Soju Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 Shurmer says that he's contemplating wearing the brown unis for 4 home games and white ones for the other four--AND THE OTHER 8 AWAY GAMES. WTF does this organization have against looking badass in the Brown uniforms? http://www.espncleveland.com/common/more.php?m=49&post_id=1096 Of course, it all has to be approved by Fatman.
brownfish Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 that would be awesome. Nike now needs to upgrade the front of the uniforms for RBs so the materia .isn't so slick...I agree that my Nike jersey feels way more slippery then the Reebok...probably for moisture wicking and performance..but it may end up being the yet of the fumble in the NFL. put both jerseys at a slight angle and pour a tablespoon of water down the fronts the Reebok just beads the water quicker of the fabric.
Bob806 Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 Throw those Orange pants in there for a 'throwback game," and kick some ass at home this year. We need at least 6 wins at home- time to protect our home field.

Four and Four is good, it is nice to to see the Brown jerseys every now and then. White on the road you can plan on, unless another prefers to play their whites at home, there arent too many of of them left, if any. Zombo

Zombo that's why I say we should be like other "normal" teams and wear our fan favorite Brown colored jerseys at home--since we will be wearing the white for the 8 games we play away. Doesn't it just make sense?
Guest Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 Browns will not be all-white all the time in 2012 May 14, 2012 -- 6:00am By Tony Grossi The Morning Kickoff … Brown never looked so good: The Browns soon will submit their home uniform preferences for the 2012 season. “I think it’s safe to say we will wear some brown,” coach Pat Shurmur told me. Hallelujah! Fans have had it with the all-white look of 2011. It was purely by accident that the Browns wore white-on-white for 16 games last year. They chose to wear white jerseys at home to honor the tradition of the greatest Paul Brown years. It so happened that each of their opponents on the road chose to wear dark jerseys. So that put the Browns in white for each game for the first time in their history. If they had gone 11-5, everybody would have loved the all-white look. But at 5-11, all white was not right. They’re the Browns, right? Not the Whites. Shurmur confirmed the Browns are contemplating breaking up the home season into four games with brown jerseys and four with white. Different regimes have done that before. The final decision will rest with President Mike Holmgren, Executive Vice President Bryan Wiedmeier and Shurmur. Rookie camp wrap-up: With rookie camp over, drafted and undrafted rookies can now participate in the offseason program and be involved in the upcoming 10 OTA (organized team activities) sessions on the field with the veterans over the next month. They also will be able to participate in the mandatory full team minicamp June 5-7. Some quick-hitters on the rookies: Trent Richardson: Unique physique. Looks so much bigger than 5-9. Can’t wait to see him in games. Wish he’d chosen No. 34, a more regal number for a blue-chip NFL running back. Brandon Weeden: Throws a pretty ball. Has a real stature in the pocket. Seems to love and embrace the responsibilities of the position. Very personable. Mitchell Schwartz: Big and smart. Looks like he can step right in. John Hughes: Can benefit from some time in a pro weight room. Travis Benjamin: Fast. Unpolished. Rough around the edges. Skinny legs. Thick dreadlocks. Need to see him catch a ball over the middle. James-Michael Johnson: Bigger than advertised. Driven. Ryan Miller: Very tall. Too tall? Will be all about his ability to bend. Emmanuel Acho:Should break in as special teams core player. Billy Winn: Thirty pounds lighter than Phil Taylor. Thirty pounds. Built more like a defensive end than a tackle. Trevin Wade: Bigger than Buster Skrine, but not as fast. Brad Smelley: Caught a lot of short passes in five practices. Remains to be seen if he can lead-block on short-yardage runs. If so, he can press Owen Marecic for a roster spot. The newest best thing: I’ve never seen so many rookies under contract in the month of May. The Browns have nine of their 11 picks either under contract or agreed to terms. Only Richardson and Weeden are unsigned. The new CBA has made rookie holdouts obsolete. For years, the absolute worst thing about the NFL beat was chasing agents for info on the status of contract talks. On the record? Off the record? Could you take my call, please? Now, who cares? Let us know when your client signs and we’ll get it in. Got to love that. http://www.espncleveland.com/common/more.php?m=49&post_id=1096

Cowboys still prefer wearing their whites, do they not? So Browns should be in dark jerseys.
The Cysko Kid Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 I personally like the all white. I like the brown jerseys too, but what I absolutely hate is white jerseys over Orange pants.

Not sure ... they should ... but it seems like they break out the Blues alot now. We'll have to see. I hope we wear our Browns that day beause that is what we were wearing in that classic game in 1994 where Eric turner stopped them cold. Zombo
FearTheRoo Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 Bring back the orange pants! I just like variety, change it up every now and then...
Bob806 Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 Shove the orange pants where the sun don't shine. Jeez, that's crazy. Sipe to Logan....Sipe to Ozzie. Some of my best Browns memories were from that era.

For what it's worth, I always thought Cleveland looked tougher in the away uniforms. It's a classic look.
beefjerky Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 imo the brown jerseys would look better if they were so dark they were almost black but still brown.
The Gipper Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 imo the brown jerseys would look better if they were so dark they were almost black but still brown. That is exactly what they are, at least to my view.
Harry Buffalo Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 I think the stupid thing in all of this is 1. Holmgren had no idea that the fan base mostly hated the all white or white at home look until a few weeks ago when he did a conference call with season ticket holders and a fan asked him if they would finally where Browns this year and all the other people mentioned how much they didn't like it. I don't know how you live in Cleveland and run the team and you have no idea how much fans have hated this since it started at the beginning of the season. and 2. Even though Holmgren is now aware of how much fans hate the white at home look he is only going to have the team wearing Brown for 4 home games and white for the rest. "Oh you really don't like this, well lets go half and half and revisit the issue at the end of the season. Just let the BROWNS where their BROWN jerseys. It's not fucking rocket science.
ballpeen Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 That is exactly what they are, at least to my view. I agree. If we went back to the original Brown, which is close to the color on this site, I would like it more.
Taco918 Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 I dig the all white unis but I like the brown ones as well. As long as orange pants aren't involved I'm good.
Butler Browns Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 Bring back the orange pants! I just like variety, change it up every now and then... No. Brown jerseys and white pants at home exclusively. The way it oughta be dammit!
Mark O Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 I don't know about fan favorite. I hate the Brown uni's. I don't hate the brown unis...I just prefer the all white.
ballpeen Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 I don't hate the brown unis...I just prefer the all white. Well, ok....that is a better way to put it. I don't hate them. I just don't like to see us wear them. I go back to when we were good and always wore white nearly every week, and when we didn't, we seemed to lose. I will say I didn't mind the orange pants, and to go out on a limb, the orange jersey's made some sense. If we were to go with a new look, go orange.

Mark O Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 I didn't like the orange pants at all. I'd be ok I suppose with an orange jersey every so often (once a year at most) but I do prefer the all white look.
Tim Couch Pulls Out Posted May 20, 2012 Report Posted May 20, 2012 I want the orange jerseys. Just bought an authentic, embroidered and stitched orange Hillis jersey for 20 dollars and I'm loving it. I'm done buying jerseys for current players. Bought a Couch, he shit the bed. Bought a Quinn, he shit the bed. The way i see it, if Hillis shits the bed...it doesn't hurt us anymore.
WhoAmI Posted May 21, 2012 Report Posted May 21, 2012 I don't know as much about the history of the Browns uniforms as you guys do, but have they ever worn brown helmets? If done correctly, they could be awesome. They would definitely be unique. What do you guys think?

If done correctly, they could be awesome. They would definitely be unique. What do you guys think? I think it would look really extremely bad. I've tried it in madden with poor results. I'd rather see a white helmet than a brown one, however Orange works the best.

Not wanting any white helmets from the 40's & 50's or a Brown one either. Uniforms may vary but don't mess with our hat...ever.
FairHooker11 Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 remember back in the 80's when they switched back to the white pants from orange? I think it was Cody Riesen who said he liked the whites better because you can see the blood better!
