Justin Blackmon vs. Prince Amukamara

Yeah, I think if somebody maybe heard that Blackmon or someone who looks something like him might possibly maybe have a little bit of an attitude... or maybe it was altitude?... we should pass.

Man, Dez Bryant was just a nightmare for the Cowboys last year, huh? I bet no more than 10 teams would like a second crack at him.

The Browns will not draft a #1 corner. They just did that. I don't know if some people just like to toss out crazy ideas, but do you really believe any team will ever draft cornerbacks at #7 and #6 in successive years? There's still gonna be a salary cap, you know, and this year at least there's no rookie wage scale. That would be a crackheaded GM's last move on the way out the door.

The Browns don't have an opening for a #1 corner... and nobody drafts a #2 corner in the top 10. Or top 20, for the most part. The Browns need passcatchers and pass rushers above all else.

If we don't take Jones or Blackmon or trade down for Baldwin or Floyd, we'll be taking a front 7 player, probably a DE. I think that's a little high for 3-4 linemen, frankly... so I really struggle to see the Browns NOT drafting a WR first.

The only thing about corner is you don't really have a #1 and a #2 corner. It simply boils down to who teams want to throw at.

It's why Wright was exposed this year.

Last year teams had players like Hank Potee to throw at.

This year Wright was the guy teams chose to throw at v Brown or Haden.

Or an OLB. But there don't seem to be too many available that would be worth the 6th pick.

Alo, help me with this: Why would a player stay in school if he's expected to go top 15 and a wage scale may kick in the next year?

I mean Andrew Luck is doing it, and he would be the Number 1 overall pick... I dont agree with the decision, well for the sake of money, not for the sake that he has his head on straight and wants to graduate. Football will always be there for these kids, but the college experience won't. Sure you can go back and be the old guy that sits in the front of the class, but you miss out on the parties, meeting new people, etc. Being a football player it is much easier to meet people, but still.

The rookie wage scale most likely will apply to this year's class as well, so there won't be a big difference in payouts. Plus, it's not at all a sure thing that Blackmon would be a top fifteen pick: he isn't as tall or fast as AJ Green & Julio Jones, and he's only got one year of serious production under his belt.

Coach Gundy has gone on record saying that Blackmon needs to stay in Stillwater another year. And after getting busting for DUI in October, Blackmon could have maturity/character red flags kill his stock. With Holmgren's past troubles with players who had alcohol issues (Koren Robinson, Jerramy Stevens), I'm not sure the Browns would gamble on a guy like Blackmon, at least in '11.

As a result, he may be better off staying in school another year.

Thanks, A. I didn't know the wage scale would apply this year as well. From what I hear, nobody's against it, including the NFLPA. Not sure what the trade-off will be for 18 games, though. Maybe just higher caps?

Good stuff on Blackmon. Sounds like he and Broyles are doing big favors for Floyd and Baldwin. Floyd is moving up the charts as it is.

I watched that game and he made Prince look awful and if AJ Green is gone which i believe then this is the guy i would want and we could even trade down a lil bit and grab him while acquring a couple extra picks, i have rated over Jones and almost right there with Green
