The Gipper
Here you go, try these trivia questions: Answers 1. Of the Top Ten QBs in career 4th Quarter comebacks, All but two are Hall of Famers (or certain HOF like Brady/Peyton/Favre). Which two are not HOF or not likely or border line HOF? Vinny Testaverde and Eli Manning. Vinny not likely at all to get in. Eli is borderline. 2. Of the Top 12 QBs in lowest sack pct. in a career (1500 attempts), 3 are former Browns QBs. Which 3? (remember sacks did not come about as a stat till like 1982) Jeff Garcia, Derek Anderson, and Mike Tomscak are all in the Top 12 in lowest sack pct. for their careers. 3. What 5 QBs have the highest career TD pct. in history? I know this was hard because you have to go back in time for this: Sid Luckman 7.9% Frankie Albert 7.4% Frank Ryan 7.0% Otto Graham 6.6% Aaron Rodgers 6.5% Of course, note that two of the top 5 are former Browns. 4. Of the top Ten Seasons in history in most pass completions by a QB in a season, half of the ten are owned by one person.....who? Drew Brees has 5 of the Top 10 in most completions. 5. Brian Sipe holds the Browns record with 30 TD passes in a season. Where does Sipe's record rank among all the Top TDs in a season list? (margin of error of 3) He is only 80th. 79 other QBs have thrown more TDs in a season than any Browns QB has. 6. Who is the active leader in "Yards per completion" in a career? Cam Newton has a 12.6 ypc.....but he only ranks 58th all time in that stat. I mean, the fact is, in earlier times....they threw for a lower completion pct....and a higher Int. %.....but they were going downfield with their throws...and when passes were caught they were generally for more yards than current passing trends. 7. Two QBs are tied with having been sacked the most times in a game with 12 sacks each. Name these QBs. Donovan McNabb and Warren Moon 8. Two QBs are tied with having the record for lowest Interception pct. in a season (min. 224 attempts) Who are these two QBs? Hint: stay away from the "big" names. Damon Huard and .......Josh McCown have the lowest Int. % in a season......each with a 0.4% rate. 9. Which Browns QB had the 13th highest passer rating season in history (highest by a Browns QB)? Milt Plum with a 110.4 QB rating in 1960 10. What Browns QB ranks #2 all time in Yards per pass completion in a single game (min 14 attempts)? Don Gault had a 44.0 ypc avg in a game on 10/3/1970 That was the record at that time. On 10/22/1972 Joe Namath got a 45.0 ypc for a game......Neither of these have been approached since. Don Gault is not one of the names anyone ever thinks of when you think Browns Quarterback....but his holds this distinction 11. What QB holds the NFL record for highest pass completion pct. in a single game(min 14 attempts)? Alex Smith for the 49er. was 18/19 94.7% on 10/29/2012. He had 232 yards and 3 TDs, no Ints. that game. 12. Four men have won the NFL MVP award 3 or more times. Name these 4 men. Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, John Unitas, Jim Brown Bonus: Name all those Cleveland Browns Quarterbacks who led the NFL in most game winning drives in a season. Note: more than you may think. Don Gault is not one of the names anyone ever thinks of when you think Browns Quarterback....but his holds this distinction He was 1 for 16 in that game for, of course, 44 yards. Threw two picks. Phipps got injured early on and nelson must have already been injured because Gault replaced him. Somehow he managed to hold on and win the game 15-7 with Gault at the controls. The difference was a safety of Bradshaw and an Erich Barnes pick 6 to seal it. Phipps also had a 53 yard TD pass before he went down. Sounds like an ugly game! http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/197010030cle.htm Zombo

I wonder if Joe Willie had something similar.
