calfoxwc
But it is also tentatively legit. Obama has the arrogance and the past and the relationships to say that it IS a worry. We'll just have to hope he is smarter than that, now that he IS the man.
Guest Aloysius
You're just silly. And if you want to adopt Plato's take, you better get rid of all of your money and familial ties, because that's what he calls for. The abolition of private property is one of Plato's favorites. Or was that Obama's? Wait, I'm confused.

What percentage of citizen's property is now confiscated as opposed to 1776? (No idea on the figures but I'd guess a pretty big increase, no?) Guest Aloysius
I think the duties imposed on the colonists were about 1/8th what was imposed on mainland Brits, so that isn't a fair comparison. Plus, the 16th Amendment didn't come around until the early 20th century. And tax rates are lower now than they were in the 1970's.

Plus income tax rates are only part of it. Just look at your buck and try to guess how many times it's been stepped on.... WSS
