standish
Theres no consensus pick for us, the players the draftniks have us taking are generally going between 5 and 15, id rather trade down for more picks and take someone like malauga at pick 12, then pickup a rush linebacker in round 2 and a runningback with whatever pick we get for trading down. I dont see much difference between the guys around at pick 5 to the guys around at pick 15, its a deep draft but i dont think there's amazingly standout players at any of our positions of need...(possible exceptions being Curry and Malauga, one of which should be there if we traded down)
OconRecon
That's some serious content and thanks for the extra effort to show the Browns choice. Muchos gracious.
Squintz
Thanks! Also - on the WalterFootball site, check out this link: http://www.walterfootball.com/draftdata.php It lists and updates a ton of mocks and shows picks 1-5 all on one page (which is great since we're at 5)! Good stuff. The vast majority of recent mocks (1/10 to today) have us taking Curry.
WVBrownsfan
I wonder if these will change much after the combine.
hammertime
Out of all the 'experts' only one has us picking an offensive player. I wonder if there on to something? Has any of the experts suggest we trade down?
Guest Aloysius
DraftDaddy just put out their first mock - they have us taking Maualuga at 5 (Curry goes to the Bengals at 6). Other than that, the mock is pretty solid. B.J. Raji to the 49ers is something I have in a mock that I'm working on; this is the first I've seen anyone else predicting that pick. ballpeen
I think we would take Curry.....first he is a better player and he is more a outside guy who fits a need more for those who need "needs" to be a part of it. I do think Curry might get selected just before us, so we might not even have a shot at him.
Oldcrow1945
Theres no consensus pick for us, the players the draftniks have us taking are generally going between 5 and 15, id rather trade down for more picks and take someone like malauga at pick 12, then pickup a rush linebacker in round 2 and a runningback with whatever pick we get for trading down. I'm thinking this could happen with Tampa Bay as they may want to move ahead of San Fran to grab either one of these two Qb's. Maybe San Fran could be convinced that TB is going to move up and they'd be willing to move for the #5 spot. Walter football has the Bucs going defense with the 19th pick but I don't see that. They were still the #9 defense in the NFL this year. They need a Qb desperately! I'd take their #2 to switch places with either team. A trade with the Bucs for their #2 would give The Browns the #19, #36 and #50 instead of just #5 and #36 with no 3rd round pick. Talking San Fran into it would be even better but I doubt you could get San Fran's #2. Making that trade with the Bucs you could come away with something like Laurintaitis at ILB, Donald Cook at RB and Patrick Chug at safety. Fill a lot of holes right there. The Eagles could be a mover on draft day as well. They have two #1's. But they won't be shopping for a QB. But maybe one of the top 2 OT's would interest them. Just fun to think about all the options.
