The Gipper
Here is the NFL playoff picture with one week left: AFC: Patriots Clinched bye....but have not clinched #1 seed...can do so by beating Miami Broncos: Hold #2 seed, but have not yet clinched AFCW. Bengals: Clinched AFCN...but could go from #2 to #3 seed Texans: lead for AFCS, but have not clinched. But about a dozen scenarios have to occur for Colts to win. Chiefs: Clinched a WC spot: can take AFCW if they win and Broncos lose Jets: Lead for WC spot. Can clinch with win over Bills Steelers: Only hope for WC spot: Beat Browns, have Bills beat Jets. Colts: can only get if they win, and Texans lose....and those other scenarios occur Questions for AFC: 1. Who among Broncos, Pats, gets #1 seed 2. Who wins the AFCS....Texans or Colts 3. Who wins the AFCW....Broncos or Chiefs 4. Who wins second WC....Jets or Steelers NFC Panthers.....hold #1 seed, but have not clinched. Have clinched bye Cardinals....hold #2 seed, could take #1. Have clinched bye Redskins....clinched NFCE.....fixed at #4 seed....only team whose spot is absolute Packers...Clinched playoff spot. Vikings....Clinched playoff spot. Seahawks....clinched WC spot Questions for NFC: 1. Who wins the #1 seed Car. or Ariz. 2. Who wins theNFCN? Playoff matchups if the season ended now: Bengals #3 host #6 Jets #4 Texans host #5 Chiefs #3 Packers host #6 Seahawks #4 Redskins host # 5 Vikings Most interesting change in these scenarios: If the Viking lose to the Packers, and the Seahawks win their game.....the Vikings will go right back to Green Bay to play the Packers in the #3 vs. #6 matchups. The Gipper
The "Race" for the #1 overall pick: 1. Titans 3-12 2. Browns 3-12 3. Cowboys, 49ers, Chargers all 4-11 Critical games in the final week Jets vs. Bills....Jets need win to secure WC Pats vs. Dolphins...Pats need win to assure #1 overall seed Titans vs. Colts...Colts must win to have any chance to take AFCS Ravens vs. Bengals...Bengals need to win to have chance at #2 seed and bye Steelers vs. Browns....Steelers must win to have a chance at a Wildcard Jaguars vs. Texans....Texans win secures AFCS title Raiders vs. Chiefs...Chiefs win need to have a chance at AFCW title...or to keep #5 seed (difference between playing Texans or Bengals in round 1) Chargers vs. Broncos....Broncos need win to have any chance at #1 seed....or to win AFCW Bucs vs. Panthers....Panthers need win to secure #1 overall seen in NFC Seahawks vs. Cards...Cards need for chance at #1 seed. Seahawks need to secure #5 seed (difference between playing Redskins or having to go to Green Bay or Minn.) Vikings vs. Packers....Winner take all in NFCN....and #3 vs. possible #6 seed. The Gipper
Here is all the shit that must happen for the Colts to make playoffs: Indianapolis clinches AFC South division with: 1. IND win + HOU loss + IND ties HOU in strength of victory tiebreaker and clinches strength of schedule tiebreaker over HOU. Note: IND ties HOU in strength of victory tiebreaker and clinches strength of schedule tiebreaker over HOU if BOTH of the following occurs: 1. All of the following teams win: ATL, BAL, BUF, DEN, MIA. 2. OAK win or tie + PIT win or tie as long as both teams don't tie. If Houston and Indianapolis end up tied in strength of victory and tied in strength of schedule, the teams would then go to the next tiebreaker, which is best combined ranking among AFC teams in points scored and points allowed in all games. That's a zillion to one against happening- a mathematical chance. Texans beat Jags- the rest doesn't matter. Will the Ratbirds beat the Bengals? Fish beat the Patsies? Raiders beat the Chiefs on the road? Now it would be sweet if it does happen- payback for the "Suck for Luck" scenario. Playoff teams get poorer draft position than otherwise. Opal312
Doesn't anyone want the Browns to help knock out the Steelers? If we beat Pittsburgh there's a chance they stay home! Can't we beat them at least once this year?

Opal312
Colts won't win with Josh Freeman or anyone else for that matter. They lose! And maybe the Browns can beat the Steelers and knock them out too!

Can't we beat them at least once this year? Yes.....the Jets and Chiefs certainly want the Browns to beat Pitt. If Browns beat Pitt, then Jets could even lose and get the WC spot. KC, while having clinched a WC spot....would still like to see Pitt lose....as if Jets lose, Chiefs lose and Steelers win, Steelers, I believe get the #5 spot....puching KC down to #6. The #5 spot team likely gets to go on the road to Houston for the game. The #6 team would have to go to either Cinci or Denver for their game. Houston seems to be the easier game to have a chance to win. Same in NFC....Redskins are at #4. to play the #5 team. Whomever: Seattle/Minn./GB would rather take a crack at the Redskins I should expect than to go to either Minn. or Green Bay.
