THE BROWNS BOARD

Titus Young

He is apparently making waves (according to Florio on PFT) at the senior bowl as a very, very good WR (comparisons to DeSean Jackson abound--including his maturity issues). Is this someone we could target for a trade down in the 1st round, or will he fall to the 2nd?

Idk when this guy will go, but he is actually more a WCO type WR than Green, Jones, or Baldwin will be. The WCO likes to use guys that can gain yards after the catch but they rely alot on short fast WR's to slip into the linebackers and create miss matches with their feet. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the guy we target to get in the draft (whether it be trading back later in the first or trying to get him with our second pick.

That's really not the case, although Philly is the exception and that's Heckert. The tradition of the WCO is stronger WRs who can get YAC yardage, including John Taylor, Terrell Owens, Sterling Sharpe, Greg Jennings, Roddy White, Mike Williams (2.0), etc.

I am seeing Young's name mentioned anywhere from late 1st to anywhere in the 3rd. His stock is rising right now at the Senior Bowl and he could push to be the 3rd receiver taken in the draft. (I think Green and Jones are all but locked at 1 & 2 in whatever order) If we miss out on Jones or Green, and end up going defense in the 1st round, Young would definitely be my choice in the 2nd round if he is there.

A lot of mocks have Young and Torrey Smith edging into round one, even into the mid-20s. It's looking more and more like the Browns might have to draft Julio Jones if Green is gone. I just don't see how they come out of this draft without a serious WR.

Frankly, I think for a #1 type guy, you're looking at Green, a dropoff to Jones, then a big dropoff to Smith. Jones, however, is getting Top 10 love from both Kiper and Consensus Draft Services (Kiper has him 10 and CDS 6).

Where does Dane Sanzenbacher OSU fit in with the other receivers in the draft...

Seems to be a playmaker that plays up to the opposition..

Just wondering..

Peace

Definatly going between 4-7 and is only expected to be a slot reciever so we have pressing positions to answer unless we can get him with our last pick in the 6th. At senior bowl practice they are saying he isn't beating alot of coverage, but is doing a good job to get up in the air and catch/fight for the ball everytime he is thrown to. Also some mock guys say he has good speed but he really only runs a 4.5 at best and runs around a 4.55-4.6 on average. He has quick cuts and can change direction faster but still slow.

You're an idiot. By idiot I mean that in the most negative way possible. You're a joke.

It has nothing to do with OSU, Braylon Edwards...........?!?! It has nothing to with him being from Michigan he WAS a Brown. He dropped the ball consistently and more than anyone else in the NFL and then shit talked, got a DUI and run out of town by LBJ. Really you're going to argue this with me???

A ego who can't catch. That will make some team really happy, sounds like a perfect pick for the Bungles.

Who cares about Braylon?? Im talking about your love for Ohio St players. Dane Sanzenbacher blows and blows hard.

Lets see who has a better career Hankerson or Dane Sanzenbacher..

You remind me of Bobby Boucher

I enjoy college football but I don't follow it as closley as I do the NFL...

I graduated from Pitt so I try to catch their games but at times will view other marquee matchups...

I was just asking a question as to what slotting Zanzenbacher would have in the draft...

I don't know much about him but in the games that I saw he played huge... Found a way to get to the ball and his YAC was respectible..

I didn't mean to cause a ruckus, was just asking a question...

Knowing just the basics of the WCO it appears to me that he would have the talents to fit into that system...........

Peace

I never said Dane would have a good NFL career, once again... I don't even have to say anything you do it yourself.

See what just happened?

You get offended because I dont like your 'sexy pick' WR that has the 'essence' of Braylon Edwards, then you Retardedly assume its because I'm a OSU homer.

You were wrong.

Then I call you an idiot and you go and prove me right again by making up elaborate comparisons about a projected 2nd round pick having a better NFL career than an OSU projected 6-7th rounder. Great analysis there champ, you're xxxxin' special.

And your comparing the number 3 over all pick in the first round (braylon Edwards) to me saying if Hankerson goes into the 3rd rd we should grab him. I don't care if you don't like Hankerson there buddy. You just lost at your own game

Did that go the way you thought it was gonna go? Nope.

Not even close.

I compared what you said about Hankerson, lacks focus and cant catch (what someone else said) but has "HUGE UPSIDE!!!" to stone hands Braylon.

Then you got butt hurt.. now you're to dumb to know how dumb you are.

Funny movie quote though.

Great movie!

Another Buckeye homer here. Dane will be picked before the 4th round. He runs some of the most crisp routes I have ever seen, he may not blaze down the sidelines, but he will out cut you and beat you to a spot. With the qb he had in college Dane kicked ass. He will most definitely make a team happy. He is already in the Welker mold, not saying he will be that good, but he is on his way.

5 catches for 99 yards and 1 or two touchdowns. He defiantly improved his draft ranking in the Senior Bowl. I don't mind guys with personalities. We got the team set up now so their are no disruptive players so it is about the time that we can add some trouble makers that the others will mostly keep in line.

He defiantly? improved his draft position? How does that work again?

Hankerson gets high marks for his character: he's worked hard to reduce his drops, and he's had some (but unfortunately not enough) success in minimizing the issue. He'll make an incredible acrobatic catch, then drop an easy one -- that happened on back to back plays in the Florida State game.

At this point, it looks like he'll get picked in the 2nd round. Personally, I wouldn't take him that high, but I could see him being an option for the Browns.

Drew Thurman (9:54 pm)

Dane Sanzenbacher was a late addition to the Senior Bowl roster, not even getting to practice in Mobile, Alabama with his teammates until Tuesday.

He made the most of the opportunity, though.

He drew nothing but positive reviews during practices, with many talking about his superb route running ability and hands. DraftInsider.net had this to say about his practice performances:

"Sanzenbacher made the right choice coming to Mobile after getting a late invitation. He’s not going to be an early draft pick yet will be a very productive NFLer that’s drafted in the later rounds then hangs around the league for a long time."

Then, tonight, in the actual game, he lead the North team with five catches for 62 yards, including a few very tough catches. The only receiver in the game that outperformed him was Leonard Hankerson of Miami (FL). Ross Homan also got some playing time in the game and split reps

Yeah id pass on Hankerson until maybe late round 2 he has tons of potential dont get me wrong but i dont like the fact that he drops easy complitions something you need with a young QB, someone who has sure hands and will move the chains

I think pretty much every QB needs receivers with sure hands to move the chains.

Yeah but ecspically a young one because it takes pressure off him and helps build confidence in himself while others make plays not making himself have to do as much
