How important is CLE's record at home and point differential

CLE's performance a the Q this season has been amazing this season. And that is just when you look at the record of 35-1 (and a real possibility of 40-1 record).

But this record could very well be telling of how the season will end for the Cavs. In the history of the NBA, teams that have lost 3 or less home games over the course of a season have all gone on to win the NBA title.

CLE's average point differential this season has been 10pts. Only 3 teams in NBA history have had a average point differential of 10+ points. All of those teams went on to win the NBA title.

By no coincidence those same 3 teams that had the 10+ point differential had home records of 39-2, 36-5, and 39-2.

Those teams also won 69 or more games in their seasons, which CLE does have a chance to do.

Right now, not only the play on the court has the Cavs projected to an NBA title, history is on their side as well.

The part about it being CLE is why I can understand why fans sometimes lost their minds this season w/ hating on the Cavs after they lost a game. We all unfortunately know how our beloved CLE teams fair in the past when the playoffs come. But this is not a team that is going to break CLEs heart. For a change we have MJ/Elway on our side, rather than him on the opposite side.

Good original post...

I think the most amazing thing, if you've been watching these last 13 games and all season, is the way the Cavs play in the least few minutes of a game. Their defense just turns up 10 levels. Mo and Delonte both play with the confidence and aggressiveness we've needed out of LeBron's teammates, and even LeBron has gotten more of a killer instinct at the end. Even Sasha drops a 3 when called on. It must be contagious.

They've even done it on the road many times. It's amazing.
