gftChris Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 So after all of these camps, who do you think we should draft? Not worrying about what happens after, who would you pick, or who do you want the browns to pick? This is assuming Tunsil goes first overall (because that is currently the consensus thinking and nobody on this board would probably be interested, so it makes life easier).
gftChris Posted March 1, 2016 Author Report Posted March 1, 2016 (if I've missed anyone, let me know and I'll edit the poll, or mods can)
miktoxic Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 i've read a lot of stuff on here recently and there are a couple of interesting possibilities, i.e. picking up a starter in FA. osweiller and garrop and an outside shot with kaep are all intriguing ideas which would open the #2 pick to another position of need or even a trade down to make up for our 2nd pick we'd most likely have to give up in a trade. BUT as it stands now, i'd go for goff. in a trade down i'd get zeke elliot.
Mark O Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 I'm good with either Goff or Wentz. I trust Hue to know which QB he wants.
Canton Mike Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 I'm good with either Goff or Wentz. I trust Hue to know which QB he wants. I like Wentz first but agree with Mark. It's nice that so many of us DO have faith in our HC. Mike
D Bone Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 I trust Hue to know which QB he wants. Agree........ Been a while since we could say that, and actually believe it.
gftChris Posted March 1, 2016 Author Report Posted March 1, 2016 Agree........ Been a while since we could say that, and actually believe it. When was the last time people had this much confidence in someone within the browns? Mike Holmgren?
TexasAg1969 Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 Well 9% of us think a trade down is in order. Lot of folks want defenders this year and we need extra players in multiple positions. Edit: When you feel fine with either QB, a trade down just a little makes sense.
gftChris Posted March 1, 2016 Author Report Posted March 1, 2016 Well 9% of us think a trade down is in order. Lot of folks want defenders this year. Contingent on someone wanting to trade up though, and try to get ahead of Dallas/SD. Maybe someone falls in love with Bosa? Jacksonville perhaps?
Flyin J Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 Ill set my tent up in camp Wentz, but my non QB is Jack.
gftChris Posted March 1, 2016 Author Report Posted March 1, 2016 Ill set my tent up in camp Wentz, but my non QB is Jack. Well that would be lovely, but we only have one pick
Flyin J Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 Well that would be lovely, but we only have one pick Haha, just puttin my backup tent in another camp in case some unforseen wind (trade or fa) blows my first one down.

Jacksonville perhaps? Actually Dallas may just want to get ahead of the Jags and the Jags may just want to stay ahead of Dallas since Bosa would fit either team just right. Don't believe any QB misinformation coming out of anyone.

Don't believe any QB misinformation coming out of anyone. Dallas already ahead of Jags - Dal picks #4, jags #5.
TexasAg1969 Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 Dallas already ahead of Jags - Dal picks #4, jags #5. Oops typed that backasswards, but we can throw SD in the mix for him too.
BrownsnMopar Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 I like Wentz first but agree with Mark. It's nice that so many of us DO have faith in our HC. Mike +1 I voted Wentz and also have faith in Hue to finally deliver US and the Browns a quality QB Whether a FA or draft pick! Trading down is an option if we get an amazing deal and our guy.... or two or three! GO BROWNS
Tour2ma Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 Goff, of course... When was the last time people had this much confidence in someone within the browns? Think you have to go all the way back to 2014... Farmer and Pet. Before that 2013, when Walrus was sent packing... Don't think so? Do the search and you'll see..

Canton Dawg Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 Pick 1a Goff Pick 1b Wentz Either way it has to be a QB, we have a quality veteran QB to mentor a young guy fresh out of college.
bbedward Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 You're probably right I guess. People were extremely high on Farmer, while a lot of people were really down on Banner and Lombardi right from the beginning. Holmgren and crew also had people very confident in the beginning.

bbedward Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 I seem to recall people not being particularly high on Pettine though. I think if you ask the Raiders fans they'd say don't give Hue personnel decisions no matter what you do! But Browns fans are extremely confident in him choosing out QBOTF, so we'll see. Nobody really knows how much control Sushi and Paul and the other guy nobody cares about have over the draft - but I assume it's not Hue's decision alone anyway.

I think part of it is that it's not just Hue, but we have a Hue-gely experienced coaching staff this year, filled with 'lifers' The general reaction to Pettine was 'who?'
VaporTrail Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 I'm in Camp Wentz. Guy is built like a linebacker, has a cannon, and a brain. I want to see AFCN defenders bounce off of our QB for a change.
wargograw Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 Well 9% of us think a trade down is in order. Lot of folks want defenders this year and we need extra players in multiple positions. Edit: When you feel fine with either QB, a trade down just a little makes sense. Interesting. I was the other trade down guy.

Holmgren and crew also had people very confident in the beginning. Banner/Lombardi got a boost just because their ascension meant Holmgren's departure. I seem to recall people not being particularly high on Pettine though. Pet was a virtual unknown. So the instant reaction was "Who?" Then the good reports from BUF developed support in short order... Seems like already seeing some early signs of "divergence" over analytics's role. Hopefully just me over-reading between the lines.

hoorta Posted March 2, 2016 Report Posted March 2, 2016 I'm good with either Goff or Wentz. I trust Hue to know which QB he wants. Ditto, voted Wentz, but I'm fine with Goff if that's who Hue likes.
One Post Posted March 2, 2016 Report Posted March 2, 2016 Wentz. After the season ended I was all for trading down. I've flip flopped because of reading most of your posts. We need a qb and I feel letting Wentz go would be idiotic. If he doesn't pan out at least we tried and we wouldn't be the first team to guess wrong at#2.
