TheClevelandSound
Just got news Luck is returning to Stanford. This may change the entire draft board. Uh oh. http://twitter.com/#!/GusRamsey (Adam Schefter retweet) "andrew luck is returning to Stanford!" "I am committed to earning my degree in architectural design from Stanford" EDIT: ESPN Tweet: "QB Andrew Luck will not declare for 2011 NFL Draft and will return to Stanford next year." http://twitter.com/#!/SportsCenter

ClevelandFanForLife
good for luck. it is well known that all men named andrew are geniuses and this just proves it. this will completely change the draft. i could see carolina drafting whatever player is the best overall now. maybe aj green just to see if clausen can do anything with some weapons. steel88
Good for him. Not everyday you get a chance to study at a school like stanford. Doesn't really effect the browns though, we have our QB.

Squintz
I'm in the quick minority here. This kid can return to Stanford ANY time he wants for the rest of his life and finish the year on his degree to go design structures. But what he CAN'T do is guarantee he will be the first pick in the draft in 2012. It's not something he should risk IMO. I know it still worked out for guys like Bradford, but why place yourself at risk? There is one thing he can't do, and that is IMPROVE his draft position. I commend him on honoring a contract and all, but if it were me or my son, I'd suggest otherwise.
Squintz
The ONLY reason I could see that he wants to come back is because of the labor dispute. I'll give him that. Otherwise he shouldn't risk himself.
Louisville Slugger
I am usually all for these guys staying in school but this kid just made a horrible decision. He was in a great draft class to go #1 overall. Its not like he couldnt get his degree later on down the road. He seems like a good kid and I hope he has another chance to go #1 overall next year but thats highly unlikely.

He is taking a HUGE risk.. how could you pass up guaranteed mulit-millions of dollars to finish out one year?! Especially when he can go back to stanford ANYTIME. I can guarantee any one of us would take the money.. how could you not?! After all, isn't that what we are after?? He has a talent that can make him MILLIONS.. AHH what is he thinking!!?? Anyways.. whatever.. eff him
jrb12711
based on having to watch the panthers this year every week, they have needs in literally every position except running back. A.J. Green is good, but not number one overall good. I'm just spitballing, but I see them taking Da'Quan Bowers now or Nick Fairley if he has a strong showing in the title game I bet Jimmy Clausen is pretty happy right now though haha. He might just get to be shitty for the panthers for another season after all.

PlayoffsIN09
Peyton Manning was projected #1 in 1997 to complete his degree. He then went #1 in 1998. Just hope Luck doesn't get injured. Seems like a guy with class.

VENOM
Everytime I see a sure fire 1st rounder stay in school I think of Michael Bush of Louisville staying for his sr. year and blowing his knee out. I hope he stays healthy. He throws like a pro QB right now. He throws long and touch passes like a nfl vet! My bet he doesn't like his options where he would end up playing if he went pro. ClevelandFanForLife
wow, i just checked out a couple of panther forums, and they all pretty much say the same thing: first they are crying about not getting him and starting with the "why us? why us?" sympathy bull[Mark May]. then most of them go onto say "[censored] him and whatever he does. i hope he gets hurt and never plays." what a bunch of assholes. they are getting mad at a 21 year old kid that was never theirs to begin with for going back to school. grow up panther fans. WRREBEL
WOW.. Im shocked.. It may cost him money upfront, but the kid has to do what he feels in his heart. Good for him! Let me tell you just because you get the money up front doesnt mean your life is set.. ALA Ryan Leaf When I saw the interview with him at the orange ball game, the dude looks young. He is a humble.. besides if we hire Marty Morniwigg this guy will be our next year

DieHardBrownsFan
Everyone on here is acting like its a done deal that he will be a great NFL QB. Lots of bust first round picks as QB. I think he is making the right decision.

The Gipper
It effects the draft board, which in turn effects the Browns. Maybe u need to go to Stanford My son may want to get his post-grad degree from Stanford. (they have one of the best biology post-grad degree program in the country). My wife's uncle was a language professor at Stanford. It is one of the best school's going. Would this mean Harbaugh may stay there as well? Dumbest decision in the history of dumb decisions. If he drops 10 spots for the 2012 draft, or worse, it will cost him 10s of millions - he could finish his education whenever, but with a guaranteed $55-65 mill in the bank. That is a horrendous decision. I can't believe he would be that stupid. You never walk away from a guaranteed $60 mill. because whatever happens after that will be moot. Ask Locker if he should have stayed this year. Compare a guaranteed $15 mill to $60 mill. and get back to me.

My ex's brother is named Andrew and he was just busted for blowing his inheritance on a $1000 a day Heroin habbit. Turns out he sold to a few cops and they took his house, car, bikes, and everything else he owned. Glad I havn't seen him in 6 years.
longhorn
Maybe he's one of those rare breeds that thinks about tradition, honor, school spirit, etc.....or maybe he knows there will be a protracted NFL labor dispute and he won't get paid anything next year anyway. I would think Harbugh has the inside scoop about what's likely to happen in the NFL and advised him on what to do. Perhaps the plan is for him to go where Harbaugh goes, but in 2012? Luck has plenty of money in his future even if he never plays a down of NFL football. He can still accomplish as much, with pride, etc. with $60 mill. guaranteed over risking it. He could be one hit away from not even making the NFL. You don't blow off $60 mill when it is right there for the taking and may never be there again. You just don't do that.
