Tour2ma Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 From http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/8282/josh-gordon "CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports Browns owner Jimmy Haslam nixed a Josh Gordon-to-49ers trade last season. The front office, led by CEO Joe Banner, wanted to deal Gordon to the 49ers for a second-round pick in addition to "other players," while coach Rob Chudzinski and his staff wanted to hold onto Gordon. Haslam was the tiebreaker. It means nothing now, but we found it notable and interesting nonetheless. Of course, neither Banner nor Chudzinski are no longer employed by Haslam."
tiamat63 Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 A 2nd rounder and other players? This article means nothing if those players names aren't even speculated.
bbedward Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 No need to keep looking back. If he got traded last year for a 2nd round pick everyone woulda been livid.
Westside Steve Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 If he comes back, plays well, stays out of trouble and doesn't fuck us over when contract time comes Jimmy made the right call. WSS
Clevfan4life Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 I dunno....a couple more draft picks might now have been too bad. I know a lot of people were itching for the Browns to trade Gordon last year and they were right. No team will ever make that mistake again. Next time a team picks up a 2 strike guy it'll be for league min. Nobody is investing in a player with that hanging over their head.
