THE BROWNS BOARD

Survey Tuesday 7/15/15

The Gipper

Recommended Posts

Here are this week's survey questions, give your opinions/answers:

1. What is the one item of Browns paraphenalia that you do not own that you would like to acquire?

2. What say, top 5 NFL team (or more if you would like) in your true honest opinion have the most loyal fan bases in the league.

3. Quarterbacks in the Hall of Fame: which 1-2-3-4 or how many you wish to choose QBs do you think

should be in the Hall of Fame that are not there? Try to exclude the obvious (those who are certain to get in but are just not yet eligible, like Favre, Peyton, Brady)

4. Major League Baseball is talking about expansion to 32 teams. What cities do you think would warrant receiving an expansio baseball team?

5. Which of the following do you think should be made legal.....or retain legality in like all 50 (or most of them) states? I don't really want this to devolve into a crazy political argument. Just basically give your thumbs up or down on these:

Same sex Marriage

Casino Gambling

Prostitution

Recreational Marijuana

Concealed carry....even without a license

The Right to Die

Use of Drones as a weapon or for reconnaisence (sp?)

Normalization of relations with Cuba.

Well, My homer pick is Bernie Kosar just the fact he has a ring. had sheer guts and polarized the city in a positive way.. but his recent bout with dependency I think negates his chances. Otherwise. no names come to mind except maybe Jim Kelly?.. He might already be in.. but dont really know.

Here are this week's survey questions, give your opinions/answers:

1. What is the one item of Browns paraphenalia that you do not own that you would like to acquire?

Nothing that I absolutely have to have. I have hats, polo shirts, t-shirts, pajama bottoms, coffee mugs. I do seem to have lost my knit winter cap. Maybe that is what I need, a new one of those. I don't really do jerseys

2. What say, top 5 NFL team (or more if you would like) in your true honest opinion have the most loyal fan bases in the league.

Obviously I am going to say The Browns.....because it is true. The Packers, Bills, Bears, Steelers, and maybe Jets.

The recently deceased Ken Stabler, Ken Anderson should. Kurt Warner will get in.

Other borderline, but not quite: Hadl, Gabriel, Brodie

4. Major League Baseball is talking about expansion to 32 teams. What cities do you think would warrant receiving an expansion baseball team?

I do think a team in Mexico would be good for the game....good for marketing.

Then may SA/Austin, and Charlotte.

5. Which of the following do you think should be made legal.....or retain legality in like all 50 (or most of them) states? I don't really want this to devolve into a crazy political argument. Just basically give your thumbs up or down on these:

Thumbs up on all of them.

Jim Kelly is in already. Bernie's productive career was just way too short for him to get consideration.

Normalization of relations with Cuba. yes as soon as Castro dies...If he's not dead yet even

Well, Fidel Castro is still alive...his brother is ruling the country. Normalization has already started....even though Fidel is still around.

I was just asking if you were in favor of it continuing.

Here are this week's survey questions, give your opinions/answers:

1. What is the one item of Browns paraphenalia that you do not own that you would like to acquire?

A new Orange jesey. I like all 3, but prefer the Orange the best.

2. What say, top 5 NFL team (or more if you would like) in your true honest opinion have the most loyal fan bases in the league.

Browns, Steelers, Broncos, Bears, Bills. Hard to draw the line at 5 for me, fan bases are pretty rabid.

Dan Pastorini, Steve Grogan, Randall Cunningham, Ken Stabler

4. Major League Baseball is talking about expansion to 32 teams. What cities do you think would warrant receiving an expansio baseball team?

I think it's fine the way it is, but maybe an international city like Mexico City, and Raleigh

5. Which of the following do you think should be made legal.....or retain legality in like all 50 (or most of them) states? I don't really want this to devolve into a crazy political argument. Just basically give your thumbs up or down on these:

1. Nice Nike polo

2. Saints fans are pretty rabid here. Mostly because Louisiana in general is pretty rabid.

3. Pass

4. Don't follow the MLB so I guess I'll say Austin. Largest city without a pro sports team.

5. Let me preface by saying that I think all but the last two (yeah even the gun stuff, except with licenses; see my caveat) should be decided by the states.

Same sex Marriage-DOWN

Casino Gambling-DOWN

Prostitution-DOWN

Recreational Marijuana-DOWN

Concealed carry....even without a license-without a license I'm torn, but it is a state's issue. Concealed carry with a license should be a national right though.

The Right to Die-DOWN

Use of Drones as a weapon or for reconnaisence-By the government? Not opposed on principle but it would need right regs and checks. For example if it's on your property you can shoot it.

Normalization of relations with Cuba.-DOWN but we do business with just as big of reprobates

4. Don't follow the MLB so I guess I'll say Austin. Largest city without a pro sports team.

Most pro sports teams follow the Nielsen Designated Market area of a 75 mile radius that determines a team market. I did a "study" once that I posted on here...for the NFL anyway, of what those radii were for each team. Now, Austin/SA did fall outside of any of the NFL market areas....but for NBA purposes Austin would fall inside, barely, the San Antonio market area. I do agree though now that SA/Austin area should be a prime candidate for expansion...or relocation of a Pro sports franchise....baseball and football anyway (and maybe soccer....if you want to call that sport "major" at some point). Not sure about hockey.

But Austin is a bit like Columbus.....really a major college sports town with UT...or TU or whatever located there.

Pro leagues would likely choose SA...and bring Austin in for the numbers.

(yes...bring in a couple of pro teams to SA....since that is where my daughter is, and she wants a job in sports management/marketing....absolutely....create some opportunities for her ;)

Maybe I will repeat some of that data from my study here. It has been a few years since I posted that. A lot of newbies now.

Well from everything I've ever been told, the market can't support a third NFL team in state. Already have 3 NBA teams. Baseball, who know, but Austin is invested in the Round Rock Express so bringing in an MLB team would make all of that a waste.

That is Jerry Jones's bullshit because he doesn't want the competition and believes that the SA/Austin market belongs to him. If Florida can have 3 teams so can Texas.....and the Texas teams would be further apart than the Fla. teams....and the market sizes for any one of the Texas teams would probably be bigger than the market sizes for all of the Florida teams.

And, I have no clue what Round Rock Express is....nor why it would have anything to do with Major League Baseball.

AA team just north of town

They will trade that for a big league team.....actually, they don't have to.....the AA team can stay right there. We have the Indians....plus a AA team 35 miles away in Akron, plus a A level team in....???...gotta look it up. Willoughby? Willowick? Mentor? Eastlake?
