not a Browns fan, but it has just always irked me that you guys don't have anything on your helmets. I see it as a flaw in the league as a whole--something's missing. I could definitely understand it if you had had great success with that look, that would change everything-- but you are one of a handful of teams never to have been in the SB, despite having been in the league since before the SB era.

the logos I am suggesting are

1) the interlocking 'C' & 'B' that you guys had at midfield several yrs back (not the CB from 1966 or so)

2) the player's number. You had this in the late 50's. I think Jim Brown played with this look. Doesn't that give it enough traditional pedigree?

In either case, the logo could be small if that would make you happier. In the case of the interlocking 'C' and 'B', it could even be on the back instead of the side (kind of like the 'V' on the Fresno State helmets).

Also in either case, the logo could be on one side only (unless you go with the back-logo idea)

and it irks us that asses like you insist on it being an issue. How's the logo working out for the Lions?! You make the assumption that the performance on the field is related somehow to the color and fashion of the clothes our team is wearing. They're UNIFORMS....not PLAYBOOKS! Nothing wrong with a traditional look!

Ah ... another knucklehead who thinks history began with the Superbowl. I can't speak for the others but I could not possibly care less if you are irked.

Admittedly, the only connection between logos and performance is the voodoo hex that I put on you guys because of this very issue. But its been effective since 1964. Besides, do you REALLY want your rallying cry to be "well, the Lions are worse"?

Don't worry, though. The curse only applies to football. I'm pulling for the Cavs since the LeBron fiasco.

And you can't accuse me of thinking that history begins with the SB era, when I specifically referred to earlier history in the original post.

Here's a nice helmet suggestion:

Why don't you go turn off your computer and go f**k yourself.

Stop talking about all this "tradition" bullshit. Having no logo on our helmet is our tradition, its classy. A logo doesn't have shit to do with going to the Super Bowl.

Get the hell outta here F**kboy.

If u put a new option in the poll called "How about I just shut the f**k up." that would be the best choice.

We got a logo it is bright orange on both sides of the helmet covering most of it. It is awesome and the biggest logo in the NFL! Quite classy as well!

Right Rich- every year the "fashion police" want us to join the crowd. They're missing the point- no logo IS the Browns logo, it's unique in the NFL- and Randy Lerner has said as long as he owns the team it's going to stay the way.

There's plenty of precedent on the college level (most notably Penn State) that their unis are "boring". Notre Dame doesn't have anything on their helmets, and Ohio State's are plain until they start sticking buckeye leaves on them.

All this being said, I wouldnt mind some changes to the uni but not the helmet. I liked the orange jerseys and the orange pants. Brown jersey and brown pants would be cool.

The Brown pants have been permanently retired- (almost universally hated) and as to the orange jerseys, they make the Browns look too much like Clemson.

Always some fool calling for cheerleaders and logos . What attracted them to the team if they aren't happy with what they ARE ?

Logos and cheerleaders be damned .

Just win baby

Whoa, whoa, whoa there....

Logo on the helmet be damned, yes. But cheerleaders? Why on earth any red-blooded man would NOT want hot cheerleaders is beyond me. During halftime or other parts of the game where it's slow to have something nice to watch - why not? And furthermore, wouldn't it be nice to have them milling around in the various bars or other parts of the stadium before the game?

Maybe it's just me, but I have NOTHING against welcoming cheerleaders with both arms...and/or other body parts if need be.....!

The Browns have had 8 championships with that look. The Browns don't need no f88king logo. It isn't the lack of a logo that has not caused this team to win a SB.....it has been poor ownership.

I love the Browns style, everything about the traditions of the Browns seems to stick its middle finger up to this corporate, rotten world we live in. The Browns are a marketing mans nightmare and may we always stay that way. The Browns are the coolest looking team in ALL pro sports. B)

lol seriously not trying to be mean or insult you in any way, but that post just reeks of virgin! Personally I'd rather look at game stats and pound some beers at halftime rather than looking at some fake plastic bimbo dance around (theres a time and place for that, and its not during a football game!). As for the logo..umm, our logo is an orange helmet! It would look pretty dumb to put a picture of an orange helmet on an orange helmet.

This from a guy that can make a seal brown and orange Union jack. It just goes to show that there are oh so many creative ways that a teams colors etc. can be represented that it doesn't matter if there is a silly logo on our helmet or not.

Having a stupid logo would only stifle that creativity.

How true. My Browns ballcap has an orange helmet. My Browns tobaggan hat has an orange helmet on it. My 2 Browns polo shirts have an orange helmet on it. My Browns t-shirts have orange helmets on it.

And here is a true story:

Three weeks back when I was sitting on the beach in Puerto Vallarta a guy comes by on the beach peddling serapes with sports team logos. (the beaches are swarming with peddlers trying to sell shit down there). I saw he had a Packers serape and a Bears serape and even some CFL team serapes (because next to peddlers the next most populous group in PV are Canucks). I asked him if he had a Browns serape. He didn't have one with him but he told me he could get one and bring it the next day. He said it would cost something like the equivalent $25.00-30.00. I said we would see. The next day he comes back around, and yes, he pulls out a Cleveland Browns serape. So far so good.....it is brown and orange and white and has the Browns orange helmet displayed prominently in the center....except, written on the helmet is the word "Cleveland". I told the guy "wait a minute, this thing is defective. The logo is wrong. The word Cleveland does NOT appear on the orange helmet of the Cleveland Browns logo. Anyone and everyone who is a fan of the Browns or knows anything about the NFL knows that. That would be like printing the word "Dallas" right in the middle of the star that is the Cowboys logo. You need to tell whomever is making this product that it is defective". So I told him I would only give him half price for a defective product. He could take it or leave it. Well, he took it, and I only paid like $12.00 for the serape.

Nevertheless, perhaps at our next Tailgate party I will wear the serape with the defective Cleveland Browns logo on it.

Pardon my ignorance but what is a serape?
