Bills-n-Browns-Fan Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 The Browns are now listening to more trade offers for Colt McCoy and are now asking for minimal value.
Taco918 Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 Pulling the lucky straw? That might be how UT has been picking their starting QB recently but that's not how it works in the pros or any legit college program.
calfoxwc Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 I'm glad Colt got all the brains and talent and class.... @@

Agreed but I will say that Case McCoy made that statement because he was led to believe Colt was just traded. Basically he believed a rumor and lashed out at Cleveland because of it.. I would still trade Wallace over McCoy unless the Browns could somehow get a better deal for McCoy (and that's doubtful).
miktoxic Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 it's about family. sure most of you think the guy sucks and should be traded but you gotta admit they have fucked with this kid since his concussion. first the dad points out how the FO defended the trainer or some horseshit to do with putting him back in the game and now the fact that they said they wouldn't draft a qb in the first round. i would have said the same thing but would have flamed H&H a lot worse than case did. i'm telling you you can't trust that fat old prick holmgren. one day everyone will wake up and see what a condescending snake the guy really is.
clebro Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 We got the McCoy family doing everything they can to embarrass Colt and we got Colt defending Harrison's hit on him. Seems like a very disfunctional family.
Harry Buffalo Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 It's like the people in that family just can not fathom that McCoy is not a good NFL QB. Your family isn't made of gods and there were better College QB's who have failed in the NFL.

Not that I don't disagree with the sentiment of this post... but There weren't very many QB's in College better than Colt.
miktoxic Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 the king is dead.. what king, douche? there hasn't been one player on this team in years besides joe thomas that could be called 'king' of their position. you're just another none caring mfer that lives in the moment. let's see if the new 'king' (at qb) can live up to his billing. if not, there'll be a lot of sad bitches getting tongue lashed by realistic fans like me. who's got the better record right now as an nfl qb....weeden or mccoy? yep. and all you other little flippin pieces of shit who think mccoy should be traded but keep wallace are out of your flippin minds. go shit in a hat.

Harry Buffalo Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 That's like a triple negative, woah. But yeah, Colt = winningest college QB ever... More of this dude talking out of his ass as usual 1: not the most winningest QB in the NCAA anymore, you would think a "journalist" would know that. 2: there are other factors that are included into what makes a great college QB. Wins obviously but also national championships and heismans. Colt won games but he never won the big game and he never won the heisman. Just off the top of my head without thinking too much about it I would call both Leinhart and Tebow better college QBs.

Winning National Championships a Heisman's are also far from credentials that make you a quality NFL QB. Cam Newton may be the first Heisman/National Champ QB to become a decent NFL QB in like 25 years. Just off the top of my head you have the Gino Torreta's/Chris Weinke's/Jason Whites/Tebows/Leinerts/Danny Weurffels/Charlie Wards/Eric Crouch, all Heisman winners...most if not all won national championships.....none worth much of a damn as an NFL QB. Hell, right now Tebow looks better than any of the rest with his one playoff win. The only other Heisman/title winning QB to do much has been Carson Palmer, and honestly, he has been a bit of a disappointment overall....though some of that can be attributed to the hit he took in that playoff game vs. the Steelers.
The Gipper Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 Heisman winning RBs have not faired much better. Since 1990, only Eddie George I believed can be called a completely successful NFL RB Heisman winner. Aside from him you have had Ricky Williams, Ron Dayne, Reggie Bush and Mark Ingram Jr. Spotty records at best. Maybe its a good thing that TR didn't win the Heisman for the Browns sake.

Agreed, I just include those factors into what makes a great college QB. All factors considered I would consider most of those QB's you mentioned to be better college QB's than Colt. That doesn't mean he wasn't a great college QB, but he was no where near the best.

I don't know if I would consider most or any of those better college QBs than McCoy. The best college QB doesn't always win the Heisman I don't think. Here is a list of the QBs that took the runnerup spot in the Heisman voting since 1990, that did not at some point also win a Heisman: Andrew Luck twice Colt McCoy Brad Banks Rex Grossman Josh Heupel Vince Young Joe Hamilton Michael Bishop Peyton Manning Tommy Frazier Heath Shuler Casey Weldon Here is the list of QBs who finished third in Heisman voting who did not later win a trophy: Colt McCoy Colt Brennan Brady Quinn Eli Manning Ken Dorsey Drew Brees Michael Vick Cade McNown Ryan Leaf Jake Plummer Steve McNair It looks like taking 3rd in the Heisman race and playing QB for the Cleveland Browns is not a very good combination (McCoy, Quinn,Dorsey)
The Gipper Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 Here is the list of "near winners" in the Heisman race (2d or 3rd place)to have made the PFHOF: Sid Luckman 3rd Otto Graham 3rd Chuck Bednarik 3rd Tommy McDonald 3rd Bobby Bell 3rd Dick Butkus 3rd Bob Griese 2d John Elway 2d Eric Dickerson 3rd Steve Young 2d Troy Aikman 3rd And just as a reminder these are the Heisman winners that are in the PFHOF: Paul Hornung Roger Staubach OJ Simpson Tony Dorsett Earl Campbell Marcus Allen Barry Sanders
BendMeOver Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 I know a guy, who knows a guy, who knows the cop who worked with the cop that arrested Kordell Stewart...er, wrong story. Anyways, I would trade you one noodle arm Colt McCoy plus a conditional 7th round draft pick for one rocket arm but highly immobile QB named Byron Leftwich. I've got Colbert on hold, so hook me up with H or H and let's get this deal done.

The fact is, if the Browns are going to make the decision to dump McCoy, I think they should also dump Wallace. He is about worthless in my eyes. Believe it or not the guy that I wouldn't mind seeing the Browns bring in to be Weeden't mentor/backup is Donovan McNabb. I don't believe he has a team, nor has he expressed an interest in retiring. And certainly he knows Heckert/Shurmur/Childress and their system.

HA! i'm post the way i react to some of people's dumb posts. how short-sighted are u assholes? trade mccoy but keep wallace? for real? at least we know mccoy can at least play in this division. maybe even have succeeded with some OL help a running game and some receivers who can at least catch the fucking ball. everyone is so flippin excited that we've got this strong armed qb. great. i hope the guy lights it up. but he'll also have those pieces of the puzzle at his disposal that colt didn't. so if he doesn't light it up then what dummies? is he then worse than colt or do we need to draft another qb next year? it must be nice just to live in the moment and not look at the road ahead. everything is great and we're going to the super bowl. yippee!! i'm not pissed at weeden. i'm pissed at the piss poor draft. that's my beef. yeah we got our rb a qb and rt after that name me a player that can come in and make on difference on any side of the ball. with 12 fucking picks? don't cry for me argentina when ray rice is running through our lb corp for 40 yards a clip. or our corners are letting receivers fly by them like they're stuck in glue or that beautiful strongly thrown spiral is dropped by our 'scary good' wr corp. enough rant. point is i'd rather see mccoy in there if (god forbid)something happened to weeden, not wallace.

Youre so quick to say that McCoy suffered from lack of playmakers, protection, what have you..yet you condemn Wallace for not making plays with the same team? When Wallace got the nod over McCoy in 2010, his stats were actually pretty decent until he got hurt in Atlanta. He looked a hell of a lot better in his worst games in that stretch than McCoy has looked in his best games. So why again are you for McCoy over a more mobile, more experienced QB who's performed better with the same team?
calfoxwc Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 Wallace ran out of bounds like a sissy. Made rookie mistakes, and couldn't win one game. The end.
sisky fringo Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 Wallace ran out of bounds like a sissy. Made rookie mistakes, and couldn't win one game. The end. im right there w/ ya Cal. running out of bounds when you need one yard...time running out...game on the line...the yard is there to be had...I get it. its an enormous brainfart from a supposedly highly experienced QB for sure, and for many its inexcusable. but, sadly people are mortal. hopefully he cares as much about it as we do, but it is what it is. but that doesn't mean we tolerate sissies, either! ANY Brownie that ever shys from contact gots ta go, includin any pussy QB's!
Tim Couch Pulls Out Posted June 19, 2012 Author Report Posted June 19, 2012 Wallace ran out of bounds like a sissy. Made rookie mistakes, and couldn't win one game. The end. Oh, okay. He failed to win one game. Colts failed to win every game but...what...4?
