fantasy football regular season and only one team has clinched a playoff spot in Beanpot's League. Likewise it looks as though only one team is completely eliminated from snagging either a Championship or Consolation round position. Greenville Mayhem, the only team to have clinched a slot in the Championship round, defeated NavDawg's Browns 95-56. NavDawg has lost 5 in a row but still has claws out, clinging to a spot in the top 8 teams. T's Jelly Donuts managed to push past Zombo's WildDawgs 72-64. Zombo drops to #9 and will face Greenville Mayhem in Week 13. Beanpot seems to be peaking at just the right time. Arian Foster delivered 23 points, Tom Brady threw for 30 and Dwayne Bowe grabbed 40 point for Beans. Ballantyne Buckeyes took the beating 64-125 while Beanpot took home the Toyota and Viagra trophies. The Usual Suspects were clobbered by both injuries and opponent Calfox KosarDawgs. Vincent Jackson was unable to start for the Suspects after tweaking a calf muscle last Sunday night. The team staff, preoccupied with holiday festivities, failed to note the injury, leaving Miles Austin and his 14 points on the bench. Game time dealt another blow when Frank Gore experienced a hip injury that knocked him out for the rest of the game and the remainder of the season. The Suspects emerged from their holiday fog and alertly snagged Brian Westbrook to replace Gore at 6 am the morning after the game. Calfox leaped with joy over the performance of Peyton Hillis (36) who lead his team to a 112-91 victory. This win pushed Calfox into the #4 slot and dropped the Suspects to #5. Texas Chainsaw Massaquoi is hoping this victory is the start of a late season run. Jay Cutler (29) helped knock off Insert Clever Name 94-56. Dot the I dodged a bullet, winning against the favored Huskymania, 71-58. Dot the I hangs on to the #3 spot with the win. Oreo's League: Oreo's Team got lucky this week and pulled out a win 67-50 over favored dirty hands. Andre' Johnson (18) and Eli Manning (16) saved the day for Oreo after Detroit's defense (-3) was owned by New England. Dirty hands lost Frank Gore for the season and missed the grab for Brian Westbrook who was snagged by Choo Choo's. "Thank goodness for wide left!" Kentucky Barn Burner hooted in celebration of the Browns' victory. He also celebrated a 69-62 win over Bronx Browns which secured a place in the Championship round of the playoffs. DD's already had a playoff spot in his pocket and rested on his laurels, losing to The Hammer. After winning two in a row, The Hammer has his sights set on pounding hammertime, who has also won two in a row. Choo Choo's are currently in 4th place but lost to Kamac19. Wes Welker (26) helped Kamac cut off Choo Choo's 77-71. Beanpot always seems to be in the mix during playoff time and this season is no exception. Beans enjoyed double digits from every player on his team including Jamaal Charles and James Tamme with 17 each. Peyton Hillis' 36 fantasy points were not enought to help Ben There Raped That who lost to Beanpot 81-129. Beans, having already snatched the Viagra trophy in League One, takes home a second here in Oreo's League. Hammertime wins the Toyota trophy this week by outgunning Lambdo's Air Show. The Air Show seems to be spiraling nose first out of the playoffs, having lost 4 straight. Hammertime gave extra servings of turkey to Matt Cassel (29) and Carolina RB Mike Goodson (22). Hammertime 108, Lambdo's Air Show 57. The Heidi Report: If you skipped down this far and missed the part about why this is the Readers' Digest version of Heidi's usual report, please scroll up and read "Confidential to everyone." The Great Zomboni: <---Harry Potter Tribute Well, I doubt anybody got past the Heidi picture this week, but here is the League 4 rundown regardless: Mr. Freeze's Snowmen remained in fiorst place and became the first team to clinch a playoff spot thanks to their 81-73 victory over Jumping Jack Flash. Knowshon Moreno was high scorer for the Snowmen, while the Flash did MFS a favor by leaving Brandon Marshall in the lineup on a week he didn't play. Bermeck's KY Hicks kept the heat onthe Snowmen by pounding Polk High 101-74. Dwayne Bowe has emerged as a superstar for the Hicks, this time garnering a whopping 42. Team Inglewood Jack moved into sole possesion of third place by virtue of drawing Huskymania this week. Jack coasted to a 70-43 win behind 21 from Brandon Lloyd as the Huskymania once again started two guys on IR. Don't wake him up now, season's almost over. Calfox's Kosar Dawgs once again rode the Great Peyton Hillis to victory, this time whipping the Big Bad Dawgs 115-90 behind Hillis' 36 and tom Brady's 30. BBD wasted a good effort by Kyle Orton (24). TX Chainsaw Massaquois stayed mathematically alive at 6-6 be beating the hapless Real McCoy's 93-64 behind yet another big daw from Arian Foster (24) who is was easily the steal of the year this season. With their young leader sidelined, the McCoys turned to his replacement Jake Delhomme ... and we all no how that worked out (0). Somehow the Werewolves of Linden have managed to stay in last place behind the McCoy's, this time falling to the 6-6 Flea Flickers 93-70. The Flickers kept their postseason hopes alive by starting off the week with 26 from Wes Walker on Turkey Day. Two weeks left in the regular season .... good luck! kshutchins
where is the heidi report ? other than just scores If you'll actually read everything except the line that includes the name of your team, you'll find out. Start at the top and pay close attention to the paragraph that starts in BLUE.
Beanpot
where is the heidi report ? other than just scores Is this parody? Get well soon, Heidi! You're a HUGE part of these fantasy leagues and there's not a CHANCE they'd be successful without you. Every thinking person wishes you a quick recovery. And every idiot, let's call them..."why can't we win"...wishes you'd make them a sandwich. While telling them about their fantasy team. Grapes are soon to follow. Cowsrus
Okay, here we go. I may not be in one peice anymore BUT I'm glad to say that I came home today. I wanna say thank you to Calfoxcw for the well wishes and a GREAT BIG thank you to Kathy and Beanpot!! They are 2 great people and I'm glad to do fatnasy sports with them year after year and to converse off of this board as well. Now, to other business I'd like to address. I don't usually do this but the spirit has moved me shall we say and I'm just gonna go with the feeling. I have played fantasy sports for about 10 years now. I'm not the best and only have a couple of those all too vital virtual trophies but I play because I enjoy the competition, the fun, most of the people and reading this board and hopefully learning something from the folks that know so much more than I do about it. Those that know me per say (SP) know that I don't quit no matter how bad I'm doing, I don't complain, I don't whine, I don't give in or up and I NEVER complain if I am not mentioned and NO ONE has ever complained about me or what I do. As a matter of fact, Beanpot is the one many moons ago who got me started in this fantasy sports stuff and since then, hopefully he and Kathy and some of the other like Stan and Zombo and Rich and all the regulars know what kind of person I am and hopefully that is a decent person. A few years ago Beanpot asked me if I wanted to be Commishoner of one of the fantasy football leagues and I said yes although I didn't know if I could. And with that came writing the weekly report which I have come to take as a fun thing and do my best every week to make it as enjoyable as I can. Kathy has always been a big supporter and never had a harsh word. Now last week, I turned in a shorter report than normal for reasons only 2 people here know and they said that I didn't even need to worry about sending anything but I said no, I don't want to let my guys down. That is how I refeered to the managers in my league, my guys. I know some like reading it and wanted to at least send something so they were not left out. Kathy has said before that we do have lives away from this board and fantasy sports and she is so damn right. I have ALWAYS been fair and ALWAYS try to encourage the managers in my league and always say something positive no matter how bad their team may suck!! So when someone from my league cant read an entire report, especially one whom I have always stayed positive even when his team why cant we win was aptly named, says something about not having anything other than the scores then I say to bad so sad. Sorry you were not highlighted this week, no one was. If anyone thinks that I don't have anything more important than this, rethink it. I don't have to do this. But I will do it as long as they keep asking me. Playing in a league and for the BrownsBoard is also more than just about you. It's always fun to read about everyone else and what is going on in ALL the leagues and the offer to say something about the happenings in league 3 was out there. If you wanna hear about yourself then write about yourself. Others will read it because that's what they do, read abouth other teams and that is why Kathy and Zombo and everyone else contributes. This is the part where I would usually apologize for my rant but I am not in an apologizing mood. Be a team player, if not, go play golf.
kshutchins
Glad you said your piece, Heidi. When I used to be the only one writing these reports, I didn't mention every team each week. You really had to do something outstanding to merit space in the writeups. I guess "everyone" has gotten spoiled.
rich4eagle
Way to girl, ie Heidi! Well done! I love your reports even if they are only scores or a diatribe. Keep up the good work. Cowsrus
sorry i didnt read the top part of the post i wish you to get better and i feel bad now i usually just scroll down to our league info because the top part has nothing to do with your league so i usually just skip the top part and i havent checked this topic for a few days to see you guys lash back at me like this Thank you. I appreciate it. Not doing as well as I thought I should be but it's one day at a time. I also understand that you like to read our league first but Kathy and Zombo work hard at sharing their league's happening and it's ALWAYS fun to read their stuff because they and the other players in their leagues are a part of this board too and we are a very bizzare and dysfunctional family and like to hear the news and we all laugh at ourselves and everyone else so it's fun and courtesy as well to read the whole WOOF WOOF report. Now let's get back to the final few weeks of this season. It'll be done before we know it until next year.

Zombo --KS is a a little slow with the results this week ... could it be because she is licking her wounds for the first time all season after someone Guaranteed she would go down?? Thanks Zombo! And I'm sure Kathy will get the reports up when she can. Things do happen. Hope she's feeling okay.
