Pumpkin Eater Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 i remember a few months back expressing concern about the growing Muslim population here in Columbus and the terror attacks that will come with it. I did end up buying a Ruger sr22 to carry and I'm glad I did.
The Cysko Kid Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 you're crazy to be carrying a .22 when you could have a .45
Pumpkin Eater Posted February 13, 2016 Author Report Posted February 13, 2016 .45 too big. The 22 is perfect to carry
The Cysko Kid Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 .45 too big. The 22 is perfect to carry I'm a big dude so I guess that's relative. I wouldn't feel like a .22 has appropriate stopping power
Axe Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 I'm a big dude so I guess that's relative. I wouldn't feel like a .22 has appropriate stopping power This! I bought a Barretta Bobcat 7 shot for the wife to keep in her shoppe. Even she thought it was too weak. A can of wasp spray has more stopping power
Pumpkin Eater Posted February 13, 2016 Author Report Posted February 13, 2016 Nah. Just get hollow points. .22lr bullets are also pretty deadly. I also got high velocity copper plated hollow points. http://www.hickokfamilygenealogy.com/Lethality_of_the_22_LR.html
LogicIsForSquares Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 A .22 can do the job but it is definitely not the best option by a long shot.
LogicIsForSquares Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 Has there been anything to even identify this as a terrorist attack? From what I read, the people in the deli knew the person who did it.
calfoxwc Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 Israeli restaurant, wasn't it? The guy was on the FBI's "watch list".
LogicIsForSquares Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 Israeli restaurant, wasn't it? The guy was on the FBI's "watch list". You got a link to it?The story I read was pretty vague and just said the deli owners knew the guy.
LogicIsForSquares Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 It is a Mediterranean restaurant
Clevfan4life Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 I'm a big dude so I guess that's relative. I wouldn't feel like a .22 has appropriate stopping power i would think there's some middle ground between the two, no? I'm a big dude too but would probably be annoyed trying to conceal a .45. Open carry, sure might as well go big or go home right?
calfoxwc Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 a .22 can be effective to a point..... but in a tough situation, it's too small to be depended on, I think. http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/using-22-self-defense
