The Cleveland Browns on Monday claimed OL Kaleb Johnson via waivers from Baltimore and signed WR Rannell Hall off Tampa Bay’s practice squad. In addition, the team placedJoe Hadenicon-article-link.gif (concussion) on injured reserve and waived OL Gabe Ikardicon-article-link.gif.

Haden appeared in five games this season and totaled 22 tackles, two passes defensed and one fumble recovery. He missed the past five games with a concussion sustained against Arizona on Nov. 1.

“This has been an extremely difficult season for me personally,” Haden said. “It’s upsetting that my year has ended this way. I really want to be out there with my teammates trying to help finish this season strong and on a positive note. We’ve all learned how important it is to be very thorough with concussions and I appreciate the care the Browns have provided for me. Although, I haven’t been able to clear protocol the specialist I have met with have told me they expect a full recovery. I’m looking forward that, returning to form, having a good offseason and an even better 2016 season.”

Hall is a 6-0, 200-pound rookie out of Central Florida. Originally signed by Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent, he has spent eight weeks on the Buccaneers’ practice squad this season. At UCF, he appeared in 49 games and caught 45 passes for 2,051 yards with nine touchdowns, while adding 264 rushing yards, two touchdowns and 2,083 kickoff return yards. A native of Miami Gardens, Fla., Hall graduated from Miami Carol City High School.

Johnson is a 6-4, 300-pound rookie out of Rutgers. Originally signed by Baltimore as an undrafted free agent, he spent the first 11 weeks of the season on the Ravens practice squad before being elevated to the active roster. He was inactive for one game before being waived on Dec. 12. A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Johnson graduated from Edward H. White High School.

Ikard was claimed via waivers last Monday and was inactive for Sunday’s game.

Two concussions one in Oct. one in November. Almost 7 weeks and unable to clear protocol. Wouldn't you think this ultimately comes with medical advice for no further head trauma?

I would be surprised if he is not advised to hang up his cleats. Happened to our WR taken by Arizona (Ryan Swope). Just too many concussions in too short a time.

I don't recall his history prior to this season, but then concussions were just invented.

This could be trouble for Haden unfortunately, if it's legit. Unable to recover in two months from a concussion is not good. Hopefully he'll be fine, and Pett is just shutting him down to allow him to fully recover, because the alternative is potentially a forced retirement, as has been said.

Fingers crossed.

EDIT: Nevermind to that, he has not passed the protocol I see.

that is indeed very troubling. That type of thing changes how you play the game if you play again at all. Very unfortunate for him.

He'll be fine. Gives us a chance to take a nice hard look at Charles Gaines on the outside.

Hopefully he can be the successor to to Tramon Williams on the other side of Joe that apparently Justin Gilbert and Pierre Desir will not be (as long as Pett is coach).

I saw Gaines in Tampa in the preseason and he looked terrific, as he did this week against the likes of Aquan Boldin and his 1,000 catches.

A lot of those sacks were coverage sacks, I am excited about Gaines.

5'10, 4.4 Forty with what looks like top man-to-man skills.

I think we stole him in the 6th round.

I also was impressed with his game against SF's Boldin, a major change from prior games. The kid seems to be getting it.

Well, aside from the need to replace Joe on the roster (why didn't they sign a DB?)....Farmer took the opportunity to fiddlefartfuck around with the low end of the roster.

To me, it seems this guy is desperate to keep his job by saying "see, I'm needed...I gotta make all these player transactions" (which don't mean shit really)

And don't be surprised if the Browns take a CB fairly high. If they play well enough to where their draft pick drops out of the top 3-4 they could look at Vernon Hargreaves....out of Florida...same school as Joe.

Retard post.

Let me help ya there shorty. When someone says "we" when referring to a team on a Browns forum, it always indicates "the Browns". I know that's hard to understand for you fellas that signed up for this forum the same day as your hero Johnny was drafted, but the rest of us Browns fans don't give one single shit for where our (see what I did there) players played their high school or collegiate football at.

Go Johnny.

Obdurate is your standard position.

You would prefer Obeisance? Ain't never gonna happen. Obdurate works for me. Occasionally Obfuscation and obscuration do too. But in reality I am one of the most Objective people you will run into.

I will not, however, be obsequious.....but I will occasionally be obstinate.

I didn't get on this board for almost a full year after he was drafted. My dad is from Cleveland. Lifelong Browns fan. Not sure how many other ways you could be wrong. Congrats on the tough stand though. I'm sure it make you feel like a real BA even though you knew perfectly well what Tex meant.

Every time an OSU fan says "we" on this board going forward (which is fairly often), I expect you to take this same reetarded stand.

Actually, I was just being a smart ass and having some fun with TA69, because he's a good dude....... But thanks for putting your nose where it doesn't belong, you're definitely good at it.

Go Johnny!!!
