Louisville Slugger
Its obvious that we need playmakers, so I would like us to get skill players early and often. I think if we hit on a couple gamble picks this could be a huge draft for us, but with every gamble comes risks. Here is how I would like to see our first 5 rounds play out. 4- T. Richardson RB- I know there are some people who dont like the idea of drafting a RB this early, but there are 2 RBs that I think are premier work horses (Richardson and D. Martin). Martin may not be there at 22, so taking Richardson at 4 will garuntee that we get one of those guys. Claiborne would be an option if we didnt have so much money tied up in Haden, who I think isnt as good as Claiborne. CB is also a postion that is more of a luxury pick IMO, if you get pressure on the QB and have a good centerfielder playing over top, you can get away with a lesser group of CBs. 22- S. Hill WR- Big risk, big reward pick that if plays out well, we get our #1 WR. Hill could be the next Randy Moss, but could be the next Hayward-Bey. Jonathan Martin has been mocked at this pick, but I dont see him making it that far. I like Martin more than Rieff and I think that the 1st round is a little too early to look for a RT when we have so many talented skill players available. 37- I would try to trade back a few spots with someone who is itching for one of the 1st round talents that slipped into the 2nd and pick up an extra 3rd. J. Jenkins (CB) or one of the RBs like Miller or Wilson seem like perfect targets for someone in the middle of the 2nd. I am going to use the Cowboys as a trade partner. 45- M. McNutt WR- Back to back WR may seem like over kill, but McNutt reminds me of Jordy Nelson and that would be perfect for our system. Little is still raw so with a rotation of him, Hill, McNutt and Norwood in the slot gives us a very deep option at the position. That should atleast keep fresh legs at the position. 67- M. Schwartz OT- After watching him contain N. Perry Schwartz seems like a very good option to sure up our Oline. I personally have him ranked above Massie, Sanders, and Adams, so this is a quality pick in te 3rd. 81- C. Hayward CB- This guy is an extrmely underrated player. He plays the run well, is a form tackler, and takes advantage of poorly thrown balls. He very well could unseat Brown as the #2 CB by the time the season starts. 100- D. Wolfe DT- Athletic, high motor guy that will allow Rubin or Taylor to take a breather. Wolfe is a pass rusher so he would get a lot of playing time on 3rd downs. 118- N. Bradham LB- Big hitter who is good in coverage. He can rotate at all 3 LBer spots and could start in spot duty in his first year. Has the talent to eventually be a full time starter at OLB. 139- B. Irvin LB/DE- May not fit at the OLB spot giving that he is an undersized DE, but his speed and pass rushing ability gives him a chance to be a versitale role player. Even if he doesnt work at OLB he still fits the undersized DE types that the front office covets. 160- A. Davis QB- As a late round pick I like the potential of this kid. He started as a freshman and has thrown for over 20 TDs and single digit picks in every season he has played in. Davis has the atheletic ability for WCO but is raw and is from a small school. He is a project guy but has good value this late in the draft. QB- C. McCoy S. Wallace A. Davis RB- T. Richardson B. Jackson C. Ogbonnaya A. Smith FB- O. Marecic WR- G. Little J. Norwood J. Cribbs WR- S. Hill M. McNutt M. Massaquoi TE- B. Watson E. Moore A. Smith J. Cameron LT- J. Thomas LG- J. Pinkston C- A. Mack RG- S. Luavao J. Greco RT- M. Schwartz O. Cousins DE- J. Sheard J. Parker DT- A. Rubin D. Wolfe DT- P. Taylor B. Schaffering DE- F. Rucker M. Benard OLB- C. Gocong N. Bradham MLB- D. Jackson OLB- S. Fujita B. Irvin CB- J. Haden D. Patterson B. Skrine CB- C. Hayward S. Brown FS- U. Young SS- T. Ward E. Hagg With a few UDFAs and a couple low risk contract guys coming off injuries like O. Atogwe or J. Goff, we could have a very solid foundation. I could see this being a playoff contender in a year or two. Let the criticism begin.
calfoxwc
Swartz won't be there at 67. His rep is too well known. He'll be gone in the second I think. The premium is on OT's who can start right away, and lock that position down. The # of OT's taken in the first.... Swartz won't be that far behind in the second. Decisions, decisions. brownfish
I do like 2 WR by the 4th pick...Trent is fine would prefer Jefferey over Hill but I'll take risk...i think he falls though...to much risk he is the Tannehill of the WR core. Trent, Adams, Jefferey, Mcnutt or Trent, trade up a bit for Floyd, Trade up a bit for Adams or get Massie in 2nd, Trade up a bit for Mcnutt so we would lose 2 picks by jumping maybe 3-5 spots to get the guys...I don't really want us to come out with 13 players in this draft 9-10 is fine Trent Floyd Massie or Janoris Jenkins (to good to pass up plus Joe Long is a great prospect in the 5th...if we get Massie then Janzen Jackson in the 6th) Mcnutt (may have to give up a 6th and 7th rounder to move up a few spots to grab him since I'm pretty sure Minnesota will take him)
Tim Couch Pulls Out
If we don't end up with either Alshon, Hill or Rueben Randle, I will be ultimately disappointed. Preferably Alshon above all.
Louisville Slugger
I do not like Jeffery at all, he is Mike Williams 2.0. I have a very different view on the WRs coming out than what the "experts" are saying. I know its blasphemy, but this is my top 10 in this class. 1. M. Floyd 2. S. Hill (mainly on potential but I love his skill set) 3. J. Blackmon 4. M. McNutt 5. R. Randle 6. G. Childs 7. T. Hilton 8. K. Wright 9. M. Jones 10. J. Criner This is a good year to be looking for a WR. There is no A.J. Green sure shot but S. Hill reminds me alot of Julio Jones.

Louisville Slugger
Miktoxic would you like to add some input into why you dislike them and what would you like to see? Ryan broyles would be ahead of Hilton and Wright on my list, but his injury concerns knocked him out of my top 10. I really dont like Massie, when I watched him get destroyed by Upshaw I seen a lack of strength and technique. He doesnt use his hands very well and lets the defender get into his body far too often. I think he will struggle at the next level when he faces bigger, stronger, and more talented DEs.

Tour2ma
miktoxic makes input... he's just ready for the real thing... as am I... LS, First kudos for spending time to develop a draft. That said, let the fun begin... I not only believe that D. Martin will be there at 22, but that he may be there at 37. Although I would agree the latter is far less likely now than it was a few weeks ago. Two of your top 4 picks on WR's? I can't see that type of expenditure on that position. Especially with... Hill at 22... You don't roll the dice with any #1. If you like him, do not describe him as "high risk"... And FWIW I'm not high on him. I can't get past his NFL.com, Combine Weakness Summary: Hill's value is based purely off his ability as a deep threat. He has average quickness and moves off the line of scrimmage to avoid a jam. He ran a very basic route tree at Georgia Tech that didn't allow him to showcase many skills. Outside of catching jump balls, he struggles to read coverages and understand how to find holes in a zone. Hill looks uncomfortable with the ball in his hands and resembles a lengthy track star on the field instead of a football player. He dropped as many big balls as he made big plays; his YPC stat defines him perfectly as a player who is capable of making flash plays but isn't reliable. Reads to me like the second coming of Homer Jones... One of the WR's I came across in doing my Mock was 3rd Rnd prospect, Marvin Jones (WR-Cal) - 6'2"/200 & 4.46, my "risk/ reward" WR. I did not even see him on your list. What did you not like about him? C'mon 26 Apr...
Louisville Slugger
I have Jones at 9. He is a solid prospect but he doesnt play as fast as his 40 time would suggest and he doesnt break very many tackles. He runs good routes and has solid hands but he tends to catch with his body too much. I cant see D. Martin there at 37, Cincy(x2), New England, Denver, and Indy could all be looking at filling the RB position. Wilson is a great back and I could see him going as high as 17. calfoxwc
Wilson is terrific. But he fumbles. Not big enough to flat out kickass block. I like Doug Martin and Richardson, one of those.

CB, RB then WR. RT. then after that have at it. BTW, WJ....go fuck yourself.

The thing that has sold me on T.R. is he said these magic words, I LOVE TO BLOCK. Thats exactly what i want to hear from a R.B. im about to draft. The difference between TR and the next RB is much greater than the difference between Blackmon and the next WR...and we need both desperately. Trent is the best player Plus it will be tough to keep two such highly drafted CB's in the long-term...
