Westside Steve
what's the context here steve? You know there is....and what is it we know about context? It's a ngr. Go on then little stevie..tell the class your shameful fail. The context you moron? It's the simple fact that many many people maybe even your own dense self, said that it shouldn't be displayed on a public building but it would be okay to display it in your own home or on your car. Understand so far? Of course the idiots, including you I assume, on the left can't live without something to protest and cry about. Next step? Banning it from everywhere. And it didn't take long for that to happen did it? WSS
calfoxwc
But burning the American flag doesn't make gays and liberals scared. They are HAPPY with THAT. Stupid, corrupt, and very gay, this whole legal thing. If you disagree with lbierals, it's a "hate crime"... thanks to Obamao the Dirty Sumbeech. Westside Steve
what's the context of the story? why was what he did to the gay flag not treated the same as burning an American flag? cmon boys, think. Because, dimwit, the law has been settled. Its not against the law to burn the American flag. You can't be prosecuted. It's your freedom of speech. Maybe I don't like it, but that's the law. Right? This guy was punished for burning a gay flag which means... Speaking of think... WSS
Westside Steve
(And you really really are an idiot if you don't think that burning the American flag should be a hate crime. Probably the most insulting thing you could do to a man who served his country and seeing his friends died at his side. I would like to see one of them stick the flaming flag pole up your ass if you thought it was fun. ) WSS
Clevfan4life
go back and re read the story. You guys really aren't that smart. It wasn't his flag. And on top of that, he menaced a lesbian couple while burning "THEIR" flag. If the gay flag was his own, nothing. And that's what I mean by "context". If you took someone American flag from their property and were banging on the windows tellin em how ISIS is gonna get em and then burned it....yeah you'd be prosecuted. This is the simple stuff in life boys. Critical analysis. How's it escaped some of you. Steve I agree that burning the flag is personally offensive but I agree with the supreme courts decision that it shouldn't be illegal. But neither should the ass kicking you might get if you do it. Just my thoughts.

Just my thoughts. Your arguments seem to always to be flawed and this one is no exception. If you owned a gay flag, and you lit it on fire and charged a gay couples house, then you would be charged with a hate crime, ...so don't say "nothing" would happen to you. Ill go out on a limb and say the crosses that were burned in the front yards of black people most likely didn't belong to them.

Jesus H Christ what the hell is wrong with you guys? Srsly you get stupider by the week. I said nothing would happen to you if you burned your own gay flag you nitwit. The point of this whole discussion is that it isn't becoming a crime "just" to burn a gay flag. Nor will it ever be. This is only a crime because the dude was drunk and harassing a lesbian couple in the middle of the night while burning "their" property. End of story. Nothing to see here. Westside Steve
How many times is "hate crime" mentioned in the article? (here's a hint for you, it's in the very first line) Thats what its about. Not burniging a roll of toilet paper. WSS

Aside from the fact that the American flag is usually burned in public aimed at no one in particular, whereas this clown stole the gay flag from private property...one act is hate toward a small insignificant segment of society, while the other is hate toward an ideology or a policy/policies of which it's burning is very offensive to a much larger segment of society. Atop your perch of superiority we'll let you determine who hurts more, the gay or the war veteran/people that love America.
calfoxwc
Well, a liberal who hates America would be fine with the public one..."hahaha"... but deeply angered about te gay flag and the "couple"..... those two votes for democrats are precious......... You still dont' get it do you? The drunk guy wasn't making some political statement...he stole someone else's property and menaced them in the middle of the night. Had he burned his own property infront of them and on public grounds, he'd be fine just like anybody that burns the American flag in protest. Oh and you should stop for a second and perhaps thank the supreme court for their decision on flag burning as pertaining to 1st amendment rights to political protest. I don't like it but at the same time if that were made illegal than other forms of dissention are on the table....perhaps some of the things that monkeys like you, walter and cal say here about the current administration could fall that category now. LogicIsForSquares
The turd should be charged for stealing someone's property and burning it. If you want to, you can throw in Menacing because I am sure the ladies were scared. That said, hate crime legislation is ridiculous. If I murder you or destroy your property for some reason other than your skin tone or sexual preference, does it make it a "happy" crime?
