The Browns added two players to the practice squad, the team announced Tuesday morning.

The Cleveland Browns signed fullback Will Ta’ufo’ou and running back Xavier Omon to the practice squad, the team announced Tuesday morning. Ta’ufo’ou and Omon replace fullback Eddie Williams, who was signed to Seattle’s 53-man roster, and running back Quinn Porter, who was signed to St. Louis’ 53-man roster.

Originally signed by Chicago as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2009, Ta’ufo’ou spent the entire 2009 and 2010 seasons on the Bears’ practice squad. He was with Chicago through camp this season and waived on September 6. A four-year letterman at the University of California (2005-08), he saw action in 49 contests, making 13 starts. During his collegiate career, he recorded 16 rushes for 80 yards and caught 13 passes for 93 yards and one touchdown. Born on June 19, 1986, the 5-11, 253-pound Ta’ufo’ou is a native of Redwood City, California and attended St. Francis High School in San Carlos, California.

Originally drafted by Buffalo in the sixth round (No. 179 overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft, Omon appeared in seven games with the Bills during the 2008 and 2009 seasons, recording 27 rushing yards on 11 attempts and one kickoff return for 26 yards. Waived by the Bills on November 11, 2009, he has spent time on the practice squads of Seattle (2009-10), New York Jets (2010) and San Francisco (2010-11). He was released off the 49ers’ practice squad on Monday. A four-year letterman at Northwest Missouri State University (2004-07), Omon rushed for 7,073 yards on 1,271 attempts with 92 touchdowns to become only the second player in college football history to rush for 1,500 yards in each of his four seasons. He also became the second player in NCAA Division II history and third in college football history to amass 7,000 rushing yards, while his 7,777 all-purpose yards ranked ninth in NCAA history. He also added 90 receptions for 682 yards with six touchdowns during his collegiate career. Born on February 15, 1985, the 5-11, 227-pound Omon is a native of Lawrence, Kansas and attended Beatrice High School in Beatrice, Nebraska.
