gftChris
I never have a problem with people believing that some higher being created the universe the way it is, guiding evolution or whatever. These are things that cannot possibly be proved or disproved, and belief in this doesn't make you a bad person or whatever. I have a problem with people refuting the hard evidence that says the solar system is about 4.5bn years old, and the universe is 13bn (ish) years old, because a book with nothing to back it up but "faith" says differently. People who do this show a willingness to defy logic and ignore facts that contradict their religious/idealogical world view, and that makes them bad at making decisions that require them to acknowledge these things. Granted, I'm sure on plenty of things, facts can be shown on both sides of an argument (gun control, social policy etc), but the only fact in favour of a young earth is the bible, while all of science is showing a much older earth.
