The Gipper
If the Playoffs started today, the following teams would be in: AFC: East : Patriots with #1 seed. They have clinched a playoff spot, but have not yet clinched the division North: Steelers. They have clinched a playoff spot but have not clinched the division. They have the division lead because of a better division record, 4-1 vs. 2-2, over the Ravens South: Colts. They have the lead over the Jags due to a better record in common games 5-4 vs. 4-5 West: Chiefs Wildcards: Ravens with #5 seed (by virtue of win over Jets). Jets. Still in the hunt: Jags for South title, currently with same record with Colts. Chargers for West title, 1 game behind Chiefs. Both are technically in the hunt for a wildcard if Jets and Ravens should lose both remaining games and they would win both games. Same is true for Colts if they don't win the South. NFC: East: Eagles North: Bears who have clinched their division South: Falcons with #1 seed. They have clinched a playoff spot, but not the division West: Rams, by virtue of victory over Seahawks Wildcards: Saints, Giants Still in the hunt: Packers and Bucs for the wildcards, 49ers for the West division title. Big games this week: 49ers vs. Rams (yes a 5-9 team vs. a 6-8 team in week 16 is a big game); Giants vs Packers, very critical for NFC wildcard race. Saints vs. Falcons Supremacy in NFC South is still at stake.
