VaporTrail
It's no secret that our offense looked horrendous. That being said, we're starting a rookie QB, two WRs, RB, and OT. Every unit on that field is going to need some time to grow, and it's gonna suck there before it gets better. On the other hand. How about our "depleted" linebacking corps? LJ Fort and Craig Robertson were all over the field. Fort let the game slip through his hands on the play before the last TD, but he's not going to make every play that goes his way. I'm excited to see these two get more playing time. Maiava sucks. Haden looked good all day except for the TD play, but it looked like he was supposed to have help over top which got sucked in by the dig from the slot. I think our starters looked good, and depending on how serious Brown's shoulder injury is, we may be seeing much more of Patterson and Skrine. Our front seven played adequately. They lack gap discipline, though, and we saw it when McCoy was thrashing us outside of the tackles. The holes were there until we had our backs up against our own end zone. The playcalling from Jauron was great. I loved that we were bringing DB's in for the blitz, but that might bite us in the ass against QB's who can actually adjust to the blitz. Someone else made a topic saying that Vick was the most overrated QB in the league; I agree. Oh yeah, Hodges and Dawson performed well. I look like a genius for starting Dawson this week in my fantasy league. The long snapper put one a bit low for Hodges, but other than that, no complaints. Cribbs is not as fast as he used to be. TypicalBrowns
Offense: Weeden made nice throws on a few slants, actually hit some screens, but all in all, he overthrew wide Open recievers 3 or 4 times, also the picks, one wasnt on him, but the other 3 were. The pick at the end made me wanna cry. Richardson had no blocking, but he certainly looked like with time he can get rolling and be effective. Recieving is inconsistent. Greg Little dissapointed me today. Brandon jackson got some first downs. Massaqoui didnt drop anything. Defense, besides being a tad slow on run d, did awesome and i think theyll be able to force alot of turnovers with their scrappy play. Joe haden and tj ward are beasts, winn and hugheslooked fine. Dqwell should have a pro bowl year
The Cysko Kid
Well d'qwell should have a pro bowl year seeing as though he'll be on the field 75 minutes per game.
Browns149
Well d'qwell should have a pro bowl year seeing as though he'll be on the field 75 minutes per game. TJ Ward also, if he can stay healthy. He played well. Sack, forced fumble, 8 tackles
Harry Buffalo
Great play by the rookies on defense. Winn was the reason for about half of the holding penalties. On of of them he even managed to register the TFL. Both Fort and Robertson helped turn what we all thought was going to be a poor LB unit into something really solid. I don't think anyone on here is going to put the loss of the game on Forts shoulders for missing that INT at the end. He played a hell of a game. Robertson led the team with 9 tackles plus the INT and 2 PD while Fort registered 3 tackles with also an INT with 2 PD.
D Bone
Our defense played better than I ever thought they could...... Totally impressed me. LBs look much better, as does the pass rush. Run stopping is still a problem though. Secondary looked strong as well. Our offense is as pathetic as any that I have ever seen. They looked like a high school team on a Friday night, with a Freshman foreign exchange student at QB, and the President of the PTA as the head coach. Completely incompetent in terms of play design, play calling and play execution. As of today, it is painfully obvious that our "QB of the future" can not play in this league. Maybe in the future he can, but right now, he is not even close to being just average. I don't know who the answer is, but right now, I know who it isn't. Our soon-to-be hall of fame running back looked "ordinary". He didn't have many gaping holes to run through, but more often then not, he just slammed into the pile and fell for a 1yd gain, didn't see a lot of vision. I am much less worried about him however, and am still hopeful that he will be worth the steep price we paid to get him. The special teams are a strength of this team, and should help us win the few games that we will win. Game day decisions are still a problem in terms of on the fly decisions. Challenging when there is no chance to win it, not challenging when we can win it, going for 2, not going for 2, when to punt, ect, ect...
PoeticG
Everything you just said. It's painfully obvious that the best QB was holding a clipboard on the sideline. Colt would have won this game, through heart alone. Weeden was a mess.
PoeticG
Heh, maybe Weeden was high... He played like it.
miktoxic
c'mon PoeticG. that's all you got? you're gonna say weeden sucked but TR didn't? i was waiting to hear some type of response to you considering you said how TR will take games over, run people over and is an unstoppable beast. what happened with that? Hunt Daddy
What kills me is that we have a phenomenal coaching staff, but the head of it is terrible. We need Childress calling the plays. Hats off to Jauron for keeping us in this one for so long. I, too, was amazed with our defense. I thought we would get beat up pretty bad with no starting linebackers, one of our tackles out, and possibly Haden gone. But everything fell in place and they looked great today. Good call on both counts. We have good coaching as a whole with a boob on the headset. I too was very impressed with jauron today. Excellent scheme and execution. Tour2ma
While no one can deny the Browns' D was a ball-hawking MOFO... ... they also gave up 456 yds.... 306 thru the air and 150 on the ground. Not much to brag about there.
BadNewsBrowns
The Browns D looked good man but let's be honest here, Vick played like shit and Andy Reid called the game like shit. If Philly wanted to they could of probably ran the ball all day on us.
