She is a retired Northampton science teacher and is concerned that photosynthesis, which depends upon sunlight, would not happen and would keep the vegetation from growing. She said she has observed areas near solar panels where vegetation is brown and dead because it did not receive enough sunlight. She also questioned the high number of cancer deaths in the area, saying no one could tell her that solar panels didn’t cause cancer. “I want to know what’s going to happen,” she said. “I want information. Enough is enough. I don’t see the profit for the town. “People come with hidden agendas,” she said. “Until we can find if anything is going to damage this community, we shouldn’t sign any paper.”

calfoxwc
Interesting..... http://www.skincancer.org/skin-cancer-information/actinic-keratosis/what-is-actinic-keratosis "An actinic keratosis, also known as a solar keratosis, is a scaly or crusty growth (lesion). It most often appears on the bald scalp, face, ears, lips, backs of the hands and forearms, shoulders, neck or any other areas of the body frequently exposed to the sun. You’ll often see the plural, “keratoses,” because there is seldom just one."

Westside Steve
If you're on the side of the dumb science teacher just say so. I'm saying that there's a case to be made for worrying about carcinogenic effects of electricity. If you think that's outrageous good for you. I think you could probably find summer crazier stories if you looked. But if that one flips you out... WSS
Clevfan4life
does a solar panel somehow put out a higher electric field than power lines running through everybodys property? I'm not discounting the notion that strong eletrical fields may have some ability to stimulate cancer growth..i'm just asking how with this solar thing. The electricity generated goes right into the wires and transported down the lines...just like always. So what is allegedly different with solar production? Just saying its not a ridiculous fear. Well, actually it is a ridiculous fear but No more so than most of our accepted ridiculous fears.
