TheClevelandSound
Per Adam Schefter Twitter: "Good hire: Titans hired Chris Palmer as the team's offensive coordinator." Good hire? Chicopee John
>>Good hire? Someone hasn't watched film of the Browns in 1999-2000>> Or since, I guess. Arguably Palmer has been the best coach of the 'new era'.

nickers
Haha chris palmer was so aweful for us. If there was one former head coach I hates the most he would be it. Chris Palmer had nothing to work with here...You tell Me what coach couldve done better with a team full of special teamers,3rd string guys and wahed up FA's....Chris Palmer was doomed..Palmer in My mind is one of the best offensive minds in the game..Sorry but no coach is going to the SB let alone the Playoffs with an expansion team the way the Browns were raped in the building process... daddybull1
Palmer was screwed before he started. We didn't get our football team back, they went to Baltimore. We got back our name, colors and history. Policy & company were the worst judge of talent in the history of the NFL. Plamer didn't call the plays or pick the players. He was the head coach of a team comprised of has beens and never wases (is that a word).. Palmer is a career football guy who is very knowledgeable. An excellent OC in my opinion. He was put in a no win situation. Hell Dick LaBeau failed as the head coach of an established NFL team not an expansion franchise (the Bengals). Guess he's a peace of crap also????? WRREBEL
Chris palmer was a terrible coach.. if he was such a genious he would have come up with something creative. And he did have terry kirby..
ballpeen
Palmer was screwed before he started. I agree. You start with Couch as your top player and you have Dwight Clark as your GM, you're corn holed. That guy was bending over the day he got here. But Palmer was handed an impossible situation with a team of rejects. The NFL really screwed Cleveland.
1 more season
I'd have to disagree with this John. Butch Davis at least took us to the playoffs. But Palmer was handed an impossible situation with a team of rejects. The NFL really screwed Cleveland. Agreed! The NFL really stuck it to the Browns with the rebirth draft. I blame the Panthers. My belief was that the owners were not happy with how quickly successful the Panthers and jags were. Therefore they didn't want to see it happen again with the Browns. Oh well, whats done is done. This was pre-99 so some of you mods may not be familiar with this. : ) Chris Palmer OC in Houston? 1st, 2nd, 3rd down look for a hand off to the 2 or 3 hole then punt and repeat. The Gipper
I agree. You start with Couch as your top player and you have Dwight Clark as your GM, you're corn holed. That guy was bending over the day he got here. Couch may have been fine, had he stayed on the sidelines and learned for a year or two. And if he had any sort of offensive line in front of him. Neither situation existed, yet, he is still the only QB to take this team to the playoffs since its "return", and as a starting QB he had a 3-4 record vs. the Steelers. My only question on Palmer though is: Who are the Hartford Colonials now going to get for a Head Coach?
Chicopee John
>>My only question on Palmer though is: Who are the Hartford Colonials now going to get for a Head Coach>> Well, Mangini's name has been mentioned.
