ClevelandBigDawg
OK, this gears more towards the Mangini haters out there. I personally am indifferent. Say we do fire Eric Mangini this offseason and bring in another coach. You know what they always say about new regimes, new quarterbacks. Would you rather draft yet another top round quarterback like Mallet, Locker, or Newton with a new coach or Stick with Mangini and McCoy, and draft a WR like AJ Green, Julio Jones, or Justin Blackmon? Speedyd900rr
Id stick it out with Mangini and Mccoy. They both show promise so why trade that for something that might make us worse off?
CantonLegend
after seeing all the progress the team has made this season, it would be foolish to fire the coach and bring in yet another QB to start over with again the organization lacks consistancy and commitment. stick with your guy. you brought him in for a reason.....now let him do what hes gettin paid to do

Stick with Mangini & McCoy, draft some speed at LB or a difference-making D-lineman. I wouldn't be opposed to drafting a WR either, if it's Green or Julio Jones. I still think we have defensive shortcomings (mostly a lack of speed). IMHO, drafting a QB isn't a top priority right now.
USFBrown
Let's all just remember, that we have played only 3 teams with losing records this season and we lost to one of them. We've done very well with the journeymen and draft picks. We even found some diamonds this season. We need to continue to build on the solid foundation Mangini/Heckert has created. ClevelandBigDawg
I agree that we stick with Mangini and McCoy and get McCoy some weapons for him. Adding some speed on defense also sounds like a good idea, or a bruiser of a DL.
WRREBEL
I'm confused, if we get rid of mangini, mccoy has to go with him? Oh must be a new part of the new cba. Yeah its weird cause jim mora got fired as coach of peyton manning and manning was allowed to stay with the colts. Weird wonder why the colts didn't draft another qb. I guess the broncos are going to draft another qb in the first rd

I say stick with Mangini...McCoy will do well, no matter who the coach is...in my opinion. If Mangini happens to get himself fired, and a new coach comes in, there is no way we should draft a qb in the first round....again. Even if the new guy doesn't like McCoy.....you can't predict the future. If we need a qb, third round or later is the way to go. While I'm not of the opinion that Mangini is Vince Lombardi, I really don't understand why some of these posters can't wait to see him leave. What's with the hatred toward this guy? Is it personal?....you don't like his looks?...what is it?

McCoy is a 3rd round QB that a new coach would have no loyalty to McCoy. This is not saying we will get rid of McCoy, it is saying we could draft a QB to start over him. The Broncos could very well draft a QB in the first round, Tim Tebow is a project. You are comparing apples to oranges.

tshirtfan
And that is precisely what "new regimes" do. A 3rd round pick is not a high pick for a QB, and there would be no loyalty to him. It's a very high pick for a backup. Which is what you were suggesting. I think the only way the Browns draft an early round QB next year is if Colt plays out the season poorly. Then they basically shop him around saying "he's legit, but not a cold weather guy." miktoxic
aren't there only three games left? even if colt mccoy is healthy enough to play out the season, is three games enough to decide his future? the higher beings drafted him for a reason, third round or not. even everybody's new favorite ex-head coach GRUDEN was sucking his dick in the pre-draft qb reports. you guys that just want to fire mangini and replace him with some new, can't miss, we'll win it all with this guy in the first year, are idiots. how many years will you give the new guy to implement his system, get the players he wants? pleez. you make no sense at all.
