The Gipper
Who do you think will win the 4 matchups this weekend. Not who you want to win, but who you think will win: Pats vs. Jets. Last time it was played it ended up 45-3. It won't be that bad, but the results will be the same: Pats win Bears vs. Seahawks. Sure, the 'hawks were 7-9, but they have been in playoff mode for several weeks now and have come out winners. They certainly are peaking. Will that be enough vs. the Bears in Chi-town? Actually, I think it will because I believe they will be aided by the mistake prone ways of Jay Cutler. Seahawks win. Packers vs. Falcons. Everybody thinks the Packers have it all together now and are primed to take it all the way. News flash: The Falcons have had it together from day one and are the most complete team in the league perhaps. And they don't lose at home. Falcons win. Ravens vs. Steelers. Both games played this year were tight. In the last game Todd Heap was out. He is healthy now and can be the difference maker. Ravens have a propensity to win playoff games on the road. In a typical bruising squeaker, Ravens pull it out.

They played the Falcons tight in the regular season, and have basically been playing must win games for almost a month now. Something to be said for that. And, until Matty-Ice wins his first playoff game, the monkey is going to be squarely on his back. I know the Falcons dominate on their home turf, but doing it in the post season is a different animal. Also, the NFL deserves to have the Seahawks host the NFC Championship Game. It's an embarrassment that a 7-9 team was allowed to host a team that had 4 more wins then they did, so the NFL has it coming.
RavensFan1996
Jets Steelers Falcons Bears/Seahawks........toss up between two average but very, very, lucky teams Christ, I actually agree with you on something....Bears-Seahwaks may be the least watched NFL playoff game in history. LCDawgFan13
I think this weekend will be full of good football. I don't think we'll see any blowouts. All four games should be close...maybe even some overtime. I see the Falcons continuing their winning ways at home. As good as Rodgers is, it's just not in the cards for the Packers this year. I see the Seahawks flying from Chicago to Atlanta. The Bears will lose this one on a field goal off of a late INT thron by Cutler. I don't think the Pats get by the Jets this week. I think Rex has got his team ready for this game and I think the Pats will fall in another close one. And...I think that the Steelers and Ravens...well...who knows. In their 2 games this year, they have both scored 67 points on an exact same number of TD's and FG's...they could play to a tie...This one will probably be settled in OT. Ravens by 3. RavensFan1996
The Bears are the luckiest team I have ever watched since one of the 80's Browns teams. And Seattle simply stinks but met the Saints at the right time. Actually, the Bears are better and should win but?..................... I agree. Cutler is always going to be Cutler. He could come out and throw 3 touchdowns and lead the Bears to a 24-3 win, or throw 4 picks in a 16-7 loss. It all depends which one of him show up. Also, I think the Saints having to make that cross country trip hurt them too. They haven't been the same since the Atlanta win, but still, they are leaps and bounds better then Seattle. On the other hand, the week's rest could be just what Atlanta needed. Gonna be a hell of a game. I say 31-28...the winner is a tossup.

Not sure which Browns team that would have been unless it was the Kardiac Kids of 1980 where many of their games went down to the wire. The other possibililty is the 1985 Browns, Bernie Kosar's rookie year. They won the division with an 8-8 record. Maybe the "lucky" part of that was that no one else in the division was very good. That was the year the Browns ran over people though with both Mack and Byner getting over 1000 yards each. I agree that the Bears should win, but there is that big "but". Something about them does not inure confidence, and like I said, Seattle is peaking. Kind of like in 2005 when the Steelers, the worst team in the playoffs with the 6th seed won it all. They peaked at the right time.

Happens every year, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Seahawks do it this year. They have the most favorable second round matchup in the playoffs. BendMeOver
Steelers When you review the teams position by position, the Ravens/Steelers are nearly evenly matched. Where the biggest difference lies is the QB, in that Roethlisberger is far better than Flacco. Flacco has a propensity to skip his progressions and go to his check-down reciever (Ray Rice). I think the Steelers will concentrate their defensive efforts to protect against that checkdown. Look for Polamalu to jump one of those check downs early and return it for a score.. I also see Bruce Arians going to the pass more and sooner, similiar to his game plan employed against Cleveland. The Steelers will go for the early big strike to try put distance between them and the Ravens, possibly going up to 14-0 before the first quarter comes to a close. If the plan is successful I don't even see it being a close game. If the Ravens can thwart the early aggressive calls of the Steelers the game will likely be decided by a field goal. All things being equal I don't see Roethlisberger collecting his first loss against the Ravens this Saturday. Final 28-13 Steelers. Patriots Much as I want the Jets to win, they just don't have the horses to hold Brady in check for 4 quarters. I think the game will start out in the Jets favor. Ryan will put an initial scheme together, that for the first time in a long while will slow Brady down. I even see a turnover for an early score to set the Jets ahead of the Patriots, temporarily. By half-time I see Brady finally cracking the Jets defensive schemes by leading a long drive to set up a tying score. When the Patriots come out for the second half they won't look back. Belichek will push his luck at the end, trying to cap the victory with an unnecessary score and as a result one of his top players will suffer a significant (possibly season ending) injury. Final 38-17 Pats. Bears Lucky as the Bears have been or should I say that of Seahawks, the Bears won't appear to win by luck this week. Seattle will score first and early, but the things will go the Bears way for the rest of the game. Fumbles and interceptions will be the name of the Hasselbecks's game. Until the third quarter, I see the Bears defense as outscoring their offense. Final 31-10 Bears Falcons Lots of talk has been promulgated about how good the Packers are, but in reality they are even lucky to get a post-season berth. Philly failed to capitalize on number of drives that would've handed them victory last week, the Falcons skill can overcome any luck factors that weigh in on the Packers. I think Aaron Rodgers will get knocked out the game in the 3rd quarter as the Packers take to the air to try and overcome a 2 score advantage of the Falcons. The game won't even look close afterwards. Final 35-21 Falcons
The Gipper
You were doing so good too! In 2005 the Steelers were 7-2, and the #1 power ranked team in the NFL when Ben went down and they lost the next three games. they finished winning their last 4 but the 3 game losing streak cost them the seeding. To say they were the worst team in the playoffs shows your bitterness and alergy to reality. They were the 6th seed. They only got in because some other team screwed up by losing and letting them in. They were the best team in the playoffs, but they WERE the worst team, record wise going in. That's a fact. The Bears have won more games this year by questionable officiating, stupid play by their opponent, freak plays, etc than any team I can remember. I haven't seen enough of them to know about all this, but what I have seen I have thought they were shaky. And yes it was one of those years when Rutigliano coached and Brian Sipe was the QB and every call went their way and every ball bounced their way all year (both Rutigliano and Sipe said this in multiple interviews).....I think it was the year of "Red Right 88" That team did what it needed to do to win, and maybe it got a few breaks, but let's see, who do they remind me of? Oh, yes, the Steelers of 2010. Lest you forget: A. The "Gift" win you got against Miami on a bad officiating call B. The dead drop by the Buffalo WR that would have given you a loss. C. The OT win against Atlanta, which if I recall there was a missed FG that would have beat you D. The win vs. Baltimore where you got a late fumble from Flacco E. Close loss to Bengals that could have gone the other way. Just about every single ball bounced in the Steelers favor. Not sure I see much difference...except the Kardiac Kids did theirs with far more flare.
