gftChris Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Arrested twice over the past two years, Bryant realized it was time to find a new circle of friends and allow the old ones to drift from orbit. "I just stayed up here where I'm focused and around this team," the Browns' 2013 seventh-round choice said. "It was my thing. If I go home who knows what would happen? Last year, a guy went home and got kicked off the football team. I thought about that and it was like, 'I don't want to be that guy.'" http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2014/08/cleveland_browns_armonty_bryan.html Well there's an obvious parallel to draw here...
jrb12711 Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2014/08/cleveland_browns_armonty_bryan.html Well there's an obvious parallel to draw here... I hope the guy stays on the right path. He's got some skills that's for sure, he looked really good on Saturday.
RoyceRolls Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 too early to say for sure, but Bryant is starting to look like a diamond in the rough.
slowburn Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 i thought he was in beast mode Saturday night hope he understands that hard work does have payoffs he seems to be leaning that way
Ibleedbrown Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 It almost sucks to have this many solid defensive linemen. No wonder we're converting some of them to linebackers.
The Gipper Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 It almost sucks to have this many solid defensive linemen. No wonder we're converting some of them to linebackers. It doesn't suck at all. Depth is ever important to a team's success. Having these guys fresh and ready to go into the 4th Quarter is a big advantage....that sometimes we didn't take advantage of last year.
gftChris Posted August 13, 2014 Author Report Posted August 13, 2014 Alternatively, if we've got space for 3 starters and 3 backups (though expect heavy rotation), and we've got D. Bryant, Rubin, Taylor, Winn, Hughes, Kitchen, A. Bryant, plus rookies Calvin Barnett and Jacobbi McDaniel apparently looking really good, maybe we've got some room to trade solid players for positions of need. Like we almost did with Brian Sanford last year.
Tour2ma Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2014/08/cleveland_browns_armonty_bryan.html Well there's an obvious parallel to draw here... I'd put his locker right next to Josh's... probably with Burleson's on the other side... It almost sucks to have this many solid defensive linemen. No wonder we're converting some of them to linebackers. Feels a bit like we are still forcing a 4-3 roster to play 3-4, but Pettine does rush at least one stand-up OLB a high percentage of the time.
