WPB Dawg Fan
The Browns are doing it the RIGHT WAY. They are rounding up ALL the talent available....and taking a look at all of them. Not just relying on what other people say. If it is true what we read in one of the other blurbs that Pioli may be announced as early as Friday...then I am sure Lerner is going to give him all his opinions about the current coaching prospects. Even though the final say will probably be Pioli's (if hired), Lerner obviously intends to have his own information and opinion heard on the subject. the Cleveland Browns have asked for and received permission to interview Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels for their vacant head-coaching position. There is no word yet when the interview will take place. The Browns pursuit of McDaniels is not a surprise, as he has often been mentioned alongside front office possibility Scott Pioli as a potential target for the Browns head coaching job. Cleveland also has interviews scheduled with ex-Jets head coach Eric Mangini, Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz. Thos interviews are expected to take place between today and Saturday. Rumors also have the Browns trying to line up an interview with Shanahan...but I doubt that one goes anywhere.
