THE BROWNS BOARD

We will draft a LB!!!

I think it's by far the most likely pick at #5... but I think Aaron Curry is ahead of Rey M. at this point.

Ryan really likes to attack off the edges, so don't count out Orakpo and keep and eye on those mid-round pass rush specialists.

Yeah it's going to be a defensive pick no doubt about that. We need a shut down corner and LBs in a bad bad bad way. I think the corner does more for this team right now, however I don't know how we are going to run an effective 3-4 without some decent LBs and one more on the DL.

Your Retarded Im sorry, our corners are good. Eric Wright is solid, and B-mac is awesome, if we would rush more three every play you would see that they are one of the better CB duo in the league. They put up pretty decent stats this year with NO pass rush.

Dqwell may very well be on the block.....along with Edwards and Winslow!

I disagree, Lerner chose Mangini because their visions were very much the same, and Lerner loves Winslow, Kellen stays. Plus him and BQ have a really good relationship.

Remember Lerner said: "I can see Kellen being a great attribute to the Browns for years to come"

That was this year by the way after he was asked about the disputes between Savage and Winslow and WInslows future with the team.

I have little doubt that the Browns take Curry in the 1st round, although I would prefer Orakpo. Either way, I think it is the right direction. I have been monitoring all the mock drafts and I keep seeing mocks with the Browns taking a CB in the first and/or the second?! Is there anyone who really thinks CB is one of our top 3 needs? I personally feel our draft needs needs are in the following order.

1. DE - pass rush

2. LB - pass rush/run stopper

3. RB - DUH!

4. WR - #2 or possible replacement for BE

5. DB - probably safety first. Jones may not be back.

If we can address the pass rush, then the coverage will instantly be better. Not to mention, if we can keep the offense on the field longer, our DB's won't be so tired out by halftime! Am I dilusional or does this make sense? Be honest!

We need a few things and an impact lb is at the top of the list followed by a reciever to replace edwards at slot 1...and a center that can actually move the nose tackle a little bit and partly deflect an incoming lb at the same time..

Honestly i see edwards going way before winslow...kellen has a great work ethic and gives it his all hes not a quitter he isnt going anywhere unless he just doesnt fit in the plans..

Edwards is to soft inside and out he has become to emo to be counted on he has butterfingers and isnt willing to take the pain for the team if he hears footsteps..he adjusts poorly actually causing a lot of intercepts and he lacks true break away speed and cant shake coverage unless the defenders screw up..i dont see braylon making the grade with mangini at least at slot 1..the kid just lacks toughness and heart..

If the brownies keep braylon around he will for the first time have to actually earn his place on the field as it should be..mangini most certainly brings an end to the job is yours by default and your god given right and makes it like it should be..the job is yours for as long as you can hold it..

i'm going to go out on a limb here and say i think if we pass on maualuga it will be a big mistake... and that's all i'm going to say.

Maualuga may not even be the best LB on his own team...let alone in the entire draft. If the Browns go LB @ 5 then it has got to be Curry. He has the most talent of any LB in the draft.

Cushing will be a better pro than Rey. Clay Jr. may be as well in the long run. But Rey will be the 2nd or third LB taken on draft day.

I would def. take Malcom Jenkins if he fell to us late... but true statement in we need a LB first to improve the Pass Coverage. Wright and McDonald are hit and miss in my eyes... either have great games or horrid ones... then again .... pass rush needs to be a lot more solid before i can completely ride them off

I agree with most that LB is our greatest need and the first pick may be the result of what happens in FA. If the team goes and get s Bart Scott or Suggs, then that changes a need. I believe the biggest problem with this defense was that our LBs were slow and weren't athletic. LBs make of break the 3-4.

Although Jackson is more of a prototypical MLB he is a good WSILB in the 3-4. His biggest problem was that Davis was slow, couldn't get off a block and wasn't athletic enough to play the SSILB in this system. That's why I believe Curry will be our #1 pick, as it stands now. Things may change because of FA. We still need a pass rush and I hope our new defensive coaches can coach up guys like Peek and Wimbley because we have needs on both sides of the ball.

One very big need will be Safety. In Mangini and Ryan's system they play with what is basically a two deep zone and mix it up with the front 7. So, they basically use or like to use 2 FS instead of a SS. They want both safties to be good cover guys. For that reason, I think they don't sign Jones. His biggest weakness is his coverage skills and he is slow to read and react. Many times this year he left McDonald screwed because he never got over to provide the deep coverage that was suppose to be there and it looked like McDonald was getting beat. Jones get caught looking into the backfield too often.

Needs for me would be:

1. ILB

2. OLB

3. Safety

4. OT

5. WR

6. RB

One very important thing this new staff will have to do is garner some additional draft picks. Anderson, Winslow, Shaffer and maybe Wimbley could be casualities.

I have the same gut that Rey is going to be a beast in the pros. His size/speed combo is freaky.

I just want the browns to do everything and anythinmg to get Andra Davis off the roster along with DA...they both suck!
