Mark O
He's free to go... I'll take John Fox to run the defense with whoever the new coach is going to be.
PeytonHillis
He's free to go... I'll take John Fox to run the defense with whoever the new coach is going to be. John Fox? This guy doesn't even know how to coach.
Mark O
Really? doesn't know how to coach? Seems to me I watched him coach his team in a super bowl not too long ago. He'd be an improvement over watching our defense get ass raped play after play for the last few weeks.
Mark O
71-57 heading into this season. 5-3 in the playoffs and he doesn't know how to coach? Who in your opinion does know how to coach?
PeytonHillis
Well Sean Payton, Bill Belicheck, Jim Caldwell, Lovie Smith, Mike Tomlin, Mike Smith, and Andy Reid.
Mark O
Well Sean Payton, Bill Belicheck, Jim Caldwell, Lovie Smith, Mike Tomlin, Mike Smith, and Andy Reid. And who on that list is going to be available genius? I'm sure Mike Tomlin or Belicheck will be happy to step down from their current HC positions to take our defensive coordinator job. Pumpkin Eater
Does Lovie Smith really have such a better record than John Fox? Not remarkably, if at all. Caldwell? Mike Smith?
Mark O
He clearly just picked the coaches who are going to the playoffs this year and picked them as better coaches. It's a ridiculous argument since my initial statement was about bringing Fox in as DC should Ryan leave for a HC job or quite possibly get fired with the rest of the coaches. Pumpkin Eater
I'd take Fox as a head coach. Consider Carolina is the youngest football team in the NFL and their starting QB shit the bed then went on IR, their running backs were injured, and many injuries on D wile already being the youngest football team. Mark O
I agree...I think the guy is a real good coach and his teams always play hard. They just stink this year. I like him as a coach but I'd really rather see us go after an offensive minded guy for head coach if we're looking for a new one which I think we will be. Pumpkin Eater
True, I don't believe that Fox runs a WCO, which is what Holmgren will be looking for.
Tim Couch Pulls Out
True, I don't believe that Fox runs a WCO, which is what Holmgren will be looking for. He wouldn't be coming in to run the show, only as DC.
BelieveinMangini
I would trade Rob Ryan for Jon Fox right now!

bringbackbrownie2
Well Sean Payton, Bill Belicheck, Jim Caldwell, Lovie Smith, Mike Tomlin, Mike Smith, and Andy Reid. I actually don't think Caldwell, Smith, or Tomlin are great coaches... Caldwell and Tomlin benefit from a franchise QB and good overall teams. Smith was on the hot seat this yr until mike martz came in as OC and saved his butt...
Mark O
Hey you asked which coaches are good. You never said available. You're an idiot. Paul Brown, Vince Lombardi, and George Halas are great coaches as well. But who xxxxing cares because they're dead and cant help our team.
BROWNandORANGE
And who on that list is going to be available genius? Lovie Smith. This is the final year of his contract.

bringbackbrownie2
Lovie Smith. This is the final year of his contract. I have stated this before, but unless the bears get blown out in the 2nd round of the playoffs (they are the 2 seed), Lovie will get signed to an extention... He is not any better than Mangini though...
BigBrownsFan
I'd take Fox as a head coach. Consider Carolina is the youngest football team in the NFL and their starting QB shit the bed then went on IR, their running backs were injured, and many injuries on D wile already being the youngest football team. Yet, Tampa Bay is the FIRST TEAM EVER to have a winning record with 10 rookies in their starting lineup..... next please

Nw220
Ill take John Fox as are Defensive Coordinator if they wanna have Rob Ryan as there HC seems like a fair exchange to me
Unsympathetic
Interviewing for a job and actually getting it are two very different things. Coordinators in this league do exist who have received interviews for over a decade before actually getting a shot at a HC gig. I would not be surprised to see Carolina not offer him.
