is an "old document" when anybody ELSE needs their rights protected.

will throw all conservatives and all religious and all Americans who know perversion

By now, most Americans are aware of the outrageous $135,000 fine upheld by Oregon Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian against the "Sweet Cakes by Melissa" bakery owners, Melissa and Aaron Klein, for refusing to bake a cake for a lesbian commitment ceremony.

As reported by the Daily Signal, after issuing the ruling, "Avakian then placed an effective gag order on the Kleins, ordering them to 'cease and desist' from speaking publicly about not wanting to bake cakes for same-sex weddings based on their Christian beliefs."

Melissa Klein said, "This [ruling] effectively strips us of all our First Amendment rights."

Not only is the penalty unconscionable in scope, far exceeding any reasonable limits, but the reasons for the amount of the fine are preposterous to any judicious person, judge, or jury.

As noted by Dr. Michael Brown, the list of 178 purported "damages" experienced by the lesbian couple because of the Klein's refusal to bake them a cake include…

"concern for privacy at home; concern for safety at home; dislike of going to work; distrust of former friends; distrust of men; fear of not being able to get another job; fear of being alone; felt mentally raped, dirty and shameful; future job opportunities damaged; hysteria; inability to find work; irritability with family and friends… migraine headaches; nightmares; and pale and sick at home after work," – just to name a few."

While the Kleins have vowed to continue their legal fight against such a ludicrous fine, they were forced to close the bakery. Aaron Klein now issues his own warning to every American who holds the same principled stand on natural marriage…

"For years, we've heard same-sex marriage will not affect anybody. I'm here firsthand to tell everyone in America that it has already impacted people. Christians, get ready to take a stand. Get ready for civil disobedience."

+ + The assaults on our First Amendment rights are being launched on the federal, state, and local levels.

Right now in America, the nation founded upon religious liberty, people of faith are facing the serious threat of fines and/or job loss for standing up for what they believe. Christian-owned businesses are being forced to close or change their way of doing business.

These are harsh penalties causing real emotional and financial hardship, unlike the silly ones the lesbian couple allegedly experienced.

+ + Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) and Representative Raul Labrador (R-ID) have introduced the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA), which would prevent the federal government from discriminating against anyone who believes that marriage is a union between one man and one woman.

Following the release of the Supreme Court ruling by five lawyers whose judicial activism is now wreaking havoc on people of faith nationwide, Senator Lee issued the following statement…

"Today five Justices took a vital question about the future of American society out of the public square, imposing the views of five unelected judges on a country that is still in the midst of making up its mind about marriage. That is unfortunate, but it is not the end of the discussion, as Americans of good faith who believe that marriage is the union of a man and a woman will continue to live as witnesses to that truth."

"Our focus now must be on defending these crucial rights of conscience. That is exactly why Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID) and I have introduced the First Amendment Defense Act..."

Right now, in both Chambers of Congress, the First Amendment Defense Act is sitting in various committees for review while people of faith are being maliciously targeted by radical homosexual activists threatening their livelihoods.

Liberty Counsel Action is calling for the passage of the First Amendment Defense Act as soon as possible. That's why we are now expediting our petition to the leadership of the relevant congressional committees to aggressively move the process along.
